  • How can you add a UIGestureRecognizer to a UIBarButtonItem as in the common undo/redo UIPopoverContr

    Problem In my iPad app, I cannot attach a popover to a button bar item only after press-and-hold events. But this seems to be standard for undo/redo. How do other apps do this? Background I have an undo button (UIBarButtonSystemItemUndo) in the toolbar of my UIKit (iPad) app. When I press the undo button, it fires it's action which is undo:, and that executes correctly. However, the "standard UE convention" for undo/redo on iPad is that pressing undo executes an undo but pressing and holding the button reveals a popover controller where the user selected either "undo" or "redo" until the controller is dismissed. The normal way to attach a popover controller is with presentPopoverFromBarButtonItem:, and I can configure this easily enough. To get this to show only after press-and-hold we have to set a view to respond to "long press" gesture events as in this snippet: UILongPressGestureRecognizer *longPressOnUndoGesture = [[UILongPressGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:@selector(handleLongPressOnUndoGesture:)]; //Broken because there is no customView in a UIBarButtonSystemItemUndo item [self.undoButtonItem.customView addGestureRecognizer:longPressOnUndoGesture]; [longPressOnUndoGesture release]; With this, after a press-and-hold on the view the method handleLongPressOnUndoGesture: will get called, and within this method I will configure and display the popover for undo/redo. So far, so good. The problem with this is that there is no view to attach to. self.undoButtonItem is a UIButtonBarItem, not a view. Possible solutions 1) [The ideal] Attach the gesture recognizer to the button bar item. It is possible to attach a gesture recognizer to a view, but UIButtonBarItem is not a view. It does have a property for .customView, but that property is nil when the buttonbaritem is a standard system type (in this case it is). 2) Use another view. I could use the UIToolbar but that would require some weird hit-testing and be an all around hack, if even possible in the first place. There is no other alternative view to use that I can think of. 3) Use the customView property. Standard types like UIBarButtonSystemItemUndo have no customView (it is nil). Setting the customView will erase the standard contents which it needs to have. This would amount to re-implementing all the look and function of UIBarButtonSystemItemUndo, again if even possible to do. Question How can I attach a gesture recognizer to this "button"? More specifically, how can I implement the standard press-and-hold-to-show-redo-popover in an iPad app? Ideas?   • How can I force a tree itemrenderer to redraw during a drag and drop operation?

    I have a tree control with a custom item renderer. The item renderer has different states that should be set while an item is being dragged over the item renderer. I understand from reading this post http://forums.adobe.com/message/2091088 that the 'right way' to do this is to override the 'getCurrentState' method and append some text. I do that. Now in my tree control I handle the drag over event and get a reference to the itemrenderer that is being dragged over and I set the boolean 'dragOver' property to true. Now I just need to force my itemRenderer to redraw. I can't figure that out. A workaround, is to just set the currentState of the itemRenderer. My question then, how can I force my itemRenderer to refresh?   • Jquery autocomplete Items not clickable in mobile safari

    I'm using the defualt jquery autocomplete plugin in my iphone web app, it builds a div with li's. In the browser the hovers and click events work for this but in mobile safari if I click it highlights the entire results containing div. Do I need to create seperate event listeners for the iphone? How would I go about doing this? thanks

Can I use AutoFitColumns to automatically resize my last column and if so, how.

  • How to handle Android SimpleExpandableListAdapter entry selection.

But I'm at a complete loss as to how I detect events when one of the child entries has been selected/clicked. I've tried all the usual OnClickListener/OnChildClickListener etc, but can't seem to find (by experimentation, or half an hour googling) what the correct handler routines should be. Any help greatfully appreciated.

It means snort start from last few hours of tcpdump file and generate alerts about this section of file and all of packets in first hours are ignored.   • 301 htaccess redirect: add segment to old URL's

    I'm trying to make sure old url's aren't broken after the site's URL structure has changed from this: http://www.domain.com/section/entry_name to this: http://www.domain.com/section/event_name/entry_name But to make it a bit more complex, I'm using the segments to sort entries, for example: http://www.domain.com/news/amazing_event/date/asc http://www.domain.com/videos/my_event/title/desc The new structure only effects one particular event (amazing_event) and should leave the other URL's alone. Where do I even begin to tackle this?   • Filesize with SWFUpload and Amazon S3

    Hello all, I'm currently using SWFUpload to upload files to my S3 bucket. And it's working great. I'm using the script from a website here: http://www.anedix.com/news/article/50 Again, the upload to my S3 works fine, however, I've been running into an issue when attempting to upload larger files. It seems that I cannot upload anything over 50MB. I have tried this from both my webhost and locally, using my local testing environment. My question is this: When uploading with SWFUpload, it should be going straight to Amazon S3, correct? If so, then PHP settings such as MAX_UPLOAD_SIZE should not affect it? (Even though in my local environment, I've set it to 1024MB.) Essentially, what the script does is, shows that it's uploading the file (it takes the appropriate amount of time), redirects to the success page, and does not throw any errors. Any ideas on why this would be happening, or how I can troubleshoot this? Thanks!

    Hi, when I use XamlReader.Load() with an invalid XAML string, the resulting XAMLParseException is not caught although beeing in a try-catch-block: try { UIElement xamlCode = XamlReader.Load(XamlText) as UIElement; } catch (Exception ex) { ErrorText = ex.Message; } The code is called from the Tick-Event of a DispatcherTimer, but also in Events like MouseLeftButtonDown the exception is not caught resulting in a break in the Line where I call .Load().     I have received numerous calls from users lately, stating that they are not able to access the conference sites with IE7. These sites are created from a template, and they are managed on Joomla. Previously on other sites, there have no problems or complaints. However, with the recent complaints , I suspect that the culprit is my simple jQuery codes since the sites that have been reported have been created recently and incorporated with jQuery features.   • ExpressionEngine Segment Variables Lost on Site Index Page

    Hey Everyone, I've been messing with this for days now and can't seem to figure it out. I am trying to pass a 2nd segment variable to my client's index page. The URL I'm trying is: http://www.compupay.com/site/CSCPA/. The problem is, rather than showing the site's index page with the segment variable of "CSCPA" still in the URL, it shows the index page with no segment variables. Initially, I thought it was a .htaccess problem but I couldn't find anything in it that seemed out of whack. Any ideas? I am posting the .htaccess file so another pair of eyes can see it.     If I create a Google apps script, can I hook it up to Google spreadsheet to run based on an event, or must I manually invoke it? I don't know if Google spreadsheet supports any events. For example: a Google app script that strikes out rows in the spreadsheet that have been marked completed by way of a column having the digit 1 beside completed rows. I would like this to run whenever a row is modified, or even when the spreadsheet is first loaded.

    I'm using a ScriptManager / ServiceReference to call as ASMX from client side code, just like the Calling Web Services from Client Script in ASP.NET AJAX example. Is there an easy way to show/hide a loading animation when I'm fetching data from the web service? I could show it when I call the service, and hide it in the callback. Is there an event I can attach to? I like the way JQuery has Ajax events for this sort of thing.

    Ok, I'm using an ICS parser utility to parse google calendar ICS files. It works great, except google is feeding me the times of the events at UCT.. so I need to subtract 5 hours now, and 6 hours when daylight savings happens. To get the start time I'm using: $timestart = date("g:iA",strtotime(substr($event['DTSTART'], 9, -3))); //$event['DTSTART'] feeds me back the date in ICS format: 20100406T200000Z So any suggestions how to handle timezone and daylight savings time?   • How to provide an own UIWindow subclass as the main window in an iPhone app?

    For inspecting all events posted to the views of the window, I want to make a subclass of UIWindow and make that -keyAndVisible in the app delegate. However, my project already came with an nasty MainWindow.xib file ;-) so I find it hard to do that now, since that nib guy is creating the window. Is there any way I can get rid of this MainWindow.xib? Or is there another way to have an subclass of UIWindow in place?
