• How safe am I singing into Google Spreadsheets with yeroon.net/ggplot2

  I am impressed by what I have seen of yeroon.net/ggplot2 which is a web interface for Hadley Wickham's R package ggplot2. I want to try it out on my own data. The part that has me very excited is that one can use data stored in one's own Google spreadsheet as the data. One just signs into their Google Account so that yeroon.net/ggplot2 can access the spreadsheet list. I have been hesitant to do it. If I sign in whilst on yeroon.net am I handing over my username and password to a third party? It would not be wise of me to divulge my google password to third parties since Google is fast becoming my repository of everything. How do I know if Jeroon's application is using ClientLogin or OAuth? My understanding is very basic and may be wrong but nevertheless here it is. OAuth would be better since it does not actually pass the password onto the third party application.

  I have an online application that all of its pages use HTTPS. I have 3 questions: Does Google index HTTPS pages? I have a password protected single ASP.NET page (using HTTPS). Password protection is basically achieved by a Session object. When the correct password is entered, it hides the login panel and displays the same page which has a sensitive data. Is this page indexed by Google? I have a Secure folder that I implemented Forms Authentication. All pages in folder use HTTPS as well. Are the pages in this folder indexed by Google?   I'm writing a C# program that will enforce password complexity in accordance with the Windows Group Policy setting "Password must meet complexity requirements". Specifically, if that policy is set to Enabled either on the local machine (if it's not part of a domain) or by the Domain Security Policy (for domain members), then my software needs to enforce a complex password for its own internal security. The issue is that I can't figure out how to read that GPO setting. Google searches have indicated that I can read GPO settings with one of these two APIs: the System.DirectoryServices library in .NET Framework, and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), but I haven't had any success so far. Any insights would be helpful.

While login i authenticate by matching the encrepted passowrd saved in database and again encrypted the one use enter in password field. As of now everything works fine but now i want to do 'Forgot Passowrd' functionality.to do this i need to decrypt the password which is saved in database to find original one.How to decrypt using 'digest/sha1' ? Or someone know any algoritham which supports encryption & decryption as well? Iam using ruby-on-rails so i need Ruby way to accomplish it.

• setUserCredentials from Google data api is stuck

  Well, since I am facing some issues with OAuth implementation, I decided to go back to normal method where users will input their login id and password and I will use them in my code to validate their google account to fetch calendar information. So when user enters login id and password, the page is getting stuck. When I check the code, setUserCredentials is the method where it is getting stuck. But when I enter my login id and password and debug on development site, it works fine. There is no problem when I debug. And importantly , the problem appears for first time only, once I debug the code and next time I try it without breakpoint, it works fine. Does anyone know why setUserCredentials takes time or any way I can track why it is taking so time? I have asked the same question on Google data api forum, but nobody answered it.

User: actAs: { Timestampable: ~ } columns: name: { type: string(255), notnull: true } email: { type: string(255), notnull: true, unique: true } nickname: { type: string(255), unique: true } password: { type: string(300), notnull: true } image: { type: string(255) } FriendsWith: actAs: { Timestampable: ~ } columns: friend1_id: { type: integer, primary: true } friend2_id: { type: integer, primary: true } relations: User: { onDelete: CASCADE, local: friend1_id, foreign: id } User: { onDelete: CASCADE, local: friend2_id, foreign: id } It builds the database correctly, but when I try to insert test data like: User: user1: name: Danny Gurt email: [email protected] nickname: danny password: test1 user2: name: Adrian Soian email: [email protected] nickname: adrian password: test1 FriendsWith: friendship1: friend1_id: user1 friend2_id: user2 I get this integrity constraint problem: SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1452 Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (`krowdd`.`friends_with`, CONSTRAINT `friends_with_ibfk_1` FOREIGN KEY (`friend1_id`) REFERENCES `user` (`id`) ON DELETE CASCADE) Any ideas? • Using Twitter OAuth for automatic status update

  I want my website to automatically post status updates to a particular twitter account using OAuth in PHP. I test this using a URL www.mysite.com/update_status but it asks me for "user name" and "password", which is fine when I am testing it. But my website will not be able to insert this user name and password before posting the status update. So the question is how can a website which is in the server, automatically post a status update to an account without user filling out the user name and password. Is there any way to bypass this? I tried saving oAuth tokens, but it's not working. Thank you for your answer in advance!

• How do I fix this JBoss EJB client authentication issue?

  I have an EJB deployed under JBoss (we're moving a project to it from Weblogic), I can get an EJBHome reference to the EJB via a JNDI lookup. The login-config.xml is set to use the module org.jboss.security.auth.spi.BaseCertLoginModule. When my client code tries to invoke the create method via reflection, calling invoke, I get an InvocationException which wraps an AccessException, which wraps a final exception of javax.security.auth.login.FailedLoginException: Password Incorrect/Password Required at org.jboss.security.auth.spi.UsernamePasswordLoginModule.login(UsernamePasswordLoginModule.java:213).... Am I missing some client code to use BaseCertLoginModule instead of UsernamePasswordLoginModule? Thanks in advance, any suggestions appreciated, apologies for not posting the entire stacktrace but it's on a secured network without internet access.

  Hello All, I'm taking a discrete mathematics course, and I encountered a question and I need your help. I don't know if this is the right place for that though :) It says: Each user on a computer system has a password, which is six to eight characters long, where each character is an uppercase letter or a digit. Each password must contain at least one digit. How many possible passwords are there? The book solves this by adding the probabilities of having six,seven and eight characters long password. However, when he solves for probability of six characters he does this P6 = 36^6 - 26^6 and does P7 = 36^7 - 26^7 and P8 = 36^8 - 26^8 and then add them all I understand the solution, but my question is why doesn't calculating, P6 = 10*36^5 and the same for P7 and P8, work? 10 for the digit and 36 for the alphanumeric? Also, if anyone could give me another solution, other than the one in the book. Thank you very much :)

  Hi. I'm using the Entity Framework 4 and have a question: I have a password column in my database that I want to manage using custom SQL. So I don't want the model to know anything about it. I've tried deleting the property in the Mapping Details window, but then I got a compilation error: Error 3023: Problem in mapping fragments starting at line 1660:Column User.Password in table User must be mapped: It has no default value and is not nullable. So, I made the column nullable in the database and updated the model. Now I get this error: Error 3004: Problem in mapping fragments starting at line 1660:No mapping specified for properties User.Password, User.Salt in Set Users. An Entity with Key (PK) will not round-trip when: Entity is type [UserDirectoryModel.User] Any ideas please? Thanks, Nick

  I'm confused how to import a SQL dump file. I can't seem to import the database without creating the database first in MySQL. This is the error displayed when database_name has not yet been created: username = username of someone with access to the database on the original server. database_name = name of database from the original server $ mysql -u username -p -h localhost database_name < dumpfile.sql Enter password: ERROR 1049 (42000): Unknown database 'database_name' If I log into MySQL as root and create the database, database_name mysql -u root create database database_name; create user username;# same username as the user from the database I got the dump from. grant all privileges on database_name.* to username@"localhost" identified by 'password'; exit mysql then attempt to import the sql dump again: $ mysql -u username -p database_name < dumpfile.sql Enter password: ERROR 1007 (HY000) at line 21: Can't create database 'database_name'; database exists How am I supposed to import the SQL dumpfile?
