    Is there any reason why the asterisk is next to the object type in this code? I'm a little confused by the way I see this used. Some times it looks like this: NSString* stringBefore; and sometimes like this: NSString *stringBefore; Is there a difference? Or a right or wrong way to do this? Thanks

  • Can Prototype or JQuery return an HTTP status code on an AJAX request

But that code is returning 0 all the time. Ultimately, I want to have a setinterval function that regularly pings a website for uptime status.

    I am taking over someone elses code. What are some good ways to learn what that programmer did as quickly as possible? I have been running it, stepping through it and looking at the callstack. Batch file contains the following command. java -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.16.1.jar -role hub http://server.com:5555/grid/register But as I required it for my test automation, I want to automate running the selenium server on a remote server from my C# code. How do I do this?

    I've used TFS for about 18 months now and I'm really not excited about it. It seems like the worst of the current versions of SCMs on the market. I think this thread will help people decide if TFS is for them vs. other source control systems. While TFS does a lot more than that, I think that source control is so critical to software development that any system (or combination thereof) that you pick needs to consider source control first. What are the good things about TFS vs. other source controls -- what does it do well that no one else does? What are the things that TFS is bad at that everyone else seems to do just fine?

    We have a Scala project with few source files (in Scala and Java) and quite some dependencies in various binary formats (jar and DLL). I'm wondering what should go into our shared git repo. Only the source files (developers have to download or somehow resolve the dependencies themselves) or the both the source files and the dependencies? I may add that dependencies are all third parties and available for download for free.

How do I get the .php extension if the code tells the rewriting to stop after adding the www. to the beginning of example.com?

I would really like to test my assignment/programme but being very new to this, i struggle with using the terminal to do things, especially using gdb for debugging (to me it feels like a blast from the past, where i could be using some visual debugger).     a while ago i could comment any code in php with netbeans like this: /* * * */ I just typed /* ENTER and netbeans gave me that lines above. then when i typed @ it gave me a full list of all available tags (author, param and so on). i reinstalled my mac and since then it hasnt worked. someone knows why and how i can activate it? i installed the netbeans for php only.
