  • How to obtain listview information without refreshing the page?

    I am currently developing an Android Application for my Final Year Project. But to be honest I do not have any basic knowledges and everything started from scratch and referring to online tutorials a lot. Here is my question, I was trying to retrieve data from listview activity. There are two listview in my page using button. I was able to display the first listview but when it get data for the second listview, the data for first listview is disappeared because the page is refreshed, vice versa. What code should I modified to get both the data in the page? (Database not implemented yet) Please help, thanks a lot. Below are my codings.   • hg unshelve not working

    Our team is just getting started with Mercurial. One of the first things we've started to play with is hg shelve. Locally, I have no problem shelving changes. It all works perfectly from what I can tell. However, when I try to unshelve, I get the restoring backup files message, but when I run hg diff, there are no changes, and my changes are missing from the code. If i do hg unshelve -i I can see the diff, but again, trying to unshelve seems to have no effect. I've been trying to test it with some very simple changes that shouldn't be a problem in terms of conflicts, e.g. adding a test comment. I should note that I've tried hg unshelve -f after which it says unshelve completed but again, my changes are not restored. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? If it matters: Mercurial Distributed SCM (version 1.5.1+20100405)

  • shell_exec syntax error. running in terminal directly is ok

    Having this command: $command = "diff -bBdH --ignore-all-space <(echo 'hi') <(echo 'hi1')"; echo $command; $result = shell_exec($command); On the screen I see: sh: 1: Syntax error: "(" unexpected diff -bBdH --ignore-all-space <(echo 'hi') <(echo 'hi1') If I copy-paste the second line from the console output into the terminal, the result would be correct. (Reproduced on another machine too). I'm missing something dead simple here and can't see what it is. besides, why is my output reversed? I'm clearly echoing the command before executing it, thus the syntax error of the shell should appear after the shell_exec

  • How to get rid of bogus changes in git?

    I'm a happy user of PortableGit 1.7.0.2. Today I wanted to pull a project changes from GitHub.com repository, so I did git pull. It failed with the following message: error: Your local changes to 'main.rb' would be overwritten by merge. Aborting.. I didn't care about the local changes so I typed git reset --hard HEAD (git clean from here didn't help neither), but it didn't work. When asked for git status I was still able to see the file as modified. git diff showed me that each line of the file has been modified, while git diff -b showed no differences at all, so I guess this is a line ending issue. Which is strange because the code is only pushed from Windows machines. Anyway, the question is: how can I ignore the local, bogus changes and merge with the latest changes from the remote repository?

    I'm considering how to do automatic bug tracking and as part of that I'm wondering what is available to match source code line numbers (or more accurate numbers mapped from instruction pointers via something like addr2line) in one version of a program to the same line in another. (Assume everything is in some kind of source control and is available to my code) The simplest approach would be to use a diff tool/lib on the files and do some math on the line number spans, however this has some limitations: It doesn't handle cross file motion. It might not play well with lines that get changed It doesn't look at the information available in the intermediate versions. It provides no way to manually patch up lines when the diff tool gets things wrong. It's kinda clunky Before I start diving into developing something better: What already exists to do this? What features do similar system have that I've not thought of?

    I'm considering how to do automatic bug tracking and as part of that I'm wondering what is available to match source code line numbers (or more accurate numbers mapped from instruction pointers via something like addr2line) in one version of a program to the same line in another. (Assume everything is in some kind of source control and is available to my code) The simplest approach would be to use a diff tool/lib on the files and do some math on the line number spans, however this has some limitations: It doesn't handle cross file motion. It might not play well with lines that get changed It doesn't look at the information available in the intermediate versions. It provides no way to manually patch up lines when the diff tool gets things wrong. It's kinda clunky Before I start diving into developing something better: What already exists to do this? What features do similar system have that I've not thought of?

The user will edit the textarea and add/delete text from any part(not just the end). I want to send ONLY the changes to the server for patching. How do I accomplish this?. Is there a javascript version of the popular linux command(diff). John Resig's diff code may not work as, for me, it will involve additional parsing on server side. Thanks!

  • CSS drop-down menus pushing page content down

    This is probably (hopefully) a pretty simple question, but I can't seem to get it to work so I'll turn to the experts here. I'm using a pretty straightforward CSS drop-down menu, with just a little JQuery involved. The issue is that when I hover over the drop-down and it opens, it's pushing everything on the page down below it rather then opening over it. I've tried messing with the z-index but that doesn't seem to be the issue. Any tips would be fantastic, thanks in advance.   • Adding a second table in a database

    Hi everyone. I used the code provided by the NoteExample from the developers doc to create a database. Now I want to add a second table to store different data. I simply "copied" the given code, but when I try to insert into the new table I get an error saying: "0ERROR/Database(370): android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: no such table: routes: , while compiling: INSERT INTO routes(line, arrival, duration, start) VALUES(?, ?, ?, ?);" Can someone please take quick look at my DbAdapter class and give me a hint or a solution?   • How is font-size not working here?

    Following advice in The 6 Most Important CSS Techniques You Need To Know, I set my body's font-size to 62.5%, the container div's font-size to 1.4 em (slight variation from the article). p.tags and p.published's font-size is set to 1em. However, this doesn't work for me. Both the normal text and text in p.tags and p.published comes out to be the same size (16.8px as computed by Firebug). Can you explain why my code isn't working? I am testing in Firefox 3.6.3. The sample page shown by the author works just fine in the very same browser.
