  • Commit all folders and files in a directory using commandline

    Hello everybody We are having trouble with having a generalized approach to committing with a batch file using commandline svn. We've got a backupscript that created a new folder with the current date containing the database dumps of our database. (Yes, we version control our database). Now how can I use the svn commit command to include all directories that are new in the project? Is there an approach without using the svn add command?` Thanks for all advice!

    Hello, I'm trying to execute a shell command from a java application, on the GNU/Linux platform. The problem is that the script, that calls another java application, never ends, although it runs successfully from bash. I tried to debug it: (gdb) bt #0 0xb773d422 in __kernel_vsyscall () #1 0xb7709b5d in pthread_join (threadid=3063909232, thread_return=0xbf9cb678) at pthread_join.c:89 #2 0x0804dd78 in ContinueInNewThread () #3 0x080497f6 in main () I tried with: ProcessBuilder(); and Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd); Looks like it waits for something to finish.     I've got HTML component as part of a datagroup itemrenderer which I need to resize the content of (there are lots of them). This works quite well but the content looks really crusty. No font antialiasing. Even at 50% looks crusty. I've considered generating thumbnails bitmaps on load 'complete', but that would be my last resort. <mx:HTML location="{uri}" width="900" height="660" scaleX=".25" scaleY=".25" /> Any ideas?   • newbie: Rails on remote Apache server not displaying index.html.erb

    I played around with Rails on my laptop (running Linux + Apache + MySQL) and had no trouble getting the Getting Started with Rails tutorial to work locally. Now I'm trying the same thing at work on a remote Mac OS X + Apache server, and things aren't quite so rosy. I typed rails blog -d mysql to create a directory called blog in /Library/WebServer/Documents/mydirectory. The trouble is, if I go to server.com/mydirectory/public, I get the public/index.html in my browser. But, I don't get this file if I go to server.com/mydirectory/. Instead, I get a 403 error. Also, when I: script/generate controller home index to create: app/views/home/index.html.erb I am unable to view this file, whether I go to server.com/mydirectory/home/index, or if I add a new line (map.root :controller => "home") to config/routes.rb and go to server.com/mydirectory. Am I missing something really obvious about Apache and Rails?

  • Invoke Java via Batch File with Filepath Arguments

    Hi there, I'm having an issue getting files loaded into an app called GCS, by dragging them onto the executable. GCS can be invoked on Windows with a bat file, which goes like this: @echo off start javaw -Xmx256M -jar "GURPS Character Sheet.app/Contents/Resources/Java/GCS.jar" %* If I hard code a filepath in place of the batch argument wildcard (with quotes), it works. If I run the debugger with a filepath argument it works. If I echo %, it gives me the correct filename with quotes around it. If I add quotes around % it still breaks. I have a disconnect here between DOS and Java, and I'm at a loss. Does anyone recognize this problem? Thanks in advance.

    I've been playing around with gstreamer pipelines using gst-launch. I don't have any problems if I just want to process audio or video separately (to separate files, or to alsasink/ximagesink), but I'm confused by what I need to do to mux the streams back together using, say avimux. This gst-launch-0.10 filesrc location=MVI_2034.AVI ! decodebin name=dec \ dec. ! queue ! audioconvert ! 'audio/x-raw-int,rate=44100,channels=1' ! queue ! mux. \ dec. ! queue ! videoflip 1 ! ffmpegcolorspace ! jpegenc ! queue ! mux. \ avimux name=mux ! filesink location=out.avi just outputs Setting pipeline to PAUSED ... Pipeline is PREROLLING ... and then stalls indefinitely. What's the trick ?

    A software I need to install on my Ubuntu Hardy has a MAKE file which includes the command cp -n. However, I get an error stating the -n is an invalid option. The command will work on a Mac terminal but I need it to work on Ubuntu. Does anyone know the equivalent command for Ubuntu? Thanks.

    Folks, Yesterday I installed Rails 3.2 on Ubuntu 12.10 and created a new project in order to check it. It was working OK. Today I tried to create a new project and got the message bellow (Portuguese version): O programa 'rails' pode ser encontrado nos seguintes pacotes: * rails * ruby-railties-3.2 Tente: sudo apt-get install <pacote selecionado> Something like: The program 'rails' could not be found in the follow packages: ... ... Try: sudo apt-get install <selected package> I run the command gem list and all the gems are listed, including Rails one. I tried to search on the web for a solution, but haven't found any.     I have a read a number of excellent questions and answers today about dealing with user input. I am now using htmlspecialchars() to display user data in the create/edit forms (but accepting the raw input via prepared PDO statements into my database). The main question I know have is, what do you do when you are allowing the user to submit HTML which will then be displayed to the public. Obviously htmlspecialchars() is no longer suitable as it just encodes the tags and renders the content useless for purpose. My application is currently accepting HTML from an admin for product descriptions. This would allow a malicious admin to inject potentially unsafe data into public facing pages. How do people cope with this?

    Hi! I've been struggling for a while with this one; I'll try to explain it here as simply as possible. Consider this MySQL table: +----------+-----------+---------+--------+ |status_id |session_id |pilot_id |present | +----------+-----------+---------+--------+ |1 |61 |901 |1 | |2 |63 |901 |1 | |3 |62 |901 |0 | |4 |62 |902 |1 | |5 |63 |903 |1 | +----------+-----------+---------+--------+ Both session_id and pilot_id are foreign keys making reference to a primary key in another table. The same pilot_id can be associated with different session_id, but every pilot_id-session_id combination is unique. I need to make an HTML table (in PHP) that would display the data like this: +----------+---------+---------+---------+ | |61 |62 |63 | +----------+---------+---------+---------+ |901 |X | |X | |902 | |X | | |903 | | |X | +----------+---------+---------+---------+ Hence, rows are pilot_id and columns are session_id. When a pilot_id-session_id combination has a present value of 1, the corresponding cell should be checked. (ie. when the row-combination is zero or the combination does not exist in the MySQL table, nothing should appear in the HTML table) Phew. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Greetings, I've got a directory with a list of pdfs in it: file1.pdf, file2.pdf, morestuff.pdf ... etc. I want to convert these pdfs to pngs, ie file1.png, file2.png, morestuff.png ... etc. The basic command is, convert from to, But I'm having trouble getting convert to rename to the same file name. The obvious 'I wish it worked this way' is convert *.pdf *.png But clearly that doesn't work. My thought process is that I should utilize regular expression grouping here, to say somethink like convert (*).pdf %1.png but that clearly isn't the right syntax. I'm wondering what the correct syntax is, and whether there's a better approach (that doesn't require jumping into perl or python) that I'm ignoring. Thanks!

  • Emailing HTML from within an iPhone app is stopping at special characters

    Hi, I have an iPhone app that will let users email some pre-determined text as HTML. I'm having a problem in that if the text contains special characters within the text (e.g., ampersand &, , <), the NSString variable that I use for sending the body of the email gets truncated at the special character. I'm not sure how to fix this (I tried using the method stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding…but this hasn't fixed the problems). Thoughts on what I'm doing wrong / how to fix it?   • calculate intersection between two segments in a symmetric way

    When using the usual formulas to calculate intersection between two 2D segments, ie here, if you round the result to an integer, you get non-symmetric results. That is, sometimes, due to rounding errors, I get that intersection(A,B)!=intersection(B,A). The best solution is to keep working with floats, and compare the results up to a certain precision. However, I must round the results to integers after calculating the intersection, I cannot keep working with floats. My best solution so far was to use some full order on the segments in the plane, and have intersection to always compare the smaller segment to the larger segment. Is there a better method? Am I missing something?

  • In terminal, merging multiple folders into one.

    I have a backup directory created by WDBackup (western digital external HD backup util) that contains a directory for each day that it backed up and the incremental contents of just what was backed up. So the hierarchy looks like this: 20100101 My Documents Letter1.doc My Music Best Songs Every First Songs.mp3 My song.mp3 # modified 20100101 20100102 My Documents Important Docs Taxes.doc My Music My Song.mp3 # modified 20100102 ...etc... Only what has changed is backed up and the first backup that was ever made contains all the files selected for backup. What I'm trying to do now is incrementally copy, while keeping the folder structure, from oldest to newest, each of these dated folders into a 'merged' folder so that it overrides the older content and keeps the new stuff. As an example, if just using these two example folders, the final merged folder would look like this: Merged My Documents Important Docs Taxes.doc Letter1.doc My Music Best Songs Every First Songs.mp3 My Song.mp3 # modified 20100102 Hope that makes sense.     I am trying to adjust my Flash development workflow so that I am using Flash Builder for all of my coding and multiple FLA files for the user interfaces. I will be creating an ActionScript project in Flash Builder and then having each FLA export a SWC into a resources folder. It is important that I retain the ability to export PC and Mac -- EXE and app, respectively -- projector files. Is there a way of doing this with the Flash compiler or any 3rd party tools?
