  • Calling Msbuild from Php - Wrong Codepage and Culture

    I have a Php script that calls Msbuild via System: <?php system( "msbuild umlaut.proj" ); ?> This is the project file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Project xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003" DefaultTargets="EchoUmlaut" ToolsVersion="3.5"> <Target Name="EchoUmlaut"> <Message Text="Umlaute: Ä Ö Ü ä ö ü ß" /> </Target> </Project> When I call Msbuild directly from the command line the output of msbuild is in German (as excpected) and the umlauts come out OK (I chcp to 1252). But when I use php to call msbuild the umlauts are wrong, and the output of msbuild is changed to English. I wonder what I can do to prevent this. C:\>chcp Aktive Codepage: 1252.     Hello, I am creating a simple application that enables merging of key-value pairs fields in a Word and/or Excel document. Until this day, the application has worked out just fine. I am using the latest version of .NET Framework 4.0 (since it provides a nice wrapper API for Interop).   • Restore DB - Error RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally

    I have taken backup of SQL Server 2008 DB on server, and download them to local environment. I am trying to restore that database and it is keep on giving me following error. An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo) ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The media family on device 'C:\go4sharepoint_1384_8481.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family. RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 3241) For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&ProdVer=09.00.4053&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=3241&LinkId=20476 I have tried to create a temp DB on server and tried to restore the same backup file and that works. I have also tried no. of times downloading file from server to local pc using different options on Filezila (Auto, Binary) But its not working. After that I tried to execute following command on server. BACKUP DATABASE go4sharepoint_1384_8481 TO DISK=' C:\HostingSpaces\dbname_jun14_2010_new.bak' with FORMAT It is giving me following error: Msg 3201, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Cannot open backup device 'c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Backup\ C:\HostingSpaces\dbname_jun14_2010_new.bak'. Operating system error 123(The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.). Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally. For 24 versions it has been working perfectly - now, on version 25 I get the following error once the application has installed and it launches: If I test a previous deployment on the same machine, it works. Where can I even begin to look to find the cause of this error? I already checked the windows event logs - nothing. EDIT: I noticed that while the dialog is displayed, a temporary xml file 'WER561D.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml' is generated in my temp folder.   • When is Visual Studio 2010 expected to RTM?

    Microsoft originally slated the final release build for April 12, 2010. Somasegar said the Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4 releases will now be pushed back "a few weeks." I know the version / product name says "2010", but that doesn't necessarily mean that it will RTM in 2010. After all VS'2008 RTM'd in November 2007. The last Beta of VS'2008 came out in July 2007, and it RTM'd in November. So based on the previous version that places VS'2010 to RTM in September 2010 at the very earliest since the first Beta just came out in May. Anyone have any other speculations?

    I want to embed a custom c# windows form (or WPF) user control into an outlook view. I am using Outlook 2003 and Visual Studio 2008. I did download an example for Outlook 2007 here: http://blogs.msdn.com/e2eblog/archive/2008/01/09/outlook-folder-homepage-hosting-wpf-activex-and-windows-forms-controls.aspx and also here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479345.aspx I tested it and under 2007 it is working, but for 2003 i am getting the following error when i want to open the view: Could not complete the operation due to error 80131509 I can start it from Visual Studio, it is registering the folder just fine, debugging works and all that. It creates an HTML page that contains my type as an object parameter - but the Initialize method that should be called is either not present (not shown via JS) or it has some errors. The breakpoints for RegisterSafeForScripting are also never hit - maybe related to that. Thx in advance!

    Any help is appreciated: I'm developing a C#.Net app in VS2010 that interacts with Excel. The app works correctly on my local machine. Uploading to a remote Windows 2003 server however, breaks the app. Originally, I received the following message Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80070005 After Googling the problem (which suggested a permissions problem) i tried this: Installing Excel 2007 Going into Component Services on the remote server and following the instructions here: http://blog.crowe.co.nz/archive/2006/03/02/589.aspx Now I get this message on the same operation: Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A03EC Google searches seem to be suggesting that this is a version match error. However, both the local machine and the remote server use Excel 2007. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks in advance. -Daniel

    I have a half dozen sites on my server and I would like to get some info from IIS7 to display in the footer of each page (as long as you are an admin of course). I am going through the ServerObject and found Sites but am not finding anything obvious for "this site". What should I do to get at the information for the exact site in IIS7 that the page is running on?   • Excel and Tab Delimited Files Question

    I am encountering what I believe to be a strange issue with Excel (in this case, Excel 2007, but maybe also Excel 2003, but don't have access to it as I write this). I can reliably convert some server data over into a tab-delimited format (been doing this for years) and then open it using Excel - no issue. However, what seems to be happening is if I have an html <table inside one of the fields, it looks like Excel 2007 thinks it should be converting the table into rows and columns inside Excel (not what I want). As you might imagine, this throws off the entire spreadsheet. So question is, is there any way to set up excel to NOT do this (perhaps some setting in Excel that pertains to reading tab delimited files), or am I missing something? Thanks.

I do this by having the fiq_flip_pins function defined in the monolithic kernel and not as a module which gets vmalloc. If I don't branch to the fiq_flip_pins function, and instead do the work in the test_fiq_handler function everything works as expected. It's the branching that's causing me problems at the moment.   • Microsoft Robotics Studio with Wine ? Is it possible ?

    I am using Ubuntu 9.10 and I am a bit of a robotics enthusiast. I have used KiKS (in MATLAB for simulating Khepera robots), MobotSim (in Windows, simulates a point like robot using a BASIC editor) and Player Stage/Gazebo (with C/C++ on Ubuntu Linux). My question, can MS Robotics Studio be installed in Ubuntu Linux using Wine (I am using 1.1.31) ? Has anyone done it ? Thanks for your reply !

  • Date Picker Blue

    I'm successfully setting a date-picker with an initial date from a plist, but I see some unwanted blue values in the month, day, and year components, presumably corresponding to current date. So if today is April 18, 2010 and initial date being set is March 19, 2008, it looks like this (bold represents the blue): January 17 2006 February 18 2007 ------------------------------ March 19 2008 ------------------------------ April 20 2009 May 21 2010 First question is: How do I get rid of the blue? And second question: Ideally, how do I get it to look like this? January 17 2006 February 18 2007 ------------------------------ March 19 2008 ------------------------------ April 20 2009 May 21 2010 Third question, totally unrelated and not as important: How could I have gotten the above to show in blue rather than bold?   • What Algorithm will Find New Longtail Keywords for *keyword* in PPC

    I am looking for the algorithm (or combo) that would allow someone to find new longtail PPC search phrases based on say one corekeyword. Eg #1 word word corekeyword eg #2 word corekeyword word Google search tool allows a limited number vertically - mostly of eg#1 (https://adwords.google.com.au/select/KeywordToolExternal) I also know of other PPC apps that allow more volume than google adwords keyword tool, But I want to find other combos that mention the corekeyword & then naturally sort for the highest volume searched. Working example of exact match: corekeyword: copywriter (40,500 searches a month) google will serve up: become a copywriter (480 searches globally/month in english) But if I specifically look up: How to become a copywriter (720 searches a month) This exact longtail keyword phrase has 300 more searches than the 3 word version spat out by google. I want the algorithm to find any other highly search exact longtials like: how to become a copywriter Simply because it was save significant $ finding other longtail keywords after your campaign has been running an made google lots of money. I don't want a concantenation algorithm (I already have one of those), because hypothetically, I don't know what keywords will be that I want to find. Any gurus out there? Becci
