• Dataset Binding stored procedures update/insert/delete

  Hi all, I am currently having a problem since the DB has been changed. I am using Datasets for a c# application, and there is a user management system. For the security issues, our current DB design is like user log into app. DB returns a session ID On use of any other stored procedures, a session ID must be specified. BUT, the DB didn't request session ID before. since I am using the datasets, I used update/insert/delete stored procedures with "TableAdaptor Configuration Wizard". Bind Commands to Existing Stored Procedures (choose stored procedures to call and specify any reuiqred parameters) Now, it seems like I have to specify session ID for Insert/Update/Delete stored procedures. How do I specify session ID parameter here? It seems like I have to pick one return parameter variable from a select statement. Thanks,

  I am writing a big code and I don't want it all to be in my main.c so I wrote a .inc file that has IF-ELSE statement with function and I was wondering can it be written like this: #if var==1 process(int a) { printf("Result is: %d",2*a); } #else process(int a) { printf("Result is: %d",10*a); } #endif I tried to compile it but it gives me errors or in best case it just goes on the first function process without checking the var variable (it is set to 0).

• Creating a textarea with auto-resize

  There was another thread about this, which I've tried. But there is one problem: the textarea doesn't shrink if you delete the content. I can't find any way to shrink it to the correct size - the clientHeight value comes back as the full size of the textarea, not its contents. The code from that page is below.   I am trying to send terminal commands programmaticly from an android activity. Now for my question: Does anyone know how I can dump the terminal to a file and save it on the phone or sdcard? The program is tying into the terminal to feed it commands, I want to know a way to open a connection the otherway and access the (what is normally visual on a terminal screen) output.

• Shared memory of same DLL in different 32 bit processes is sometimes different in a terminal session

  We have an 32 bit application consisting of some processes. They communicate with shared memory of a DLL used by every process. Shared memory is build with global variables in C++ by "#pragma data_seg ("Shared")". When running this application sometime during starting a new process in addition to an existing (first) process we observe that the shared memory of both processes is not the same. All new started processes cannot communicate with the first process. After stopping all of our processes and restarting the application (with some processes) everything works fine. But sometime or other after successfully starting and finishing new processes the problem occurs again. Running on all other Windows versions or terminal sessions on Windows server 2003 our application never got this problem. Is there any new "feature" on Windows server 2008 that might disturb the hamony of our application?

IN ...." query on the results. This works fine using the following. (return results with id's ID1 ID2 or ID3) sQuery = "ID1,ID2,ID3"; string[] aSearch = sQuery.Split(','); items = items.Where(i => aSearch.Contains(i.ID)); What I would like to be able to do, is perform the same operation, but not have to specify the i.ID part. So if I have the string of the field name I want to apply the "WHERE IN" clause to, how can I use this in the .Contains() method?

  I have a simple join in a query however I need to have a condition on both of the tables "confirmed='yes'" but if one of the tables doesn't have any that match the query returns with no rows.   I am not able to perform mutual update to my Database. Like for example 2 3 and 3 2 are mutually connected and 1 is associated with them so there is no need to insert (3 2 via 1). I think this is my requirement. Anything possible combinations i have missed please let me know. i will Update. Please help me writing the logic or any example using jdbc and java.

  I like using LINQ to SQL. The only problem is that I don't like the default way of updating tables. Let's say I have the following table with the following columns: ID (primary key), value1, value2, value3, value4, value5 When I need to update something I call UPDATE ... WHERE ID=@id LINQ to SQL call UPDATE ... WHERE ID=@id and value1=@value1 and value2=@value2 and value3=@value3 and value4=@value4 and value5=@value5 I can override this behavior by adding UpdateCheck=UpdateCheck.Never to every column, but with every update of the DataContext class with the GUI, this will be erased. Is there any way to tell LINQ to use this way of updating data?

• C# WPF Unable to control Textboxes

  I'm a beginner in coding into C#. While I'm launching a process I can't controls my textboxes. I found some answers on this forum but the explaination is a bit to difficult for me to implement it for my problem. I created a small program that will run a batch file to make a backup. While the backup is running I can't modify my textboxes, disabling buttons etc... I already saw that this is normal but I don't know how to implement the solutions.   I need to create a field called “rank”, that ranks each part ID based on total sales, by assigning a sequential number based on total sales, where the higher the total sales, then the lower the rank value. For example, the part ID with the most sales would have a rank value of “1” and the part ID with the next highest sales would have a rank value of “2” and the part ID with the lowest sales would rank with the highest number.   I need to write an application that spits out log entries to a regular file at a very fast rate. Also, there will be another process, that can read the same file concurrently at the time, other process would be writing to it. I have following questions How does read() determine EOF, specially in the case, where the underlying file could be concurrently being modified? Is it possible for read() to return partially written data from the other process write? For example, the write process wrote half a line and read would pick that half line and return?   I have a SQL problem that I've come up against routinely, and normally just solved w/ a nested query. I'm hoping someone can suggest a more elegant solution. It often happens that I need to select a result set for a user, conditioned upon it being the most recent, or the most sizeable or whatever. For example: Their complete list of pages created, but I only want the most recent name they applied to a page. It so happens that the database contains many entries for each page, and only the most recent one is desired. I've been using a nested select like: SELECT pg.customName, pg.id FROM ( select id, max(createdAt) as mostRecent from pages where userId = @UserId GROUP BY id ) as MostRecentPages JOIN pages pg ON pg.id = MostRecentPages.id AND pg.createdAt = MostRecentPages.mostRecent Is there a better syntax to perform this selection?

  I have an object that I'm populating from a selection off a table row that a user selects. I have a jQuery function that captures the click event and a hidden form field populates an id I need. However, I'm not sure as to the proper way to send off that object to a struts2 action?
