VB.Net List.Find. Pass values to predicate

Having a bit of trouble using the List.Find with a custom predicate i have a function that does this private function test () Dim test As Integer = keys.Find(AddressOf FindByOldKeyAndName).NewKey here's the function for the predicate Private Shared Function FindByOldKeyAndName(ByVal k As KeyObj) As Boolean If k.OldKey = currentKey.OldKey And k.KeyName = currentKey.KeyName Then Return True Else Return False End If End Function by doing it this way means i have to have a shared "currentKey" object in the class, and i know there has to be a way to pass in the values i'm interested in of CurrentKey (namely, keyname, and oldkey) ideally i'd like to call it by something like keys.Find(AddressOf FindByOldKeyAndName(Name,OldVal)) however when i do this i get compiler errors. How do i call this method and pass in the values?

SQl Server: serializable level not working

I have the following SP: CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[sp_LockReader] AS BEGIN SET NOCOUNT ON; begin try set transaction isolation level serializable begin tran select * from teste commit tran end try begin catch rollback tran set transaction isolation level READ COMMITTED end catch set transaction isolation level READ COMMITTED END The table "test" has many values, so "select * from teste" takes several seconds. I run the sp_LockReader at same time in two diferent query windows and the second one starts showing test table contents without the first one terminates. Shouldn't serializeble level forces the second query to wait? How do i get the described behaviour? Thanks

Using SHIFT_JIS text in PHP

I am building a form that needs to accept characters encoded in SHIFT_JIS and then send those results via email to a recipient. I've tried to simply capture the results from the $_POST variable and then to insert them into a block of text like this: $contents = <<<TEST Name: $NameJp ... TEST but that doesn't appear to work (which doesn't really surprise me). This is my first attempt at dealing with non-ASCII characters in PHP and I am hoping that people might have some suggestions. Perhaps I am missing a simple function to encode the text. Also, are there any other potential pitfalls that I might encounter? Thanks.

Firebug profiling issue: "no activity to profile"

I want to try some different options with some javascript (jQuery) to see which is the fastest, however I can't get profiling working properly. Here is the code I want to test. $this.keypress(function(e) { console.profile("test"); //retrieve the charcode if possible, otherwise get the keycode k = e.which ? e.which : e.CharCode; if (blockKeyCodes.indexOf("|" + k + "|") != -1 || e.ctrlKey && k == 86) e.preventDefault(); console.profileEnd(); }); However, when I run this the console states "no activity to profile". If I use console.time the result is 0ms. Anyone know how to fix this?

Detect LaTeX class name

I'm working on a LaTeX package which might need to do some things differently depending on the class that's being used. I'm wondering if there's a way to auto-detect or test the document class. One could certainly look up the class files and test for the existence of a specific macro defined by that class, but is there a smarter way? I looked at the definition of the \ProvidesClass macro and can't see if it saves the class name anywhere except \@currname. I believe \@currname is just the name of the current package or class being read. Basically I want to execute \author{\longauthorname} in the article class but \author[\shortauthorname]{\longauthorname} in the beamer class.

How to mock WCF Web Services with Rhino Mocks.

How do I test a class that utilizes proxy clients generated by a Web Service Reference? I would like to mock the client, but the generated client interface doesn't contain the close method, which is required to properly terminate the proxy. If I don't use the interface, but instead a concrete reference, I get access to the close method but loose the ability to mock the proxy. Differentiate generic methods by type parameters only using reflection?

I'm trying to use reflection to get a specific MethodInfo of a class, but am unsure how to differentiate between the two following methods: public class Test { public IBar<T1> Foo<T1>(); public IBar<T1, T2> Foo<T1, T2>(); } How can I get a reference to the different Foo methods, assuming I know the number of type parameters? Just calling typeof(Test).GetMethod("Foo") will throw an exception that the method name is ambiguous and there aren't a differing number of parameters to check.

RewriteRule being greedy

I have been looking for an answer for a few hours now, so sorry if this was asked a ton of times, I missed it. I basically want to make a rewrite to ignore the first directory. That first dir in the path will be different so I thought I could use a regex. But my regex is matching all the way to the file name: RewriteRule ^([a-z]+)?/(.+)$ $2 [L] this works if I am one level deep: http://test.domain.com/one/index.php I get the actual index page of the root. Which is what I want. but if I were to go deeper: http://test.domain.com/one/two/index.php I get a message saying /index.php was not found. So it seems my regex is not stopping after the last [a-z]. I appreciate any help. This is Apache2 if that matters at all.

Why can't I access a web app running on my Mac via my iPhone?

I'm developing an iPhone app that has a network component. I'm developing the app in Java (Google App Engine actually), running on port 8080. And it works, when I test my app in the iPhone simulator. But now I am trying to test on the device, and I can't hit my Jetty instance. I can certainly access my Mac via the iPhone because I'm able to hit http://10.0.1.7/~brianpapa/ and view my Home Folder when Web Sharing is turned on. But when I try to hit http://10.0.1.7:8080/, it says it can't connect to the server. Interestingly, if I try to hit http://10.0.1.7:8080/ from my mac, it doesn't work either - I have to use localhost as the hostname instead, then it's fine. Has anybody ever encountered this before, and know how to fix it?

mocking command object in grails controller results in hasErrors() return false no matter what! Plea

I have a controller that uses a command object in a controller action. When mocking this command object in a grails' controller unit test, the hasErrors() method always returns false, even when I am purposefully violating its constraints. def save = { RegistrationForm form -> if(form.hasErrors()) { // code block never gets executed } else { // code block always gets executed } } In the test itself, I do this: mockCommandObject(RegistrationForm) def form = new RegistrationForm(emailAddress: "ken.bad@gmail", password: "secret", confirmPassword: "wrong") controller.save(form) I am purposefully giving it a bad email address, and I am making sure the password and the confirmPassword properties are different. In this case, hasErrors() should return true... but it doesn't. C++ Linked List - Reading data from a file with a sentinel

So I've done quite a bit of research on this and can't get my output to work correctly. I need to read in data from a file and have it stored into a Linked List. The while loop used should stop once it hits the $$$$$ sentinel. Then I am to display the data (by searching by ID Number[user input]) I am not that far yet I just want to properly display the data and get it read in for right now. My problem is when it displays the data is isn't stopping at the $$$$$ (even if I do "inFile.peek() != EOF and omit the $$$$$) I am still getting an extra garbage record. I know it has something to do with my while loop and how I am creating a new Node but I can't get it to work any other way. Selenium not finding LiveValidation text.

I am using the Selenium IDE to test some of my web development. I am using the JQuery LiveValidation in my code. I have an input box with some javascript behind it that will do a regular expresson and either ouput "OK" or "Error" next to the input text box based on what the user has entered. For some reason when testing with selenium the LiveValidation will not get triggered no matter what I do and therefore I can not test it. When I do it manually it works great. Has anyone run into this problem before? Any help would be appreciated.

JSon/Jquery request with a setTimeout always returns a "null" result? (for Twitter Search API)

I make a call to the twitter API. 100 posts are retreived + a properties that tells me what the next page to call is. So I wait 5 sec. and call that next page, but the JSon results in the callback function is always null the second time... I think it's probably a JQuery problem... tools for testing vim plugins

I'm looking for some tools for testing vim scripts. Either vim scripts that do unit/functional testing, or classes for some other library (eg Python's unittest module) that make it convenient to run vim with parameters that cause it to do some tests on its environment, and determine from the output whether or not a given test passed. I'm aware of a couple of vim scripts that do unit testing, but they're sort of vaguely documented and may or may not actually be useful: vim-unit: purports "To provide vim scripts with a simple unit testing framework and tools" first and only version (v0.1) was released in 2004 documentation doesn't mention whether or not it works reliably, other than to state that it is "fare [sic] from finished". unit-test.vim: This one also seems pretty experimental, and may not be particularly reliable. May have been abandoned or back-shelved: last commit was in 2009-11 ( 6 months ago) No tagged revisions have been created (ie no releases) So information from people who are using one of those two existent modules, and/or links to other, more clearly usable, options, are very welcome.

How do you set up your JScript (NOT JScript.NET) development environment?

In my environment, if I create a class in JScript syntax: class test{ } and then save it to a file named "test.js" and run it with wscript, I get a Microsoft JScript "Syntax error" at line 1. However, if I simply, say, write a function: function getInput() { var wshell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell"); wshell.Popup ("Do you want to continue?"); return userInput } getInput() and run it the same way, it works. Hopefully, there is something fundamentally wrong with my class definition. If that is the case, I am excited to find out.

i need help with batch file for WINRAR pleasee hi i am trying to use winrar to convert all my different folders individually from one location to another. example: c:\projects\test c:\projects\country c:\projects\db to c:\backup\test.rar c:\backup\country.rar c:\backup\db.rar I am trying the following cmd, which works but what it does is that it gets all the folders in the projects folder into the backup for /f "delims==" %%D in ('DIR C:\projects /A /B /S') do ( "C:\Program Files\WinRAR\WinRAR.EXE" m -r "c:\backup\projects.rar" "%%D" ) but this is what it does c:\backup\project.rar (it does contain all the files if i extract) i want them separetely can you please help?

I would like to quickly set up a RESTful site using PHP without learning a PHP Framework. I would like to use a single .htaccess-file in Apache (no mod_rewrite) or a single rule using Nginx, so I easyli can change web server without changing my code. So I want to direct all requests to a single PHP-file, and that file takes care of the RESTful-handling and call the right PHP-file. In example: The user request http://mysite.com/test The server sends all requests to rest.php The rest.php call test.php (maybe with a querystring). If this can be done, is there a free PHP-script that works like my rest.php? or how can I do this PHP-script?

Why not speed up testing by using function dependency graph?

It seems logical to me that if you have a dependency graph of your source code (tree showing call stack of all functions in your code base) you should be able to save a tremendous amount of time doing functional and integration tests after each release. Essentially you will be able to tell the testers exactly what functionality to test as the rest of the features remain unchanged from a source code point of view. If for instance you change a spelling mistake in once piece of the code, there is no reason to run through your whole test script again "just in case" you introduced a critical bug. My question, why are dependency trees not used in software engineering and if you use them, how do you maintain them? What tools are available that generate these trees for C# .NET, C++ and C source code?

STL map containing references does not compile

The following: std::map<int, ClassA &> test; gives: error C2101: '&' on constant While the following std::map<ClassA &, int> test; gives error C2528: '_First' : pointer to reference is illegal The latter seems like map cannot contain a reference for the key value, since it needs to instantiate the class sometimes and a reference cannot be instantiated without an object. But why does the first case not work?
