• Where does django look for sqlite3 installation/libraries?

  Am having a bit of a problem making my django application run in SUSE linux 9. I have Python2.5 installed well, Django 1.0 installed well. Am able to execute django command django-admin startproject fine But when i run the runserver command i get the error below. i have a folder with sqlite3, i can go in there and actually run the sqlite3* application, now am wondering where does Django look for the sqlite libraries? and how can i fix this?   I'm following these instructions in order to set up Django on Windows. I have installed Python 2.6, PostgreSQL 8.4, Psycopg 2.0.14 for Python 2.6 and the latest version of Django from SVN. • Examples using Active Directory/LDAP groups for permissions \ roles in Rails App.

  Hello. I was wondering how other people implemented this scenario. I have an internal rails app ( inventory management, label printing, shipping,etc). I'm rewriting security on the system, cause the old way got to cumbersome to maintain ( users table, passwords, roles) - I used restful_authentication and roles. It was implemented about 3 years ago. I already implemented AuthLogic with ruby-ldap-net to authenticate users ( actually that was surprisingly easy, compared to how I struggled with other frameworks/languages before). Next step is roles. I already have groups defined in Active Directory - so I don't want to run a separate roles system in my rails app, I just want to reuse Active Directory groups - since that part of the system is already maintained for other purposes ( shared drives, backups, pc access, etc) So I was wondering if others had experience implementing permissions/roles in a rails app based on groups in Active Directory or LDAP. Also the roles requirements are pretty complex. Here is an example: For instance I have users that belong to the supervisors group in AD and to inventory dept, so I was that user to be able to run "advanced" tasks in invetory - adjust qty, run reports, however other "supervisors" from other departmanets, shouldn't be able to do this, also Top Management - should be able to use those reports (regardless weather they belong to the invetory or not), but not Middle Management, unless they are in inventory group. Admins of the system (Domain Admins) should have unrestricted access to the system , except for HR & Finances part unless they are in HR ( like you don't want all system admins (except for one authorized one) to see personal info of other employees). I looked at acl9, cancan, aegis. I was wondering if there are any advantaged/cons to using one versus the other for this particular use of system access based on AD. Suggest other systems if you had good experience. Thank you!!!

  Hey, does anyone know a package manager library for PHP (as e.g. apt or yum for linux distros) apart from PEAR? I'm working on a system which should include a package management system for module management. I managed to get a working solution using PEAR, but using the PEAR client for anything else than managing a PEAR installation is not really the optimal solution as it's not designed for that. I would have to modify/extend it (e.g. to implement actions on installation/upgrade or to move PEAR specific files like lockfiles away from the system root) and especially the CLI client code is quite messy and PHP4. So maybe someone has some suggestions for an alternative PEAR client library which is easy to use and extend (the server side has some nice implementations like Pirum and pearhub) for completely different package management systems written in PHP (ideally including dependency tracking and different channels) for some general ideas how to implement such a PM system (yes, I'm still tinkering with the idea of implementing such a system from scratch) I know that big systems like Magento and symfony use PEAR for their PM. Magento uses a hacked version of the original PEAR client (which I'd like to avoid), symfony's implementation seems quite integrated with the framework, but would be a good starting point to at least write the client from scratch. Anyway, if anybody has suggestions: please :)

• ColdFusion Session issue - multiple users behind one proxy IP -- cftoken and cfid seems to be shared

  Hi Everyone, I have an application that uses coldfusion's session management (instead of the J2EE) session management. We have one client, who has recently switched their company's traffic to us to come viaa proxy server in their network. So, to our Coldfusion server, it appears that all traffic is coming from this one IP Address, for all of the accounts of this one company.. Of the session variables, Part 1 is kept in a cflock, and Part 2 is kept in editable session variables. I may be misundestanding, but we have done it this way as we modify some values as needed throughout the application's usage. We are now running into an issue of this client having their session variables mixed up (?). We have one case where we set a timestamp.. and when it comes time to look it up, it's empty. From the looks of it this is happening because of another user on the same token. My initial thoughts are to look into modifying our existing session management to somehow generate a unique cftoken/cfid, or to start using jsession_ID, if this solves the problem at all. I have done some basic research on this issue and couldn't find anything similar, so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks!

  hello all i'm having a bear of a time getting visual studio 2010 (ultimate i think) to properly attach to my database. it was moved from original spot to #MYAPP#/#MYAPP#.Web/App_Data/#MDF_FILE#.mdf. I have three instances of sql server running on this machine. i have tried to replace the old mdf file with my new one and cannot get the connectionstring right for it. what i'm really wanting to do is to just open some DB instance, run a DB create script. Then I can have a DB that was generated via my edmx (generate database from model) in silverlight business application (c#) right now, when i go to server explorer in VS, choose add new connection, choose MS SQL Server Database FIle (SqlClient), choose my file location (app_data directory), use windows authentication, and hit the Test Connection button I get the following error: Unable to open the physical file "". Operating system error 5: "5(Access Denied.)". An attempt to attach to an auto-named database for file"" failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share. The mdf file was created on the same machine by connecting to (local) on the sql server management studio, getting a new query, pasting in the SQL from the generated ddl file, adding a CREATE DATABASE [NcrCarDatabase]; GO before the pasted SQL, and executing the query. I then disconnected from the DB in management studio, closed management studio, navigated to the DATA directory for that instance, and copying the mdf and ldf files to my application's app_data folder. I am then trying to connect to the same file inside visual studio. I hope that gives more clarity to my problems :). Connection string is: Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=C:\SourceCode\NcrCarDatabase\NcrCarDatabase.Web\App_Data\NcrCarDatabase.mdf;Integrated Security=True;Connect Timeout=30;User Instance=True

  Hello, idea I would like to create a little app for myself to store ideas (the thing is - I want it to do MY WAY) database I'm thinking going simple: id - unique id of revision in database text_id - identification number of text rev_id - number of revision flags - various purposes - expl. later title - self expl. desc - description text - self expl . flags - if I (i.e.) add flag rb;65, instead of storing whole text, I just said, that whenever I ask for latest revision, I go again in DB and check revision 65 Question: Is this setup the best? Is it better to store the diff, or whole text (i know, place is cheap...)? Does that revision flag make sense (wouldn't it be better to just copy text - more disk space, but less db and php processing. php I'm thinking, that I'll go with PEAR here. Although main point is to open-edit-save, possiblity to view revisions can't be that hard to program and can be life-saver in certain situations (good ideas got deleted, saving wrong version, etc...). However, I've never used PEAR in a long-time or full-project relationship, however, brief encounters in my previous experience left rather bad feeling - as I remember, it was too difficult to implement, slow and humongous to play with, so I don't know, if there's anything better. why? Although there are bazillions of various time/project/idea management tools, everything lacks something for me, whether it's sharing with users, syncing on more PCs, time-tracking, project management... And I believe, that this text diff webapp will be for internal use with various different tools later. So if you know any good and nice-UI-having project management app with support for text-heavy usage, just let me know, so I'll save my time for something better than redesigning the weel.

• Setting the type of a field in a superclass from a subclass (Java)

  Hi. I am writing a project on Google App Engine, within it I have a number of abstract classes that I hope I will be able to use in my future projects, and a number of concrete classes inheriting from them. Among other abstract classes I have an abstract servlet that does user management, and I hava an abstract user. The AbstractUser has all the necessary fields and methods for storing it in the datastore and telling whether the user is registered with my service or not. It does not implement any project specific functionality. The abstract servlet that manages users, refers only to the methods declared in the AbstractUser class, which allows it to generate links for logging in, logging out and registering (for unregistered users). In order to implement the project-specific user functionality I need to subclass the Abstract user. The servlets I use in my project are all indirect descendants from that abstract user management servlet, and the user is a protected field in it, so the descendant servlets can use it as their own field. However, whenever i want to access any project specific method of the concrete user, i need to cast it to that type. i.e. (abstract user managing servlet) ... AbstractUser user = getUser(); ... abstract protected AbstractUser getUser(); (project-specific abstract servlet) @Override protected AbstractUser getUser() { return MyUserFactory.getUser(); } any other project specific servlet: int a = ((ConcreteUser) user).getA(); Well, what i'd like to do is to somehow make the type of “user” in the superclass depend on something in the project-specific abstract class. Is it at all possible? And i don't want to move all the user-management stuff into a project-specific layer, for i would like to have it for my future projects already written :) Thank you for your help.

  I am wondering if you would create a repository for each subclass of a domain model.   I have a method that counts the number of Contacts each Supplier, Customer and Manufacturer has (this is a scenario to try make explaining easier!) The models are all created by Linq to SQL classes. Each Supplier, Customer and Manufacturer may have one or more Contacts public int CountContacts<TModel>(TModel entity) where TModel : class { return entity.Contacts.Count(); } The above of course doesnt work, because the 'entity' is generic and doesnt know whether it has the property 'Contacts'. Can someone help with how to achieve this?

  Hi, I have a .NET 2.0 class the properties of which are marked virtual.I need to use the class as a model in a MVC2 application. So, I have created a .NET 3.5 class inheriting from the .NET 2.0 class and added the DataAnnotations attributes to the overriden properties in the new class. A snippet of what I have done is below // .NET 2.0 class public class Customer { private string _firstName = ""; public virtual string FirstName { get { return _firstName; } set { _firstName = value; } } } // .NET 3.5 class public class MVCCustomer : Customer { [Required(ErrorMessage="Firstname is required")] public override string FirstName { get { return base.FirstName; } set { base.FirstName = value; } } } I have used the class as the model for a MVC2 view using the HtmlFor helpers. Serverside validation works correctly but the client side validation does not. Specifically the validation error is not displayed on the page. • Nhibernate equivalent of LinqToEntitiesDomainService in RIA

  Hi, When using Entity Framework with RIA domain services, domain services are inherited from LinqToEntitiesDomainService, which, I suppose, allows you to make linq queries on a low level (client-side) which propagate into ORM; meaning that all queries are performed on the database and only relevant results are retrieved to the server and thus the client. Example: var query = context.GetCustomersQuery().Where(x => x.Age > 50); Right now we have a domain service which inherits from DomainService, and retrieves data through NHibernate session as in: virtual public IQueryable<Customer> GetCustomers() { return sessionManager.Session.Linq<Customer>(); } The problem with this approach is that it's impossible to make specific queries without retrieving entire tables to the server (or client) and filtering them there. Is there a way to make linq querying work with NHibernate over RIA like it works with EF? If not, we're willing to switch to EF because of this, because performance impact would be just too severe.   I'm getting data where the database is hidden behind a WCF service. Is it possible to use Entity Framework in a scenario where I have custom objects coming from a web service? (No access to the external database, and no current plans for insert/update/delete logic) Starting with an empty EF model and adding an entity I get this error on compile: No mapping specified for instances of the EntitySet and AssociationSet in the EntityContainer .. Is it possible to make an entity this way, and fill it with data received from an object? (In this case a WCF, but could also be a predefined model class/xml data) If the web service retured a Customer object I could do something like this with a dataset: Make an unbound table and do a loop through the customer properties adding them to a temp row, add it with tbl_Customer.Addtbl_CustomerRow(customerRow) to get my view filled. thanks, nakori

• Magento with Mailchimp -----adding checkboxes programmatically

  Hi there, I have just created a mailchimp account and I have one question. I'm quite new to mailchimp. In my customer dashboard (of magento) i want to create a list subscribe form. Now I have a list of checkboxes that i run using a for next loop. I want to put these checkboxes in my mailchimp form and according to what the customer choices, the mailchimp list is updated. Ex. I have various categories (Apparel, furniture etc) these are set up from Magento backend and they have to be dynamic. These checkboxes are set up in a table. In Mailchimp I want to create user lists or one list with a group containing sub categories, that are created by my Magento code. I was wondering if this is possible. I am using webservice to create Order in Oracle database and websvc will give a response (OrderNumber) and I will inform customer that his Order (OrderNumber) is generated My problem The creation of order is taking too much time in backend system and user is keeping refreshing the page, On each refresh user is coming back to Order create Page, so user is able to click on create Order button again In such cases multiple orders are creating for same orderlines.I can restrict user to create only one order per session in case I got order number in websvc response and I can give ordernumber to customer in next page But real problem come when I didn't get response(Ordernumber) and user is refreshing page. request is already went to Backend system and it will create order and my applicaion will not get response Is there any method in PHP where we can asyncronously check the status of order if first request is initiated by user and it doesn't matter the furthur page navigation Please help me out..   Hello, I have a Customer with Orders and those have products. Everything aggregated with collections of type ObservableCollection. All 3 collections are bound to a datagrid/combobox. I can only make the root collection (ObservableCollection Customers{ get;set;} ) passing to a CollectionView so I can move the current customer within the combobox. But how can I move around the current Order in the datagrid? How to pass the selected Orders to another CollectionView ? Does all this maybe not work?

• How to customize a many-to-many inline model in django admin

  I'm using the admin interface to view invoices and products. To make things easy, I've set the products as inline to invoices, so I will see the related products in the invoice's form. As you can see I'm using a many-to-many relationship. In models.py: class Product(models.Model): name = models.TextField() price = models.DecimalField(max_digits=10,decimal_places=2) class Invoice(models.Model): company = models.ForeignKey(Company) customer = models.ForeignKey(Customer) products = models.ManyToManyField(Product) In admin.py: class ProductInline(admin.StackedInline): model = Invoice.products.through class InvoiceAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): inlines = [FilteredApartmentInline,] admin.site.register(Product, ProductAdmin) The problem is that django presents the products as a table of drop down menus (one per associated product). Each drop down contains all the products listed. So if I have 5000 products and 300 are associated with a certain invoice, django actually loads 300x5000 product names. Also the table is not aesthetic. How can I change it so that it'll just display the product's name in the inline table? Which form should I override, and how?

  I am trying to write dynamic Linq Library query to fetch record on condition, Customers who has order count is greater than 3 and ShipVia field equal 2. Below is my syntax what i have tried. object[] objArr = new object[10]; objArr[0] = 1; IQueryable<Customer> test = db.Customers.Where("Orders.Count(ShipVia=2)", objArr); and IQueryable<Customer> test = db.Customers.Where("Orders.Any(ShipVia=2).Count()", objArr); But both are not working. In second query Any returns true so it won't work with Count. Suggest me a way to implement this.

• Undefined Results in jQuery Autocomplete

  So I've got the latest versions of jQuery and UI running. I'm using the basic autocomplete invocation and returning valid JSON (validated via JSONLint). $("input#cust_id").autocomplete({ source: yoda.app.base + "/assets/cfc/util/autocomplete.cfc?method=cust", minLength: 2, select: function(event, ui) { log(ui.item ? I can watch the results returned via Firebug and the JSON is correct there as well. Also, while the list only says "undefined" it does say that the same number of times as records returned in JSON. • WPF: Sort of inconsistence in the visual appearence of WPF controls derived by Selector class

  Hello, focused items == selected items but selected items != focused items. Have you ever wondered about that? Do you specially style the backcolor of a focused/selected item ? I ask this question because a user has an enabled button because some customer items are selected. The user is wondering now "why the heck can I delete this customers (button is enabled...) when I have just clicked on the orders control selecting some orders ready to delete (button is enabled too). The thing is the selected customer items are nearly looking grayed out in the default style... Well its sort of inconsistence to the user NOT to the programmer because WE know the behavior. Do you cope with stuff like that?
