    I am unable to create a working executable file by running the make command in a tree previously built on an i386 machine. I'm getting an error message in the form of me@me-desktop:~$ make /usr/bin/ld: i386 architecture of input file `../.. /Lib/libProgram.a(something.o)' is incompatible with i386:x86-64 output I've been told and reassured that this program has been tested and successfully compiled on 64-bit Fedora.   • OpenXML error “file is corrupt and cannot be opened.”

    From time to time I ear some people saying their new web application supports data export to Excel format. So far so good … but they don’t tell the all story … in fact almost all the times what is happening is they are exporting data to a Comma-Separated file or simply exporting GridView rendered HTML to an xls file. Ok … it works but it’s not something I would be proud of. So … yesterday I decided to take a look at the Office Open XML File Formats Specification (Microsoft Office 2007+ format) based on well-known technologies: ZIP and XML. I start by installing Open XML SDK 2.0 for Microsoft Office and playing with some samples. Then I decided to try it on a more complex web application and the “file is corrupt and cannot be opened.” message start happening. Google show us that many people suffer from the same and it seems there are many reasons that can trigger this message. Some are related to the process itself, others with encodings or even styling. Well, none solved my problem and I had to dig … well not that much, I simply change the output file extension to zip and extract the zip content. Then I did the same to the output file from my first sample, compare both zip contents with SourceGear DiffMerge and found that my problem was Culture related. Yes, my complex application sets the Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture  to a non-English culture. For sample purposes I was simply using the ToString method to convert numbers and dates to a string representation but forgot that XML is culture invariant and thus using a decimal separator other than “.” will result in a deserialization problem. I solve the “file is corrupt and cannot be opened.” by using Convert.ToString(object, CultureInfo.InvariantCulture) method instead of the ToString method. Hope this can help someone.

    I have read many other posts but cannot figure this out. eth0 is my external connected to a Comcast modem. The server has internet access with no issues. eth1 is internal and running DHCP for the clients. I have DHCP working just fine, all my clients can get an IP and ping the server but they cannot access the internet.   • Custom app_offline.htm file during publish

    When I publish my ASP.NET MVC application it generates a app_offline.htm file to take the site offline while it updates the website and then deletes the file once the publish is successful. This is cool and I really like the idea, but I want to create my own custom app_offline.htm file that the publish action is aware of and put it somewhere where it doesn't effect my development site - i.e. it doesn't sit in the root of my development site rendering it offline all the time. TIA, Charles EDIT: From the comments on Scott Gu's post about app_offline.htm, it seems that customization of the app_offline.htm file wasn't possible with VS 2005 - has this changed with VS 2008 and now VS 2010?

    Hi, In my ASP.NET MVC app I am rendering out a checkbox using the following code: <%= Html.CheckBoxFor(i=>i.ReceiveRSVPNotifications) %> Now I see that this renders both the checkbox input tag and a hidden input tag. The problem that I am having is when I try retrieve the value from the checkbox using the FormCollection: FormValues["ReceiveRSVPNotifications"] I get the value "true,false". When looking at the rendered out HTML I can see the following: <input id="ReceiveRSVPNotifications" name="ReceiveRSVPNotifications" value="true" type="checkbox"> <input name="ReceiveRSVPNotifications" value="false" type="hidden"> So the FormValues collection seems to join these two values since they have the same name. Any Ideas?

    I'm using TortoiseSVN. I just made quite a few changes to my working copy and now I went to do a commit some of the files went through but at one file named Search.aspx.cs it says Commit failed (details follow): Can't open file 'C:\-----\trunk\.svn\text-base\Search.aspx.cs.svn-base': The system cannot find the file specified. I have tried doing a SVN update and SVN cleanup and nothing is restoring this file. I can't even create a diff because it gives a similar error about missing files. How do I fix this? What did I do to cause it?

  • Populate Android Database From CSV file?

    Is it possible to take a csv file stored in the res/raw resource directory and use it to populate a table in the sqlite3 database? My thought was that, if there was a way to do a bulk import for the entire file into the table then that would be cleaner and faster than iterating over each line in the file and executing individual insert statements... I've found that there is a sqlite import command that allows this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1045910/how-can-i-import-load-a-sql-or-csv-file-into-sqlite ...but I'm having trouble applying those statements in my Android application. My first thought was to try something like the following...but no luck: db.execSQL("CREATE TABLE " + TABLE_NAME + "(id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, name TEXT)"); db.execSQL(".mode csv"); db.execSQL(".import res/raw/MyFile.csv " + TABLE_NAME); Is this possible? I ran the following command: Setup.exe /r which lunched the installer, but it never created the setup.iss file.     Hi I am trying to get RecursiveDirectoryIterator class using a extension on the FilterIterator to work but for some reason it is iterating on the root directory only. my code is this. class fileTypeFilter extends FilterIterator { public function __construct($path) { parent::__construct(new RecursiveDirectoryIterator($path)); } public function accept() { $file = $this->getInnerIterator()->current(); return preg_match('/\.php/i', $file->getFilename()); } } $it = new RecursiveDirectoryIterator('./'); $it = new fileTypeFilter($it); foreach ($it as $file) { echo $file; } my directory structure is something like this. -Dir1 --file1.php --file2.php -Dir2 --file1.php etc etc But as I said before the class is not recursively iterating over the entire directory structure and is only looking at the root. Question is, how do use a basic RescursiveDirectoryIterator to display folders and then run the FilterIterator to only show the php files in those directorys? Cheers

    I was wondering if there is a way in Netbeans (v 6.8, or whatever) to have the editor tabs colored based on which project the file belongs to? Or some other easy way to distinguish which project a file belongs to. Basically my problem is that I have 3-4 netbeans projects, which all have a very similar code base (production version, staging version, development version 1, development version 2), and sometimes I have files open from a few different projects, and I get confused as to which project the file belongs to. And I know that you can hover over the tab and you can see which project it belongs to, but it would be fantastic if there was another, easier way to visually distinguish which project a file belongs to.

    We have JSF web application that generates XLS file and gives user link to thes file. All works fine if access this file via HTTP. But IE(8) cannot open/save this xls file via HTTPS. There is following error message: Internet Explorer cannot download ...466088C5C313F92808BDB0AFF3447 from testhost. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. I can open the same document via HTTPS in Firefox and in Chrome. What can be the problem with IE?     Using C# WATIN, how do I get the value of the second occurence of a INPUT tag html element on a page? I've tried a whole bunch of things and haven't succeeded. The debugger isn't giving me any obvious way to get element[1] among the 4 that returned. Console.WriteLine(ie.Element(Find.ByClass("myclass")).GetAttributeValue("value") ) ; // works but prints the value of the 1st of 4 input elements on the page Console.WriteLine(ie.ElementsWithTag("input", "text").Length.ToString() ); // returns the number 4 Console.WriteLine( ie.Element(Find.ByName("login")).GetAttributeValue("value") ); // works but its not safe since its possible there might be two elements with the name login Basically, I want to be able to select the input element by its array index.

  • Create pdf file with ghostscript

    Hello, I'm using SCO Unix, with old version of ghostscript (7.7). When I convert the postscript source file to pdf otput file, It's content is visible on the SCO machine. But when I copy the pdf file into windows, and open it with adobe acrobat, all I can see is a blank page. Does anybody have a solution to this?
