  • installing application packages on ubuntu usb

    I'm new to ubuntu. I downloaded the newest version on a usb stick then I booted my PC with the usb. upon trying out ubuntu I tried installing additional packages/applications, which worked fine. BUT when I then after tried using my ubuntu usb, the new installed apps were not there! if I get that right, ubuntu would only install new packages to the actual PC I'm using it on. not within ubuntu itself!? is there a way that I can install new applications to my ubuntu usb and it should stay within ubuntu so I can use it for other pc's which don't have an internet connection necessary to update/install packages ? thanks so much

    I m a Software Development major in an Associates of Applied Science degree in Software Development and I ll have a 2nd Associates of Applied Science degree in Information Technology. I m 37 ill be 39 when finished. I enjoy coding HTML so far and networking and windows admin. Are people my age finding jobs right away after school or should i just keeping going to the state university in the CS degree? I kinda want to work. The account that controls your Engage membership now has an email address of: fasheikh15%[email protected]. How can I fix this? Go to the sign-in page: Sign In Log in with your normal password but instead use the following email address: myemailadd%[email protected] You will then be given the option to switch your Engage member profile to: [email protected]. If you wish to do this then just follow the on-screen instructions when you get to the Switch Accounts page. I've been contacting them since April to no avail so I thought I'd see if anyone here has any fixes?

We have built a Web portal-based collaboration platform that we would like to host on five different Windows- and Linux-based servers in different hosting environments that run Web servers. Each of these Windows and Linux servers have a different host name and domain name (and IP address). Out team would appreciate your guidance on: (1) Is there a way to implement this Web portal-based platform on these Linux servers without customizing the host name, domain name and IP address for each individual instance? (2) Is there a way to create some variables using JavaScript for host name and domain name and call them from the different implementations? (3) Can these JavaScript modules be made portable and re-usable object modules for different environments and instances? The portal is written in JavaScript that is embedded in HTML5 and padded with CSS3. Other technologies include Flash, Flex. Databases used are PostgreSQL and MySQL.

I started learning website making by having tutorials from w3schools.com but after doing taking the HTML tutorials I don't think I really can do anything with it. Maybe I don't know everything about HTML yet. I know the online tutorials are not enough but what I need you guys to tell me is that how can I learn making some nice websites. I have vacations for two months now and I think it would be the best time for me to learn making websites as I really love to be a website developer. Now I would like to start from the scratch. I know some C language (though I know it will not help me). So tell me from where shall I learn HTML and what all things shall I learn after that and in what order. If you can also help me with the material (let it be books or online tutorials). But I would like to know how can I gain confidence that I can make some websites as just learning online tutorials doesn't help me much. I also tried some video tutorials but in that too, they will just tell me some of the functions and not all. So what am I supposed to do.. just know a limited functions as they want me to know in video tutorials or do something else.
