    Hi my question Need to get the 10 word before and 10 words after for the given text . i mean need to start the 10 words before the keyword and end with 10 word after the key word.     I writing a webapp which uploads images to imgur directly. Since all older version of their APIs have been deprecated i am forced to use v3 of their APIs. Unfortunately I am unable to get the API to work.     Hi everybody, We have a web server that we're about to launch a number of applications onto. They will all share database and memcached servers, but each application has it's own mySQL database and all memcached keys per application, is prefixed. Possible scenario: If a memcached server in our cluster goes boom, we want someone (operative system admin) to be automatically contacted by email/iphone push notification or in any other appropriate way. If we we're about to install 150 identical applications for our customers on our servers, and a memcached server dies - all 150 applications will individually find this out and contact our system admin, which most certainly is going to think about getting a new job where he or she isn't about to be woken up by getting 150 messages sent 4:15 in the morning. Possible solution: One idea is to set up an external server for error handling that gets a $_POST or cURL request sent, and handles storage of the error message depending on the seriousness of the actual error message. It would of course check upon receiving the error call, that if the same memcached server have already been reported as offline, there would be no need to spam the system admin with additional reminders... The questions: What's a good approach on how to handle errors? How does the big guys in the industry handle this? Thanks!

    When I run a very simple imap_search on my GMail inbox, the search returns less messages than it should. Here is the script that anyone with a GMail account can run. $host = '{imap.gmail.com:993/imap/ssl}'; $user = 'foo'; $pass = 'bar'; $imapStream = imap_open($host,$user,$pass) or die(imap_last_error()); $messages = imap_search($imapStream,"ALL"); echo count($messages); imap_close($imapStream); This returns 39 messages. But, I've got 100 messages in my inbox, some in conversations, some forwarded from another account (SquirrelMail, FWIW). Can anyone duplicate these results, and/or tell me what's going on? I have used array($tmp_list) but I get the values in one line only like: [0] => 'COB,ISJ,NSJ,' instead of [0] => 'COB', [1] => 'ISJ', [2] => 'NSJ' All help is appriciated.

  • php paging and the use of limit clause

    Imagine you got a 1m record table and you want to limit the search results down to say 10,000 and not more than that. So what do I use for that? Well, the answer is use the limit clause. example select recid from mytable order by recid asc limit 10000 This is going to give me the last 10,000 records entered into this table. So far no paging. But the limit phrase is already in use. That brings to question to the next level. What if I want to page thru this record particular record set 100 recs at a time? Since the limit phrase is already part of the original query, how do I use it again, this time to take care of the paging? If the org. query did not have a limit clause to begin with, I'd adjust it as limit 0,100 and then adjusting it as 100,100 and then 200,100 and so on while the paging takes it course. But at this time, I cannot. You almost think you'd want to use two limit phrases one after the other - which is not not gonna work. limit 10000 limit 0,1000 for sure it would error out. So what's the solution in this particular case?

I can use regex to extract the info with preg_match_all but I feel this is not the right way as the data is already well structured. Any other method ?

    Hello, I have a news site containing an archive with more than 1 million news. I created a word definitions database with about 3000 entries, consisting of word-definition pairs. What I want to do is adding a definition next to every occurence of these words in the news. I cant make a static change as I can add a new keyword everyday, so i can make it realtime or cached. The question is, a str_replace or a preg_replace would be very slow for searching 3 thousand keywords in a text and replacing them. Are there any fast alternatives?
