• EPM 11.1.2.2.000 release - considerations

We want to highlight the "Installation Information" section which includes the following late-breaking information: Business Rules Migration to Calculation Manager Oracle Hyperion Calculation Manager has replaced Oracle Hyperion Business Rules as the mechanism for designing and managing business rules, therefore, Business Rules is no longer released with EPM System Release 11.1.2.2. If you are applying 11.1.2.2 as a maintenance release, or upgrading to Release 11.1.2.2, and have been using Business Rules in an earlier release, you must migrate to Calculation Manager rules in Release 11.1.2.2. (See Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and Configuration Guide.) Planning User Interface Enhancements This release of Planning includes a large number of user interface enhancements, as described in Oracle Hyperion Planning New Features. To optimize performance with these new features, you must implement the following recommended configuration. Server: 64-bit, 16 GB physical RAM Client: Optimized for Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 10 or higher Client-to-Server Connectivity: High-speed internet connection or VPN connection between client and server, client-to-server ping time < 150 milliseconds for best performance The new, improved Planning user interface requires efficient browsers to handle interactivity provided through Web 2.0 like functionality. In our testing, Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, and Firefox 3.x are not sufficient to handle such interactivity, and the responsiveness in these versions of browsers is not as fast as the user interface in the previous releases of Planning. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you upgrade your browser to Internet Explorer 9 or Firefox 10 to get responsiveness similar to what you experienced in previous releases. In some instances, the response times in Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.x could be acceptable. Hence, we suggest that you uptake the new user interface only after you conduct an end user response test and you are satisfied with the results of these tests for these versions of browsers. Please note that it is still possible to leverage the old user interface and features from Planning Release 11.1.2.1. (For more information, see “Using the Planning Release 11.1.2.1 User Interface and Features” in the Oracle Hyperion Planning Administrator's Guide.) IBM HTTP Server and IIS Default Ports Both IBM HTTP Server and IIS Web Server use 80 as their default port. • ls -l freezes terminal locally and remotely

  I've been reading other SF threads regarding ls not returning results or freezing and stalling terminal sessions and it appears they usually the fault of network problems. My problem however, occurs both over remote SSH sessions but also if I am physically at the server itself... I just installed CentOS 5.4 on one of our servers. I'm setting up some rdiff-backup scripts and when I downloaded librsync and untared it, thats when I started seeing some weird behavior with ls -l. wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/librsync/files/librsync/0.9.7/librsync-0.9.7.tar.gz/download /tmp cd /tmp tar -xzf librsync-0.9.7.tar.gz Simple enough. To view the files in this directory I did this: ls results: librsync-0.9.7 librsync-0.9.7.tar.gz Now, if I ls -l, my terminal freezes. I have to re-ssh in to keep going. After reading SF threads, I thought it was network related. So I was extremely surprised to go sit down at the server itself and see the exact same thing happen... So its obviously not a network issues. Even if I ls /tmp/librsync-0.9.7, my terminal freezes just the same...   As mentioned in the title, I had nginx working fine with my rails app, until I tried to add the ssl server. • No audio with headphones, but audio works with integrated speakers

  My speakers work correctly, but when I plug in my headphones, they don't work. I am running Ubuntu 10.04. My audio card is Realtek ALC259 My laptop model is a HP G62t a10em In another thread someone fixed a similar issue (headphones work, speakers not) folowing this: sudo vi /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf (or some other editor instead of Vi) Append the following at the end of the file: alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel options snd-hda-intel model=auto Reboot but it doesnt work for me. I have reinstalled the following packages and rebooter: -alsa-hda-realtek-ignore-sku-dkms -alsa-modules-2.6.32-25-generic -alsa-source -alsa-utils -linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic -linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic-pae -linux-sound-base -(i think i listed them all) After rebooting, the audio worked, both in speakers and headphones.   There is a new version of jtreg available. The primary new feature is support for tests that have been written for use with TestNG, the popular open source testing framework. TestNG is supported by a variety of tools and plugins, which means that it is now possible to develop tests for OpenJDK using those tools, while still retaining the ability to have the tests be part of the OpenJDK test suite, and run with a single test harness, jtreg. jtreg can be downloaded from the OpenJDK jtreg page: http://openjdk.java.net/jtreg. TestNG support jtreg supports both single TestNG tests, which can be freely intermixed with other types of jtreg tests, and groups of TestNG tests. A single TestNG test class can be compiled and run by providing a test description using the new action tag: @run testng classname The test will be executed by using org.testng.TestNG. No main method is required. A group of TestNG tests organized in a standard package hierarchy can also be compiled and run by jtreg. Any such group must be identified by specifying the root directory of the package hierarchy. You can either do this in the top level TEST.ROOT file, or in a TEST.properties file in any subdirectory enclosing the group of tests. In either case, add a line to the file of the form: TestNG.dirs = dir ... Directories beginning with '/' are evaluated relative to the root directory of the test suite; otherwise they are evaluated relative to the directory containing the declaring file. Library classes The specification for the @library tag has been extended so that any paths beginning with '/' will be evaluated relative to the root directory of the test suite. In addition, some bugs have been fixed that prevented sharing the compiled versions of library classes between tests in different directories. Note: This has uncovered some issues in tests that use a combination of @build and @library tags, such that some tests may fail unexpectedly with ClassNotFoundException. The workaround for now is to ensure that library classes are listed before the test classes in any @build tags. To specify one or more library directories for a group of TestNG tests, add a line of the following form to the TEST.properties file in the root directory of the group's package hierarchy: lib.dirs = dir ... • Git on Windows 7 expecting Linux? /dev/null not found error

  I have installed git (not GitHub) on Windows 7 x64 Home Premium, and I cannot get it to work. Opening Git Bash outputs the following: Welcome to Git (version 1.9.4-preview20140815) Run 'git help git' to display the help index. Run 'get help <command>' to display help for specific commands. sh.exe": /dev/null: No such file or directory sh.exe": /dev/null: No such file or directory sh.exe": /dev/null: No such file or directory sh.exe": /dev/null: No such file or directory sh.exe": /dev/null: No such file or directory sh.exe": /dev/null: No such file or directory Andy@ANDY-DELL ~ $ If I open the Git GUI, I get a this box: Title: git-gui: fatal error Content: fatal: open /dev/null or dup failed: No such file or directory Git Gui requires Git 1.5.0 or later. I also tried GitHub for Windows, but I got an internet connection error when attempting to clone a repo, even though my connection is fine. Is this possibly related? I have learned so far that /dev/null is the Linux version of the Windows NUL, but why is it trying to do this on Windows? Thanks in advance.

  I have a hybrid asp.net web forms / mvc application that I recently converted to .net 4 with mvc2. I have set-up that application to run on IIS 7.5 (on Windows 7) and the web forms part of the site is running okay but the MVC part is not. Whenever I try and access a page that needs to go through the routing engine I get HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Module IIS Web Core Notification MapRequestHandler Handler StaticFile Error Code 0x80070002 I'm debugging this web site through VS2010 (so I've set-it-up to use IIS instead of Cassini) and when I put a break point in the Application_Start function it is never hit so the routes are never registered. When I put a break point in the Page_Load function in one of the aspx page code-behinds it gets hit. So it seems that the problem is that the route is not being registered. What am I missing?

• Windows Start Menu Not Staying on Top

  Hey everyone. I've had this problem since Windows Vista. I did a clean install with Windows 7 and hoped it would fix the problem. Also swapped out the video card just to rule out a strange driver issue. Here's what's happening. After running for some period of time (usually a few hours), the Start button/orb will loose it's "Chrome" and turn into a plain button that just says "Start." It will work fine for a while, but then the start menu will just stop showing. Additionally, when I hit Win+D to show the desktop, the entire taskbar completely disappears. I can get it back usually by moving/minimizing windows that may be overlapping where the start menu should show. Otherwise, it requires either a full reboot or I'll end up killing & restarting the explorer.exe process. • Why does Internet Explorer break "pegman" display in Google Maps API v3?

• How can I get TFS 2010 to build each project to a separate directory?

  In our project, we'd like to have our TFS build put each project into its own folder under the drop folder, instead of dropping all of the files into one flat structure. To illustrate, we'd like to see something like this: DropFolder/ Foo/ foo.exe Bar/ bar.dll Baz baz.dll This is basically the same question as was asked here, but now that we're using workflow-based builds, those solutions don't seem to work. The solution using the CustomizableOutDir property looked like it would work best for us, but I can't get that property to be recognized. I customized our workflow to pass it in to MSBuild as a command line argument (/p:CustomizableOutDir=true), but it seems MSBuild just ignores it and puts the output into the OutDir given by the workflow. I looked at the build logs, and I can see that the CustomizableOutDir and OutDir properties are both getting set in the command line args to MSBuild. I still need OutDir to be passed in so that I can copy my files to TeamBuildOutDir at the end. Any idea why my CustomizableOutDir parameter isn't getting recognized, or if there's a better way to achieve this?

• Why is this simple jQuery hover event misbehaving in Internet Explorer 8?

  I asked for help earlier on Stackoverflow involving highlighting spans with the same Class when a mouse hovers over any Span with that same Class. Here is a screenshot of it in IE8, with my mouse hovered over the " min) { min" section in the middle. As you can see, it highlighted the span that the mouse is hovering over perfectly fine. However, it has also highlighted some random spans above and below it that don't have the same class! Only the span's with the same Class as the one where the mouse is over should be highlighted green. In this screenshot, only that middle green section should be green. Here is a screenshot of it working properly in Firefox/Chrome with my mouse in the exact same position: This screenshot is correct as the span that the mouse is over (the green section) is the only one in this section that shares that class. Why is IE8 randomly green-highlighting spans when it shouldn't be (they don't share the same class) using my little jQuery snippet? I can see that the DelayedCall instances are in reactor._newTimedCalls, but processResponse never gets called. • jquery $.getJSON only works once in internet explorer Help Please!!!

  I have a php function which inserts a searchbar into each page on a website. The site checks to see if the user has javascript enabled and if they do it inserts some jquery ajax stuff to link select boxes (instead of using it's fallback onchange="form.submit()"). $.getJSON works perfectly for me in other browsers except in IE, if I do a full page refresh (ctrl+F5) in IE my ajax works flawlessly until I navigate to a new page (or the same page with $PHP_SELF) either by submiting the form or clicking a link the jquery onchange function fires but then jquery throws an error: Webpage error details Message: Object doesn't support this property or method Line: 123 Char: 183 Code: 0 URI: http://~#UNABLE~TO~DISCLOSE#~/jquery-1.4.2.min.js It seems like jquery function $.getJSON() is gone??? Here's how it's setup: sample directory tree c:/inetpub/ (nothing in here) d:/web_files/my_web_apps d:/web_files/my_web_apps/app1/ d:/web_files/my_web_apps/app2/ d:/web_files/my_web_apps/html_files/ app1 and app2 both access the same html_files directory, so html_files is set as a virtual directory in the web apps in IIS... sample web directory tree //app1/html_files/ (points to physical directory: d:/web_files/my_web_apps/html_files/) //app2/html_files/ (points to physical directory: d:/web_files/my_web_apps/html_files/) If I put a file called test.html in the root of //app1/ and then add the default mapping to the asp.net dll and setup my security on the root folder with deny="?", then accessing test.html works exactly as expected. If I'm not authenticated, it takes me to the login.aspx page, and if I am authenticated then it displays test.html. If I put the test.html file in the html_files directory I get a totally different behavior. Now the login.aspx page loads and I stuck some code in to check if I was still authenticated: <p>autheticated: <%=User.Identity.IsAuthenticated%></p> I figured it would say false because why else would it bother to load the login page? Nope, it says true - so it knows i'm authenticated, but it won't give me access to the test.html file. I've spent several hours on this and haven't been able to solve it. I'm going to spend some more time on google to see if I've missed something. Fingers crossed.

• Ubuntu rm not deleting files

  My colleague and I have been struggling with deleting a directory and its contents. We are working on a new version of our websites source code on Ubuntu 8.04 (dir: /var/www/websites), what we want to do is delete the websites directory and recreate it from a .tar backup we created a couple weeks ago. The purpose of this is so we can run our deployment procedure in a local environment before we do so on our live / public environment. We use this command: rm -r websites This deletes the directory and the files within it. The problem occurs when we un-tar our backup file and view the website we are getting files that don't exist in the .tar backup, in fact these files were only created a few days ago and should have been deleted. We delete the directory once more in the manner stated above, we then create a new websites directory using the mkdir command. Strangely at this stage the 'deleted files' do not come back, but if we unpack our .tar file the 'deleted files' appear again. Is there a way to ensure these files are deleted, or at least the pointers that associate them with said directory. Our .tar backup does not include these files We do not want to use the shred command We do not want to use 3rd party applications Solution should be functional via terminal (SSH) Many thanks! EDIT Er... we fixed it. Turns out the files that are reappearing are because of a link we have to another directory (outside the /var/www/websites), we were restoring the link but not deleting the files on the other end. • Blackberry MDS simulator - Can't connect to the internet in the simulator.

  I'm trying to do some testing of a website through the Blackberry simulator, while the simulator works fine, I can't get to any sites in the Blackberry Browser. Here is the specific setup I'm using. I'm Windows 7 (64-bit) Home Edition I have the latest (at the time) MDS installation - BlackBerry Email and MDS Services Simulators 4.1.4 Finally, I have the latest (at the time) Blackberry Simulator - BlackBerry Smartphone Simulators 5.0.0 (5.0.0.442) - 9700 I first start the MDS service, it briefly pops up the command-prompt and then closes it. I'm assuming that when it does that, it started the MDS service. Then I open the Blackberry simulator (9700), which opens up fine and loads the Blackberry OS. Then with the Blackberry OS all loaded up, I navigate to the browser and for example type www.google.com and then at the bottom it just says "sending request" and loads for about a minute. Then times out and says it can't find a connection. Anyone have any thoughts on what I'm missing? Or, does anyone know of an online simulator for the Blackberry, because thus far this has been a huge pain for testing sites on a Blackberry. Thank you! Ben

• Allow access from outside network with dmz and iptables

  I'm having a problem with my home network. So my setup is like this: In my Router (using Ubuntu desktop v11.04), I installed squid proxy as my transparent proxy. So I would like to use dyndns to my home network so I could be access my server from the internet, and also I installed CCTV camera and I would like to enable watching it from internet. The problem is I cannot access it from outside the net. I already set DMZ in my modem to my router ip. My first guess is because i'm using iptables to redirect all inside network to use squid. And not allow from outside traffic to my inside network.
