    I'm with a really weird bug with asp.net mvc2 (rtm) and ValidationMessageFor. The example below throws a System.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException on Response.Write(Html.ValidationMessageFor(n = n[index].Name)); Any ideas why thats happening? I'm accessing the same dictionary twice before, but it only throws the error on ValidationMessageFor, any thoughts?   • CSS Rollover button bug

    Hi Everyone, I'm trying to create a drop down button and its almost working except one little bug. I have several big buttons that change background color when the user hovers over them and one of them, the language button, displays several suboptions inside itself when the user hovers over it. That all works fine except the language button doesn't change its background color when the user hovers over it. It does change its color if the cursor is just inside the button but not if it touches the 3 sub options. What i need is a technique or a rule that states that the button will change background color if user hovers over it or if the user hovers over one of its children elements. How do I achieve this?   • bug/error in basis set path algorithm i can't figure out

    The following looks through a 2d array to find basis set paths. It is supposed to print out the individual paths but not repeat any and end when all paths are found. It however doesn't stop at the last path and has a bug in it somewhere in which the following happens: It goes halfway through the path and then goes to zero and ends the path for some reason. For example the table is filled with the following: all 0s, except for [1][2], [1][3], [2][4], [2][5], [3][5], [4][6], [5][6], [6][0] which all have a 1 in them. The desired paths are P1: 1 2 4 6 0 P2: 1 3 5 6 0 P3: 1 2 5 6 0. The output I get when i run the program is 12460 13560 1250 124 Any and all help on this is much appreciated, this is just the function that scans through the array looking for paths, I can add the entire program if that would be helpful. Now, the wicked bug: - when I run the startRecognition method in the beginning of the execution of the other application, this codes works very well. But when I run it some time after the beginning, this codes works but the handleRecognition method is never called. I see that the words are recognized because they appear on the Microsoft Speech Recognition app, but the handler method is never called. Do you know what's the problem with this code? NOTE: this project has some code that is allways being executed. Might that be the problem? Because the other code is running it doesn't allow it to this to run?

They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. Restoring original system state I am using command line "do-release-upgrade" I have changed my dns to google public dns and verified that using nslookup and host -v could not find bg.archive.ubuntu.com in any of the source list files. not only in that in another tab I have ping google running just to verify that network is not down. Network has no issues.

    The dvd-drive of a notebook is a MatshitaBD-CMB UJ-120 Hint for you. e.g. Debian Installation-CD with Debian 6.0 resp. Debian 6.0.3 was working fine and has no trouble with this device. Installation-CD with Debian 6.0.4 is behaving same like the Ubuntu-Server-12.04-CD. They both don't recognize this dvd-combo-drive above, This problem was solved with Kernel 3.2.24.x and 3.4.x Happy Coding. Regards. dschinn1001 PS: see comment following below !

  • Why does grub selection no longer appear on my dual-boot system?

    I had installed a Ubuntu 12.04 and Fedora 17 dual boot on my system. During the installation I had installed Ubuntu first and Fedora later. Fedora had recognized Ubuntu and added it to the GRUB OS selection list. Afterwards I installed some routine updates on my Ubuntu and after that I am just not able to see the GRUB OS selection anymore when I boot. I am unable to understand what happened, both Fedora and Ubuntu use GRUB 2.0. Also it seems Ubuntu is not able to recognize other existing linux operating systems; because in the beginning I had installed Fedora first and Ubuntu later, but Ubuntu did not recognize Fedora at all, while Fedora recognized Ubuntu when I installed the other way round.

  • USB mouse freezes

    A simple Microsoft Optical mouse 1000 (USB) that runs perfectly on Windows, freezes up under Ubuntu 10.x and Fedora 1x after about 10 minutes of using the OS.Rebooting, the same problem comes up again in a few minutes. Interestingly, the problem does not occur when Ubuntu is installed in Oracle VirtualBox VM. Installing Ubuntu "as usual" (i.e. not in a VM), causes the problem to occur. Has any one here faced the same problem or have a solution for it? Maybe using a different mouse that is known to work with Ubuntu 10.x? If it helps my system is: Asus P5NSLI motherboard (nVidia nForce 570 chipset), 4 GB RAM Ubuntu 10.10 refers to "32 bit" version of Ubuntu It seems that Ubuntu has a lot of all types of freeze issues. Can someone recommend a version of Ubuntu that is fairly recent and stable ? I intend to use Ubuntu for Ruby on Rails development.

  • Files: Name column basically useless in list view. Feature or bug?

    So the following is happening in Files whenever the width of the window is somewhat smaller than all the content of the list: In list view the name column is cropped unto a point where no name is visible at all! And it is even not possible to change the column size manually. Funnily, in some situations it quickly flickers from a larger column width to the small one back and forth before settling on the small size. Unnecessarily to say, it is extremely annoying. Is there a way around this or is this just "bad design"? Oh yeah, Ubuntu 13.04 & 13.10, Files version 3.8.2.

    I see a lot of stuff online related to fixing buttons that can't be pressed, and fixing network issues with proxies. This seems like a different problem to me, related to jem.util.0.0.0 in the case of maven2 or needed libs for other plugins. The setup: Eclipse 3.5.1 (Galileo) installed with apt-get. Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) (This is running as a VM, not that is should matter.) General problem description: Maven2 eclipse plugin installation fails. Specifically, I can not install maven2 plugin from the eclipse installation flow using this target site: http://m2eclipse.sonatype.org/sites/m2e/ The maven site is found, installation begins, and then returns this error: Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. Software being installed: Maven Integration for Eclipse (Required) 0.10.0.20100209-0800\ (org.maven.ide.eclipse.feature.feature.group 0.10.0.20100209-0800) Missing requirement: Maven Integration for Eclipse (Required) 0.10.0.20100209-0800 (org\ .maven.ide.eclipse.feature.feature.group 0.10.0.20100209-0800) requires 'org.eclipse.jem.\ util 0.0.0' but it could not be found Official Ubuntu documentation claims eclipse 3.5.1 support, and recommends using the Synaptic Package Manager, and nothing else about any issues.   • How do I preserve installed applications when migrating Ubuntu to another platform?

    I'm looking at maybe moving from an older AMD64 to a new Intel dual-core which is 32 bit. Installation isn't a problem but can I transfer all the installed apps? I haven't been able to find anything so far on Google except where the migration is to a similar platform and file-system. I won't change the filesystem but the platform will be different. Is there something on the lines of the "World" file in Gentoo?

  • Possible iphone animation timing/rendering bug?

    Hi all, I have been working on an iphone apps for several weeks. Now I encounter an animation problem that I can't figure out how to resolve. Mayhbe you can help. Here is the details (a little long, bear with me): Basically the effect I want to achieve is, when user click a button, a loading view pops up, hiding the whole screen; and then the apps does a lot of heavy computation, which takes a few seconds. Once the computation is done, soem result views (something likes checkers on a checker board) are rendered under the loading view. Once all result views are rendered, I used animation animation to remove the loading view nand show the result views to the user. Here is what I do: when user click a button, run this code: [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:1.0]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionCurlDown forView:self.view cache:YES]; [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; [UIView setAnimationDidStopSelector:@selector(loadingViewInserted:finished:context:)]; // use a really high index number so it will always on top [self.view insertSubview:loadingViewController.view atIndex:1000]; [UIView commitAnimations]; In the "loadingViewInserted" function, it calls another function doing the heavy computation work. Once the computation is done, a lot of result views (like checkers on a checker board) are rendered under the loading view. for(int colIndex = 1; colIndex <= result.columns; colIndex++) { for(int rowIndex = 1; rowIndex <= result.rows; rowIndex++) { ResultView *rv = [ResultView resultViewWithData:results[colIndex][rowIndex]]; [self.view addSubview:rv]; } } Once all result views are added, following animation is invoked to remove the loading view: [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:1.0]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionCurlUp forView:self.view cache:YES]; [loadingViewController.view removeFromSuperview]; [UIView commitAnimations]; By doing this, most of the time (maybe 90%) it does exactly what I want. However, sometime I see some weird result: the loading view shows up first as expected, then before it disappears, some result views, which suppose to be under the loading view, suddenly appears on top of the loading view; and some of them are partial rendered. And then the loading view curled up, and everything looks normal again. The weird situation only lasts for less than a second, but already bad enough to screw up the UI. I have tried all different kinds of thing to fix this (using another thread to remove the loading view, make the loading view non-transparent), but none of them works. The only thing that makes a little better is, I hide all the result views first; after the last animation finished, in its call back, unhide all result views. But this loses the nice effect that when curling up the loading view, the results are already there. At this point, I really think this is a bug in iphone (I compile it with OS 3.0) OS. Or maybe you can point out what I have done wrong (or could do differently). (thanks for finishing this long post, :-) )

It occurs in Standards and Quirks mode rendering, it does not occur in Firefox, Chrome or IE8 (though switching the rendering engine via IE8 developer tools will provoke it). There's an unexplained gap between the <div> and the <ul>. Now do one of the following: Uncomment the CSS rule for <h1>. The gap disappears and the list is rendered tight to the <div>, but also very close to the <h1>. Alternatively, uncomment the CSS rule for <ul>. Now a narrow blue border is rendered above the <ul>, but the gap disappears. My questions: How can the <h1> margin (I suppose any block level element with a defined margin will do) affect the space below the list? Can I prevent this from happening without having to set header margins to 0 or messing with the <ul> borders (setting border-width: 0; does not work BTW)? I suppose it is connected to the <ul> having no width because it has only floated children. Maybe someone with more insight into IE7 peculiarities than I have can explain what the rendering engine is doing here. Thanks!

  • How can I change the default GECOS fields under Ubuntu?

    I was wondering if there was a way to change the default GECOS fields on a user. Now, I don't mean change their name, number, shell, etc. What I mean is change the field-type/name itself. Like, for example, since I never use the "Work-Phone" field, could I say, rename it to something else, like "Address" ? Also, is it possible to add completely new field entries as well? All I could really find through searching is how to change the fields that are already set.
