• Install Base Transaction Error Troubleshooting

  Oracle Installed Base is an item instance life cycle tracking application that facilitates enterprise-wide life cycle item management and tracking capability.In a typical process flow a sales order is created and shipped, this updates Inventory and creates a new item instance in Install Base (IB).  The Inventory update results in a record being placed in the SFM Event Queue.  If the record is successfully processed the IB tables are updated, if there is an error the record is placed in the csi_txn_errors table and the error needs to be resolved so that the IB instance can be created.It's extremely important to be proactive and monitor IB Transaction Errors regularly.  Errors cascade and can build up exponentially if not resolved. Due to this cascade effect, error records need to be considered as a whole and not individually; the root cause of any error needs to be resolved first and this may result in the subsequent errors resolving themselves. Install Base Transaction Error Diagnostic Program In the past the IBtxnerr.sql script was used to diagnose transaction errors, this is now replaced by an enhanced concurrent program version of the script.   Hello! I have a managed VPS, so whatever i need i can just ask my support, and they will do it for me. Now i plan to migrate to unmanaged VPS, so i need some guides, tips on how and where to start learning. I will have more specific questions once i start using it, but now i just need some general answers about this topic. Thanks. Update: Ok, i have decided to go for unmanaged VPS with cPanel. OS is CentOS-5. I contacted support only for some small(i think) things like creating new account in whm, some database importing, installing new software(rare)... What i will be using is apache, php, mysql. I think i will be able to cope with upgrading to new versions, so the thing that interests me the most is security i guess.

• Tool/Program/Script/Formula for deciphering Active Directory Connection Strings for 3rd party user i

  We're using WSFTP, which has an Active Directory Integration module. To populate the user accounts you need to provide a connection string akin to: OU=Users,DC=domain,DC=com CN=Domain Users,OU=Users,DC=domain,DC=com Questions: Is there a Tool/Program/Script/Formula that allows me to decipher how these strings might look based on what I can see in Active Directory Users & Computers? Is there a proper/accepted name for these types of connection strings? I don't even know what to Google to get more information about how to format one properly How would I troubleshoot the connection string if I think it looks correctly formatted, but it isn't working? • wireless blocked after installing ubuntu 12.04

  I am using a lenovo S10-3 ideapad; had no problems with earlier version of ubuntu, only since installing 12.04. Have looked through many of the questions on the same issue and tried potential solutions but cannot seem to solve my problem. The hardware switch is in 'on' position and the wireless light comes on very briefly (2-3 sec) when the laptop starts up but then goes off and stays off. Pressing FN+F5 does nothing at all. I'd be grateful for any assistance. • Possible to use DRBD on two ESXi virtualized servers?

  I have two servers (attached disks have been set up as hardware RAID1 for disk device level failure resilience). Here is the setup in my mind: 1) Install ESXi on each of the physical server, M1, M2; 2) Start one VM on each of the ESXi virtualized physical server V1, V2; 3) Install the DRDB drivers within V1 and V2. Essentially, this is a "virtualizing machine running DRBD in the VM's instead of bare metal hardware" idea. My question is whether the above setup can achieve the same "networked RAID1" goal that DRDB can achieve in the bare-metal physical machines (http://www.drbd.org/). Thanks. [EDIT] I found this (http://serverfault.com/questions/49305/drbd-experimentation-and-virtualization) is a similar question, but the answer does not seem to be firmative enough for me to follow.

• 2D Image Creator for a video game

  I need to make a few images for an arcade video game I'm making in Java. As of right now, I have drawings that animate, but there are two problems. The drawings are horrible, and as a result, the game won't get enough attention. It's a pain to have to change each coordinate for the drawing, as the drawings are fairly complex. I'd like to use images. I feel they could solve my problem. They would look better than the drawings, and it would only have an x and a y coordinate, rather than the many coordinates I need for each drawing. So, in a sense, I have two questions. Would images actually help? Would they solve my 2 problems? I just want to clarify. How would I make these images. I don't think I can copy them off of the internet because I plan on publishing this game. So, is there any software where you can make your own images? (It has to be in an image type that Java can support. I'm working with java). It also, as stated by the header, needs to be a 2D image; not 3D

• Using a AWS EC2 Server to host a busy website and I need to set up a loadbalancing

  My company has one EC2 server running on AWS with a MYSQL-DB and Apache on the same instance. This one instance hosts a website built on PHP Zend Framework. The site runs like crap when it starts to get busy with a lot of traffic so I'm looking for some advice on how to set up something that can handle the load better. My first question is should I move the mysql DB on to a separate EC2 instance or perhaps use AWS's RDS service which looks like a nice option. I'm sort of new to some of this but I'm guessing I'll need at least two EC2 instances for serving the website from and some sort of load balancing mechanism to distribute traffic. But maybe not, I'm not sure. Also what are some best practices for how to replicate the data so that they stay in sync on both instances? Okay I know these are a lot of questions. But I don't know where to start so any advice will help.

• ISP issue browsing "sonos.com" - need to diagnose and prove [closed]

  I am unable to browse to a website "sonos.com" with my ISP (virgin). I have ruled out browsers, PCs, macs, routers, wifi, etc. Other ISPs (even other virgin connections in different areas!) supply this site no problem. I am 99% convinced there is a DNS issue lurking here. There is something fishy about the DNS for the site : What I notice is that online DNS sites tell me the right IP address for "sonos.com", but not for "www.sonos.com". Anyway when I type "sonos.com" the browser (any/all of the 4 I tried) fail to display the page. Firefox gives a "connection was reset" error. If I browse to sonos.com using the IP address it works OK. Browsing to www.sonos.com or sonos.com works fine with other ISPs of course. Questions: 1 Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here? 2 Any suggestions as to tools/monitors to help investigate/prove what is going on I can then take this up with virgin and/or sonos. • Unable to access the server via SSH

  when I am trying to access the server through ssh it says: ssh: connect to host xx.yyy.zzz.x port 22: Connection refused and on the server in auth.log it shows following log entry: Address xx.yyy.zzz.x maps to xx.yyy.zzz.x.static-pune-vsnl.net.in, but this does not map back to the address - POSSIBLE BREAK-IN ATTEMPT! I have created a user account for that user and it is also in enabled status. Requested info It is Ubuntu 11.10 It is configured as SSH Server using openssh-server I am trying to connect to this server using Putty from Windows 7 i.e. My Desktop I have also asked this on AskUbuntu: http://askubuntu.com/questions/118556/unable-to-access-the-server-via-ssh

• Transferring analog media (VHS casettes, vinyl records) to PC

  I have some VHSs and vinyl records which I'd like to convert to DVDs and CDs, respectively. I have a couple of questions about how to hook the devices up to the computer. I've seen some RCA-to-USB cables on the Internet like this one. Will those work for connecting the VCR to the computer? And what program would I use to take that and save it as a video file? Can I connect the phonograph directly to the Line In port in my PC or do I need some amplifier or something in the middle? I'm using Windows 7 x64, if it matters.

• Mouse works fine but keyboard (not wireless) not responding to anything

  I read previous questions like mine and looked to see if keys were depressed and checked to make sure the mouse key was off in the system preferences. The mouse works just fine but the keyboard seems to be dead. I plugged in another keyboard and it responded identically. Is it something in the Desktop itself? Could I need a technician? • Jumbo Frames, ISCSI and ESXi

  I have enabled Jumbo Frames (9000) in ESXi for all my vmNICs, vmKernels, vSwitches, iSCSI Bindings etc - basically anywhere in ESXi where it has an MTU settings I have put 9000 in it. The ports on the switches (Dell PowerConnects) are all set for Jumbo Frames. I have a Dell MD3200i with 2 controllers, each with 4 ports for iSCSI. Each of these ports is set to Jumbo Frames (9000) as well. So now the questions: Do I need to log into each Windows Server VM I am running and delve into the NIC properties and manually set it to Jumbo Frames in the NIC properties in the device Manager as well? Whats the best way of testing that Jumbo Frames are indeed working as intended?

• What postgresql client version should I build against, if server is 8.x?

  I'm planning updates to a system that is currently running with 8.x server on Windows, 8.x client on Windows, and 8.x client on Linux. Obviously that seems like a bad choice of platform in a mixed environment, but the Linux machine has no persistent writable storage (as an anti-rootkit measure). I'm concerned with compatibility between versions right now. Can a linux postgresql 9.0.x client connect to a Windows 8.x server? The server is using some third-party binary extensions, so upgrading it is a more involved task and will be done later. If combining a 9.0.x client and 8.x server is discouraged, would latest 8.x clients be able to continue to connect if I did upgrade the server first? META: What tag is appropriate for backward-compatibility questions?

• How to completely remove MySQL from Windows?

  (I realize there are similarly-titled questions, but this one is really 'how do I reset the password', and this one doesn't specify an OS and has only gotten Linux-oriented answers.) On Windows XP, I just uninstalled MySQL and deleted the folder that it was installed in. I then rebooted and reinstalled MySQL. When it comes back up, it still has the databases it had before the uninstall. Where did it keep that database info? How do I completely remove MySQL and start over, as if I'd never installed it?

• Good free software to track and graph memory and CPU usage on Windows?

  There are many questions on Linux memory tracking, but I haven't seen any for Windows. In my case however its a Windows XP Pro box I need to track the memory and CPU usage of. The reason I need it is due to a server program I'm trying that is eating all my processor and some of my memory which is freezing my RDP session and System Explorer and even makes it difficult to login physically. As this is a very constrained server I'm working off of (768 MB RAM with Pentium 4 which disappears with this program), I need a program that doesn't run/require a webserver. I can give it a MySQL database if necessary however. Is there any suggestions for such a program?

• H.264 Pricing confusion

  not sure if this is the right place but there seems to be other H.264 questions here, if not please point me to the right place! I am taking uploaded content and encoding it to H.264, I'm confused about the pricing though. Do I have to pay to host and stream this video on my server (in Ireland). I've tried looking around google but there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer. Some countries have exceptions, some pay $2500. What kind of information should I be looking at to understand the pricing model more? Thanks.

  I hadn’t time yesterday to write a blog post before of the beginning of the day and I recover now that I’m already back to Europe. I spent many hours at the Microsoft booth meeting people who asked questions about Tabular, Power View and PowerPivot. I have to say that I’m really glad so many people started using PowerPivot and of the large interest around Tabular. During my BISM: Multidimensional vs. Tabular I’ve been helped by Alberto during the demo (we joked about he was the demo monkey) and the feedback received are good. I tried to compare the strength and weakness of the two modeling options without spending time describing the area in which they are similar. During the days before I had many discussions about scenarios based on snapshots and I added a few slides to the presentation in order to cover this area that I thought was marginal but seems to be a very common one. To know more, watch the presentation when it will be available or wait for some article I’ll write in the future describing these patterns. In less than 10 days, I’ll be at TechEd Europe and I’m really looking forward to meet other Tabular developers and PowerPivot users there!

• How to handle fine grained field-based ACL permissions in a RESTful service?

  I've been trying to design a RESTful API and have had most of my questions answered, but there is one aspect of permissions that I'm struggling with. Different roles may have different permissions and different representations of a resource. For example, an Admin or the user himself may see more fields in his own User representation vs another less-privileged user. This is achieved simply by changing the representation on the backend, ie: deciding whether or not to include those fields. Additionally, some actions may be taken on a resource by some users and not by others. This is achieved by deciding whether or not to include those action items as links, eg: edit and delete links. A user who does not have edit permissions will not have an edit link. That covers nearly all of my permission use cases, but there is one that I've not quite figured out. There are some scenarios whereby for a given representation of an object, all fields are visible for two or more roles, but only a subset of those roles my edit certain fields. An example: { "person": { "id": 1, "name": "Bob", "age": 25, "occupation": "software developer", "phone": "555-555-5555", "description": "Could use some sunlight.." } } Given 3 users: an Admin, a regular User, and Bob himself (also a regular User), I need to be able to convey to the front end that: Admins may edit all fields, Bob himself may edit all fields, but a regular User, while they can view all fields, can only edit the description field. I certainly don't want the client to have to make the determination (or even, for that matter, to have any notion of the roles involved) but I do need a way for the backend to convey to the client which fields are editable. I can't simply use a combination of representation (the fields returned for viewing) and links (whether or not an edit link is availble) in this scenario since it's more finely grained. Has anyone solved this elegantly without adding the logic directly to the client?

  I want to setup a central log-server. The log-server is running with debian 6.0.6 and the audit daemon is installed in version 1.7.13-1. The Clients are running with Red Hat 5.5 and they connect to the log-server via audispd. The connection works fine and i get all messages from each node. My questions is: is it possible that the auditd daemon from the log server write the messages from each node in a separate file? I try to transfer the messages via the syslog daemon, that works but i can not use tools like ausearch to analyze these log-files.

If your query is related to the displayed order then proceed go to next step otherwise select your order by clicking on Choose Different Order button Step 4 – Select the missing/damaged items from the list of items displayed from your order Step 5 – Choose the issue with your order. In case if an item is missing you may want to choose “Problem with an order”, “Missing item or parts” and “Entire item missing from shipment”. You may want to choose the options that are close to the issue you are facing with your order Step 6 – Choose how you want to support. You can choose either “E-Mail”, “Phone” or “Chat”.
