• How do I refer to a constant URL in my route configuration?

  Suppose I have the following within a webpage <% using (Html.BeginForm("ShowData", "Summary")) %> <% { %> <div class="dropdown"><%=Html.DropDownList("CourseSelection", Model.CourseList, new { @class = "dropdown", onchange="this.form.submit();" })%> </div> <% } %> When the user makes a selection from the dropdown the form is submitted and I would like it to link to another page with a URL as follows: http://localhost:1721/Summary I have the following routes: routes.MapRoute(null, "Summary", new { controller = "Summary", action = "ShowData", CourseSelection = (string) null }); routes.MapRoute("Default", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Login", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }); When a user selects an item in the dropdownlist, the URL returned is: http://localhost:1721/Summary/ShowData?CourseSelection = UserSelection Clearly the first route in the list is not being matched. I don't want the URL to show the action name and parameter. I simply want to show "Summary" which is what I have hard coded in the URL. How do I achieve this?

• JSF 2.0: Validate equality of 2 InputSecret Fields (confirm password) without writing Code?

  I'm developing a pure JavaEE6 application with JSF 2.0 and Glassfish. My JSF implementation is Primefaces (beside Mojarra provided by Glassfish). I want to verify if the values of 2 password fields in a JSF form are equal. With Seam, there is the neat component <s:validateEquality for="pw1"/>. I want do to the same without Seam, just using JSF (or maybe a component of a JSF library). Until now i only saw examples which validate the form with a custom validator. But i would like to compare the fields without writing Java code or Javascript code. Is that possible? • ASP.NET MVC Concurrency with RowVersion in Edit Action

  I'm wanting to do a simple edit form for our Issue Tracking app. For simplicity, the HttpGet Edit action looks something like this: // Issues/Edit/12 public ActionResult Edit(int id) { var thisIssue = edmx.Issues.First(i => i.IssueID == id); return View(thisIssue); } and then the HttpPost action looks something like this: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Edit(int id, FormCollection form) { // this is the dumb part where I grab the object before I update it. // concurrency is sidestepped here. var thisIssue = edmx.Issues.Single(c => c.IssueID == id); TryUpdateModel(thisIssue); if (ModelState.IsValid) { edmx.SaveChanges(); TempData["message"] = string.Format("Issue #{0} successfully modified.", id); return RedirectToAction("Index"); } return View(thisIssue); } Which works wonderfully. However, the concurrency check doesn't work because in the Post, I'm re-retreiving the current entity right before I attempt to update it. However, with EF, I don't know how to use the fanciness of SaveChanges() but attach my thisIssue to the context. I tried to call edmx.Issues.Attach(thisIssue) but I get The object cannot be attached because it is already in the object context. An object can only be reattached when it is in an unchanged state. How do I handle concurrency in MVC with EF and/or how do I properly Attach my edited object to the context? Thanks in advance

  My problem is this: I want to create a grails domain instance, defining the 'Many' instances of another domain that it has. Is it not possible to pass the Skills at construction time? There must be a way round this? I need a single form to allow a person to register but I want to normalise the data so that I can add more skills at a later time. • How to do custom display and auto-select in django admin multi-select field?

  I'm new to django, so please feel free to tell me if I'm doing this incorrectly. I am trying to create a django ordering system. My order model: class Order(models.Model): ordered_by = models.ForeignKey(User, limit_choices_to = {'groups__name': "Managers", 'is_active': 1}) in my admin ANY user can enter an order, but ordered_by must be someone in the group "managers" (this is the behavior I want). Now, if the logged in user happens to be a manager I want it to automatically fill in the field with that logged in user. I have accomplished this by: class OrderAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): def formfield_for_foreignkey(self, db_field, request, **kwargs): if db_field.name == "ordered_by": if request.user in User.objects.filter(groups__name='Managers', is_active=1): kwargs["initial"] = request.user.id kwargs["empty_label"] = "-------------" return db_field.formfield(**kwargs) return super(OrderAdmin, self).formfield_for_foreignkey(db_field, request, **kwargs) This also works, but the admin puts the username as the display for the select box by default. It would be nice to have the user's real name listed. I'm new to this, but my guess is that when I use UserModelChoiceField it "erases" the info passed in via formfield_for_foreignkey. Do I need to use the super() function somehow to pass on this info? or something completely different?

• using ResultSet.Previous method not working in Java using .mdb file OBDC

  Hello, I'm currently having an issue with my open result set not working how I believe it should. The only function that is currently working is the next() method, nothing else will work. If the project is placed into a debug mode you can follow through actionperformed event on the button it hits the previous() method and jumps over the remaining code in the method. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be truly appreciated. • Find unique vertices from a 'triangle-soup'

  I am building a CAD-file converter on top of two libraries (Opencascade and DWF Toolkit). However, my question is plattform agnostic: Given: I have generated a mesh as a list of triangular faces form a model constructed through my application. Each Triangle is defined through three vertexes, which consist of three floats (x, y & z coordinate). Since the triangles form a mesh, most of the vertices are shared by more then one triangle. Goal: I need to find the list of unique vertices, and to generate an array of faces consisting of tuples of three indices in this list. What i want to do is this: //step 1: build a list of unique vertices for each triangle for each vertex in triangle if not vertex in listOfVertices Add vertex to listOfVertices //step 2: build a list of faces for each triangle for each vertex in triangle Get Vertex Index From listOfvertices AddToMap(vertex Index, triangle) While I do have an implementation which does this, step1 (the generation of the list of unique vertices) is really slow in the order of O(n!), since each vertex is compared to all vertices already in the list. I thought "Hey, lets build a hashmap of my vertices' components using std::map, that ought to speed things up!", only to find that generating a unique key from three floating point values is not a trivial task. Here, the experts of stackoverflow come into play: I need some kind of hash-function which works on 3 floats, or any other function generating a unique value from a 3d-vertex position.

  Hello All, Has anyone experience this weird issue on safari? Textbox autofill is not at its correct position, please see screenshot below. I have been searching for answers in google for almost a day, still no luck. This is the built-in autofill feature of safari.   I have an absolutely positioned input box in a form. The input box has transparent background: .form-page input[type="text"] { border: none; background-color: transparent; /* Other stuff: font-weight, font-size */ } Surprisingly, I cannot select this input box by clicking on it in IE8. It works perfectly in Firefox however. The same happens for background: none. When I change the background color: background-color: red; It works fine, so this is issue associated with transparent background. Setting a border makes the input box selectable by clicking on its border only. Is there a workaround to have clickable input box with transparent background working in IE8? Update: Example. Uncomment background-color and the inputbox is selectable.   I have two files which show all contats in a database, then edits them. The second script keeps directing the browser back due to this part.   I have searched for a solution to this for the last several hours but to no avail. When I click on a button that has a return false in OnClientClick, no postback occurs to the server. When I use jquery to trigger the click function of the button, OnClientClick fires first, but regardless of the return value, a postback occurs.   I have a multiline text box on a form. I dropped in the js file for openWYSIWYG and attached it to the textbox. When I submit the form, the text box has no value. In that form I have two fields (each in it's own cell): one to select who paid (single selection), and another to select people expense is paid for (multiple selection). Both fields open a new TableViewController included in an UINavigationController. • Pattern for sharing data between views (MVP or MVVM)

  What is a good pattern for sharing data between related views?. I have an application where 1 form contains many small views, each views behaves independently from each other more or less (they communicate/interact via an event bus). Every so often I need to pass the same objects to the child views. Sometimes I need this same object to be passed to a child view and then the child passes it onto another child itself contains. What is a good approach to sharing this data between all the views contained within the parent form (view) ? I have looked into CAB and their approach and every "view" has a "root work item" this work item has dictionary that contains a shared "state" between the views that are contained. Is this the best approach? just a shared dictionary all the views under a root view can access? My current approach right now is to have a function on the view that allows one to set the object for that view. Something like view.SetCustomer(Customer c); then if the view contains a child view it knows to set it on the child view ala: this.childview1.SetCustomer(c); The application is written in C# 3.5, for winforms using MVP with structure map as a IoC/DI provider.

• JSF Render response programmatically

  I have one parent page with a parentManagedBean (attached to Session Scope). On click of a button on this parent page, one popup comes which has a childManagedBean (attached to Request scope). Now ChildManagedBean holds a reference to parentManaged bean through JSF's managed property facility. On this popup window, user selects some option which populates a large value object. I use the managed property of childManagedBean to set the values from this large object to that of parentManagedBean. Problem is - The parent page shows a link, on click of which a popup comes, on selection of the popup, the popup disappears and set the values to the parentManaged bean. So far so good, but the newly set values need to appear on the parent page. This is where I am stuck. How to programmatically render the master page/render page when I am at the child managed bean? Is there a way I can get handle of the parent page and refresh it? Note: I'm using JSF 1.1 EDIT- After following the solution of "resubmit-ing the form" from javascript, I am seeing that the old form is getting resubmitting which overwrites all of my changed values.

  Every month, 4 or 5 text files are created. The data in the files is pulled into MS Access and used in a mailmerge. Each file contains a header. This is an example: HEADER|0000000130|0000527350|0000171250|0000058000|0000756600|0000814753|0000819455|100106 The 2nd field is the number of records contained in the file (excluding the header line). The last field is the date in the form yymmdd. Using gawk (for Windows), I've done ok with rearranging/modifying the data and writing it all out to a new file for importing into Access except for the following. I'm trying to create a unique ID number for each record. The ID number has the form 1mmddyyXXXX, where XXXX is a number, padded with leading zeros. Using the header above, the first record in the output file would get the ID number 10106100001 and the last record would get the ID 10106100130. I've tried putting the second field in the header into a variable, rearranging the last header field into the required date format and then looping with "for" statements to append the XXXX part of the ID and then outputting it all with printf but so far I've been complete rubbish at it.   Hi there, I have a simple application to store address details and edit them. I have been away from VB for a few years now and need to refreash my knowledge while working to a tight deadline. I have a general Sub responsible for displaying a form where user can add contact details (by pressing button add) and edit them (by pressing button edit). This sub is stored in a class Contact. The way it is supposed to work is that there is a list with all the contacts and when new contact is added a new entry is displayed. If user wants to edit given entry he or she selects it and presses edit button Public Sub Display() Dim C As New Contact C.Cont = InputBox("Enter a title for this contact.") C.Fname = frmAddCont.txtFName.Text C.Surname = frmAddCont.txtSName.Text C.Address = frmAddCont.txtAddress.Text frmStart.lstContact.Items.Add(C.Cont.ToString) End Sub I call it from the form responsible for adding new contacts by Dim C As New Contact C.Display() and it works just fine. However when I try to do something similar using the edit button I get errors - "Unable to cast object of type 'System.String' to type 'AddressBook.Contact'." • C# Switch-case Loop for Datagridview cells

  Hi, I am working on a form with datagridview and webbrowser controls. I have three columns as URL, username and password in datagridview. What I want to do is to automate the login for some websites that I use frequently. For that reason I am not sure if this is the right approach but I created the below code. The problem is with the argument of switch. I will click the row on datagridview and then click the login_button so that the username and password info will be passed to the related fields on the webpage. Why I need a switch-case loop is because all the webpages have different element IDs for username and password fields. • Why doesn't my cursor change to an Hourglass in my FindDialog in Delphi?

  I am simply opening my FindDialog with: FindDialog.Execute; In my FindDialog.OnFind event, I want to change the cursor to an hourglass for searches through large files, which may take a few seconds. So in the OnFind event I do this: Screen.Cursor := crHourglass; (code that searches for the text and displays it) ... Screen.Cursor := crDefault; What happens is while searching for the text, the cursor properly changes to the hourglass (or rotating circle in Vista) and then back to the pointer when the search is completed. However, this only happens on the main form. It does not happen on the FindDialog itself. The default cursor remains on the FindDialog during the search. While the search is happening if I move the cursor over the FindDialog it changes to the default, and if I move it off and over the main form it becomes the hourglass. This does not seem like what is supposed to happen. Am I doing something wrong or does something special need to be done to get the cursor to be the hourglass on all forms? For reference, I'm using Delphi 2009.
