• Best way to unit-test WCF REST/SOAP service while dynamically generating stubs

  I have a webservice written with WCF 4.0 that exposes REST and SOAP functions, and I want to set up my unit tests so that as I work on my web services I can quickly test by having the test framework start up the service, outside of IIS, and then do the tests. I want it to be dynamically generated as I am not certain what the interface will look like, and it is easier to not worry about having to generate the stubs before I start the tests. But, I couldn't get Groovy to work with my web service, so I am curious if Iron Python or Iron Ruby would work well for this, or is there another .NET language that may work well for this.

  I followed every step given in this guide: http://help.github.com/linux-key-setup/ When I get to the end I am able to ssh to [email protected], getting the response: PTY allocation request failed on channel 0 Hi AlexBaranosky! You've successfully authenticated, but GitHub does not provide shell access. Connection to github.com closed But when I go to clone my repo it fails saying: Permission denied (publickey). fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly I've used Github a lot, but this is my first use of it from an Ubuntu computer, is there something I am missing here? • JQuery live event binding prevents additional callbacks

  Hey! I was building an AJAX listing of elements in my site, with the ability to delete them (also via AJAX). The problem is that, for elements that were not there when the page was loaded (i.e. that were added dynamically), the post callback does not get executed and it doesn't fade out after being deleted (the AJAX call is being made, it just doesn't execute the callback). • How to sign installation files of a Visual Studio .msi

  This may be a duplicate, though I can't find it at this time. If so please point me in the right direction. I recently purchased an authenticode certificate from globalsign and am having problems signing my files for deployment. There are a couple of .exe files that are generated by a project and then put into a .msi. When I sign the .exe files with the signtool the certificate is valid and they run fine. The problem is that when I build the .msi (using the visual studio setup project) the .exe files loose their signatures. So I can sign the .msi after it is built, but the installed .exe files continue the whole "unknown publisher" business. How can I retain the signature on these files for installation on the client machine? You help is appreciated. -Alex

Can be used outside of servlets (unlike JSP) Is flexible wrt. to where the templates are stored (JSP and a lot of people require the templates to be stored in the FS). It should provide a template loading interface which one can implement or something like that Easy inclusion of parameterized templates- I really like JSP's tag fragments Good docs, nice code, etc., the usual suspects I've looked at JSP- it's nearly perfect except for the servlet and filesystem coupling, Stringtemplate- I love the template syntax, but it fails on the filesystem coupling, the documentation is lacking and template groups and stuff are confusing, GXP, TAL, etc. Ideas, thoughts?   SLOVED see commend I develop am webservice based on apache tomcat 6.0.26, apache cxf 2.2.7, spring 3.0, hibernate 3.3 and sybase sqlanywhere 11. im using the latest JDBC Driver from SYBASE jconn.jar Version 6. The persistence layer is based on spring + hibernate dao, the connection is configured via a JNDI datasoure (META-INF directory). It seems that, during longer times of inactivity, the connection from the webservice to the database is closed. Exception: java.sql.SQLException: JZ0C0: Connection is already closed. • How to create multiple SOAP webservice clients in same netbeans 6.8 project

  I have a project that is largely just to help one application make connections to an SAP server, for real-time updates. So the first web service client works fine, but I try to create a second and it seems to hang and I expect part of the problem is that it is trying to create a new Service class, but the namespace for all the webservices are identical, but the wsdl is obviously different, so it can't create the client. I can do it manually, by just having Service1, Service2, etc, or making some other change, but the issue is that Netbeans should be able to do this easily. I can't use Eclipse as the wsimport parameters that Netbeans uses works, in Eclipse I would need to do too much to make it work, so I will go with the easier tool. I don't want to create a new project for each webservice, as that just seems to be perpetuating a design error. So, how can I easily create multiple webservice clients that will all have the same target namespace, using Netbeans 6.8+?

• Detecting (on the server side) when a Flex client disconnects from BlazeDS destination

  Hi all, I'd like to know whether it's possible to easily detect (on the server side) when Flex clients disconnect from a BlazeDS destination please? My scenario is simply that I'd like to try and use this to figure out how long each of my clients are connected for each session. I need to be able to differentiate between clients as well (ie so not just counting the number of currently connected clients which I see in ds-console). Whilst I could program in a "I'm now logging out" process in my clients, I don't know whether this will fire if the client simply navigates away to another web page rather than going though said logout process. Can anyone suggest if there's an easy way to do this type of monitoring on the server side please. Many thanks, Alex

• WPF data validation is overriding theme on the interface

• Using Windows Integrated Auth & Anonymous during redirect on IIS7

  I have an application we bought that I need to integrate, and it uses jakarta connection to get to the application from IIS. So, the basic operation is: user goes to the url Gets redirected to the application SSO is enabled, so redirected back to IIS for fetching of domain credentials Back to application If username is blank show login page, else let user in. This is a simplification of all the steps, but the basic idea is here. My difficulty is that I need both Windows Integrated Auth and anonymous on, as some users won't have credentials, and need to be prompted for a username/password. I have looked at: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2068546/iis-windows-authentication-before-anonymous already, but the user doesn't get to click on a link to decide. The application goes back to IIS looking for login.aspx and from there I want to either get their domain credentials or pass back to the application empty strings to signify that there are no credentials. It seems this isn't going to be possible though as if anonymous is on it doesn't make the 401 request so the credentials aren't passed. If I can't get this to work with just using an ASP page, could it be done using an ISAPI filter, or a module?

• Java / Tomcat memory leak in RedHat Linux?

  Hi, I've got a Red Hat box with 6G memory running Tomcat and I'm trying to figure out how much memory I have left on the box. Problem is, top & jconsole is showing one figure (around 200M), and system monitor is showing a different figure (around 2G). Does anybody know what the difference is? I'm not sure if there is a memory leak happenning here, but the highest memory consumer is a tomcat process that's taking 2.2G of memory. Screenshots below:

• How to sort a list so that managers are always ahead of their subordinates

  I am working on a project using Groovy, and I would like to take an array of employees, so that no manager follows their subordinates in the array. The reason being that I need to add people to a database and I would prefer not to do it in two passes. So, I basically have: <employees> <employee> <employeeid>12</employeeid> <manager>3</manager> </employee> <employee> <employeeid>1</employeeid> <manager></manager> </employee> <employee> <employeeid>3</employeeid> <manager>1</manager> </employee> </employees> So, it should be sorted as such: employeeid = 1 employeeid = 3 employeeid = 12 The first person should have a null for managers. I am thinking about a binary tree representation, but I expect it will be very unbalanced, and I am not certain the best way to do this using Groovy properly. Is there a way to do this that isn't going to involve using nested loops?

  There is an SAP server that has some webservices I need to use, so I am trying to use wsimport to generate the client stubs. I don't want to find all the wsdls and schemas that are referenced and modify them to do it locally, as that isn't sustainable, if they service should change. So, how can I use wsimport to fetch a wsdl and generate the client stubs when the server is using Windows Integrated Authentication, where even the wsdl requires credentials.

• Confused over behavior of List.mapi in F#

  I am building some equations in F#, and when working on my polynomial class I found some odd behavior using List.mapi Basically, each polynomial has an array, so 3*x^2 + 5*x + 6 would be [|6, 5, 3|] in the array, so, when adding polynomials, if one array is longer than the other, then I just need to append the extra elements to the result, and that is where I ran into a problem. Later I want to generalize it to not always use a float, but that will be after I get more working. So, the problem is that I expected List.mapi to return a List not individual elements, but, in order to put the lists together I had to put [] around my use of mapi, and I am curious why that is the case.   Hello Good people! I'm building an WPF application that connect to web services for its operations.Things that i needed to be working are so far fine.Now i'll like to improve use experience by adding features like username editable combobox, sign me in when skype start and start when computer start. I have a fair idea about each feature but very small knowledge about their implementation. Question 1 username combobox : i use a combobox with isEditable set to true but i think it doesnt have the previous username, would that mean that i have to store every successful login username in a sqlite for example? Question 2 sign me in when skype start : i think about using sqlite after all to store the credentials and store the value (as in true or false) if autologin has to be performed. Question 3 start when computer start : i know it's about having is as service.but the process of using it as a service and removing its service when checkbox is checked or unckecked is a bit confusing to me. Question 4 Please wait(signing in) of skype if i want to do things like please wait at login(login is over webservice) in a WPF application should i use a animated gif in a grid that i can show when hiding the login combobox and passwordbox grid or i should use an animated object(for which i have no knowledge about for now) ? This post in mainly for you experts to either point me to the right resource and tell me what is done as best practice. things like dos and dons.Thanks for reading this and please let me have a clair idea about how to start implementing those features. thanks again

• Running Awk command on a cluster

  How do you execute a Unix shell command (awk script, a pipe etc) on a cluster in parallel (step 1) and collect the results back to a central node (step 2) Hadoop seems to be a huge overkill with its 600k LOC and its performance is terrible (takes minutes just to initialize the job) i don't need shared memory, or - something like MPI/openMP as i dont need to synchronize or share anything, don't need a distributed VM or anything as complex Google's SawZall seems to work only with Google proprietary MapReduce API some distributed shell packages i found failed to compile, but there must be a simple way to run a data-centric batch job on a cluster, something as close as possible to native OS, may be using unix RPC calls i liked rsync simplicity but it seem to update remote notes sequentially, and you cant use it for executing scripts as afar as i know switching to Plan 9 or some other network oriented OS looks like another overkill i'm looking for a simple, distributed way to run awk scripts or similar - as close as possible to data with a minimal initialization overhead, in a nothing-shared, nothing-synchronized fashion Thanks Alex

  Hi all, I wanted to have users within my website to have their own URL like http://mysite.com/username (similar to GitHub, e.g. my account is http:// github. com/sr3d). This would help with SEO since every profile is under the same domain, as apposed to the sub-domain approach. My site is running on Rails and Nginx/Passenger. Currently I have a solution using a bunch of rewrite in the nginx.conf file, and hard-coded controller names (with namespace support as well). I can share include the nginx.conf here if you guys want to take a look. I wanted to know if there's a better way of making the URL pretty like that. • How to use IObservable/IObserver with ConcurrentQueue or ConcurrentStack

  I realized that when I am trying to process items in a concurrent queue using multiple threads while multiple threads can be putting items into it, the ideal solution would be to use the Reactive Extensions with the Concurrent data structures. My original question is at: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2997797/while-using-concurrentqueue-trying-to-dequeue-while-looping-through-in-parallel/ So I am curious if there is any way to have a LINQ (or PLINQ) query that will continuously be dequeueing as items are put into it. I am trying to get this to work in a way where I can have n number of producers pushing into the queue and a limited number of threads to process, so I don't overload the database. If I could use Rx framework then I expect that I could just start it, and if 100 items are placed in within 100ms, then the 20 threads that are part of the PLINQ query would just process through the queue.   Hey!, I have a image switcher fadein/out (it will crossfade iamges - auto(1 - x) ) and a pager but i cant manage to make the image rotation listen the click action on pager, when clicked on pager the image will NOT jup tu the specific img. • Modifying generator.yml views in Symfony

  Hey! I'm currently working on a web app written in Symfony. I'm supposed to add an "export to CSV" feature in the backend/administration part of the app for some modules. In the list view, there should be an "Export" button which should provide the user with a csv file of the elements that are displayed (considering filtering criteria). I've created a method in the actions class of the module that takes a comma separated list of ids and generates the CSV, but I'm not really sure how to add the link to it in the view. The problem is that the view doesn't exist anywhere, it's generated on the fly from the data in the generator.yml configuration file.
