• Migrating from Maven to SBT

  Hi people, As you know, SBT is compatible with Maven in some way -- SBT recognizes simple Maven POMs and can use dependencies and repositories specified in them. However, SBT wiki says that, if inline dependency is specified in SBT project definition, POM will be ignored (so using both in this case is impossible): Maven and Ivy configurations (pom.xml and ivy.xml) are ignored when inline dependency declarations are present. Does anyone know, if any kind of converter from Maven POM to SBT project definition exists (translating POM's XML into project definition Scala code)? I'm considering writing such script (that will help to migrate my old Scala/Maven projects to SBT), but want to know first, if this functionality already exists. Thanks in advance.

• Richfaces a4j achtionparam set null value

  I am trying to reset some values in a form using the a4j:actionParam tag. But it seams that null values never arrive in the target bean. The converter receives it correctly, returns null, but it is never set in the bean. The target is to fill in the start and endDate for different predefined values (last week, last month etc). • HttpServletResponse XML to Java

  I am maintaining this servlet that has a HttpServletResponse response that replies back to the client an XML message. I want to take the XML message and convert it to JSON, then send the JSON back. I want to avoid writing my own JSON converter if possible. Does anyone have a good method of doing this? I googled for this: http://pvoss.wordpress.com/2009/02/26/servlet-filter-to-convert-xml-to-json/ , which is exactly what I want but they are using a hacked dom4j jar which doesn't help me.

• Excel validation range limits

  When Excel saves a file, it attempts to combine identical Validation settings into a single rule with multiple ranges. This creates one of three issues, depending on the file type you choose to save: When saving as a standard Excel file (Office 2000 BIFF), a maximum of 1024 non-contiguous ranges that can have the same validation setting. When saving as a SpreadsheetML (Office 2002/2003 XML) file, you are limited to the number of non-contiguous ranges that can be represented, comma-delimited in R1C1 format, in 1024 characters. When saving as an Open Office XML (Office 2007 *.xlsx), there is a maximum of 511 non-contiguous ranges that can have the same validation setting. (I don't have Office 2007, I'm using the file converter for Office 2003). Once you bust any of these limits, the remaining ranges with the same Validation settings have their Validation settings wiped. For (1) and (3), Excel warns you that it can't save all of the formatting, but for (2) it does not.

• Sass mixin not compiling?

  I have previously made a mixin in sass 2.2.22 for my font sizes(it's a font converter), like so: =6.5pts :font :size 9px It has been working ever since i first made it a year ago. We just upgraded to haml/sass 3 and now whenever I try to refresh the page im working on, a sass compile error appears like so: http://grab.by/4yFE I don't get it since Sass 3 documentation says that the = declaration for mixins is NOT deprecated. I tried uninstalling haml 3.0, restarted my server and deleted the generated css file and now it apparently works. Problem is, I need haml 3 for another related project where we just started using Compass. Why is the compiler complaining when the documentation claims the declaration is not deprecated?

• How do I customise date/time bindings using JAXWS and APT?

  Im using JAXWS 2.1.7, using some classes to run through JAXWS's 'apt' to generate the WSDL. For dates, I use @XmlSchemaType(name="time") private Date wakeupTime; and this generates a schema with xs:time, but when this all comes out in XML, the value is something like <wakeupTime>1901-01-01T01:00:00 +10</wakeupTime> I want JUST the time portion to come! I think I want to use a custom converter to say that xs:time + java.util.Date should be printed and parsed in such-and-sucha manner, but I cant see that I can pass a bindings file to the apt routine. I can't (for historical & other reasons) use XMLGregorianCalendar - it has to be a java.util.Date. How do I specify a custom binding for the apt tool in jaxb

  I have a DatePicker for which I want to set the BorderBrush to SolidColorBrush(Colors.Red) if the SelectedDate is null. If a date has been filled in though, I want to just have the default BorderBrush. I still want to be able to style the default BorderBrush in Blend, so I don't want to hardcode the default borderbrush of the DatePicker. • Is there a cleaner way to Bind property to owner's DataContext?

  I have some code that looks like this: <Expander Header="{Binding SelectedSlot.Name}" Visibility="{Binding ShowGroupSlot, Converter={StaticResource BooleanToVisibility}}"> <Controls:GroupPrototypeSlotControl Slot="{Binding DataContext.SelectedSlot, RelativeSource={RelativeSource Mode=FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type Expander}}}" /> </Expander> This works, but the ugliness of the Slot Binding bothers me. This is required because the GroupPrototypeSlotControl has a GroupPrototypeViewModel as its DataContext. If I simply use {Binding SelectedSlot}, it attempts to resolve it on the 'child' ViewModel, which fails. I get around this by explicitly looking at the DataContext of my parent control. Is there a cleaner way to do this type of binding?

• How to convert a .NET WebService-Method-Result (Soap) into its original datatype?

  Hello everyone. I have two "identical" webservices (Soap) on two different servers. Don't ask why :-) WebService-1 decides if it handels the request itself or if it passes the request to WebService-2. If so, the response of WebService-2 should directly be returned from WebService-1. The response datatype is complex and self defined. With simple datatypes like 'int or 'string' there would be no problem. The response of WebService-2 is a serialized object (I think it is called "stubs") and theredore it is not possibel to pass this object through as the response of WebService-1 because the type of the objects doesn't match. Is there a simple way to convert the serialised datatype into its original type without buiding a complex converter?

  Lets say i have an activity with InArgument<int> ProductId I'd like to expose in the activity designer a combobox to show all Products and the user can select a product. I can show the list of product in the combo no problem. But how do I bind the selected product to the InArgument<int> of my custom activity? I suppose I need some kind of ValueConverter? Not sure how to code the value converter for this case, if anybody has an idea, suggestion, will be helpful. • Favicon to PNG in PHP

  I need a PHP script to convert favicons to PNGs while keeping their original dimensions. I know Google has it's secret icon converter - http://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=http://facebook.com/ but this converts favicons to 16x16 even if they they were originally larger. So basically I need this, minus the shrinking effect. I've also seen this - http://www.controlstyle.com/articles/programming/text/php-favicon/ but I couldn't get it to work after hours of messing around with it. Basically I am trying to automatically grab the icon for a link that will be as large as possible - automatically 48x48 png based on a URL would be the perfect scenario, but I don't know of any humanly possible way to do this given that no websites happen to keep a 48x48 icon in a publicly accessible spot. Does anybody know of a script/service or have a suggestion? Thanks!

Is there a free and open source solution (even for commercial usage)? There are many solutions, with huge variety of price ranges, but I was looking for something open source and free. I have tried PISA for Python and it works fairly well, but is not free for commercial usage. Is there anything for .Net? I have not had success with iTextSharp.

• Strange problem when converting RGB to HSV

  Hi, I made a small RGB to HSV converter algorithm with C. It seems to work pretty well, but there is one strange problem: If I first convert i.e. a 800x600 picture into HSV map and then back to RGB map without doing any changes in the values, I get some pixels that are convertet incorrectly. Then if I try to convert those misbehaving single pixels alone to and back, they're converted correctly. Any idea what could be the problem? I'm using Daniel Karlings PNGLite to open that PNG file. • Getting true video Height/Width from ASF videos

  I am trying to convert an ASF video with FFMPEG using an interface called mediahandler. The issue is, the metadata on the ASF video appears to be corrupt. It states that the video is 640x240, and 4:3 aspect ratio. The aspect ratio is correct, but obviously the resolution is not. This causes the converter to incorrectly scale the video, because it uses the resolution to determine the original aspect ratio. I am able to get the aspect ratio metadata, but I'm not sure this solves the issue, because I would think that if the resolution could be incorrect, then so could the aspect ratio metadata. So, is there any way to get the actual height/width? It appears that players like VLC have no issue with this. How do I do such a thing w/ FFMPEG?

• Unable to bind with any property of UserControl

  I looked your answer where I was also using this.DataContext=this. I am unable to convince myself why I have to remove it? But I did In my UserControl control I have 6 int properties (RedCount, GreenCount …) I am using .NET 3.5 and basically I wanted to use StringFormat with Binding. In my xaml file I have 6 Labels with I would like to bind, and I did what exactly you told in last reply. For some strange reasons it didn’t work. I don't know why it does not work.   I have an application which has different font sizes for different controls say Button: 10, TextBlock : 12 etc. I want to give options to the user where he can select any one of the below say Normal , Small, Big, Bigger. Suppose one selects "small" I would want to decrease every distinct font size by 2. If "Big", I would want to increase every font size by 2. I hope we can do this using converter sending actual font size as parameter and render as per the selected choice if I am not wrong. What will be the best option.   Hi, I have a Rest-Service exposed through spring-mvc. I have a particular method which is correctly mapped and called through a http-call. My spring application contains the hibernatetransactionmanager and transactions are configured through @Transactional-annotations. I annotated the method with @Transactional. @Transactional(readOnly = true) @Override @RequestMapping(value = "/start", method = RequestMethod.GET) @ResponseBody public List start(....) Whenever I call the http-method I get org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException from my org.springframework.http.converter.json.MappingJacksonHttpMessageConverter which is bound in my application context. Is the @Transactional annotation valid for the MessageConverter as well?
