What could be the cause? I need to write the "hey" to the Parent page using the first scenario. Both the application are of different domain. Edit: "Hey" would be from the CrossPage.aspx.   • Given an even number of vertices, how to find an optimum set of pairs based on proximity?

    The problem: We have a set of n vertices in 3D euclidean space, and there is an even number of these vertices. We want to pair them up based on their proximity. In other words, we'd like to be able to find a set of vertex pairs, where the vertices in each pair are as close as possible together. We want to minimise sacrificing the proximity between the vertices of any other pairs as much as possible in doing this. I am not looking for the most optimal solution (if it even strictly exists/can be done), just a reasonable one that can be computed relatively quickly. A relatively awful brute force approach involves choosing a vertex and looping through the rest to find its nearest neighbor and then repeating until there are none left. Of course as we near the end of the list the closest vertex could be very far away, but it is the only choice, therefore this can fail badly on the third point above.

I am currently trying to do this: $("#hrefCompare").attr("href", "foobar.com"); However, this only sets the very first anchor tag with that ID. there's 7 more on this page with the same id of 'hrefCompare'. How can I set all of the href values with that ID?

    I know the process id of an application in Mac OS X. How can I switch to it (using applescript, or python, or whatever)? By "switch", I mean, put in focus. The usual solution is to use the applescript code tell application "Foo" activate, but here the name is not useful because I have many instances of the same application running. I am however able to get the process id of the application. How can I switch to this application programmatically?

Look at the definition of NameStartChar: NameStartChar ::= ":" | [A-Z] | "_" | [a-z] | [#xC0-#xD6] | [#xD8-#xF6] | [#xF8-#x2FF] | [#x370-#x37D] | [#x37F-#x1FFF] | [#x200C-#x200D] | [#x2070-#x218F] | [#x2C00-#x2FEF] | [#x3001-#xD7FF] | [#xF900-#xFDCF] | [#xFDF0-#xFFFD] | [#x10000-#xEFFFF] If I interpret this correctly, the last range (#x10000-#xEFFFF) goes beyond the UTF16 range of Java's char type. So it must be UTF32, right? So, I need to check pairs of char against this range, instead of single chars, right? My questions are: How do I check for such character ranges using standard Java methods? How is it possible to define such ranges in JavaCC? JavaCC complains about \u10000 and \uEFFFF Thank you! NOTE: Don't worry, I am not trying to write an own XML-parser. I need those character ranges for other reasons.

    I display elements in a hierarchy, clicking one displays the next set of elements in the hirearchy. Each element has a tag called "level" which has some value which is 1-.... (whatever the number of levels is for that branch of the tree). When an element is clicked I want the next elements to be displayed, but if an element is clicked and it's subelements have already been displayed I want to hide all subelements. More formally: when an element with level = x is clicked if no elements with level x are displayed then display all elements such that level = x+1 but if some elements with level x are displayed then hide all elements where level x How would I create a jQuery selector that captures this.

My \mycommand command takes two parameters, the first being a path to a file, and I want to pass the file's extension to the \inputminted command: \newcommand\mycommand[2]{ \inputminted{#1}{...} } Note that the above won't work since the full path is passed to \inputminted.     Hi I'm working on some code where I have a Time object with a member time. Time.time gives me the time since my application started in seconds (float value). Now I want to create a pulsating value between 0 and 1 and then from 1 to 0 again, which continues doing thins untill the application stops.   • cd Terminal at a given directory after running a Python script?

    I'm working on a simple Python script that can use subprocess and/or os to execute some commands, which is working fine. However, when the script exits I'd like to cd the actual Terminal (in this case OS X) so on exit, the new files are ready to use in the directory where the have been created. All the following (subprocess.Popen, os.system, os.chdir) can do what I want from within the script (i.e. they execute stuff in the target directory) but on exit leave the Terminal at the script's own directory, not the target directory. I'd like to avoid writing a shell script to temporary file just to achieve this, if this is at all possible anyway?

    Let's say I have the word "CAT". These words differ from "CAT" by one letter (not the full list) CUT CAP PAT FAT COT etc. Is there an elegant way to generate this? Obviously, one way to do it is through brute force. pseduo code: while (0 to length of word) while (A to Z) replace one letter at a time, and check if the resulting word is a valid word If I had a 10 letter word, the loop would run 26 * 10 = 260 times. Is there a better, elegant way to do this?

    As a workaround for a problem, I think I have to handle KeyDown events to get the printable character the user actually typed. KeyDown supplies me with a KeyEventArgs object with the properities KeyCode, KeyData, KeyValue, Modifiers, Alt, Shift, Control. My first attempt was just to consider the KeyCode to be the ascii code, but KeyCode on my keyboard is 46, a period ("."), so I end up printing a period when the user types the delete key. So, I know my logic is inadequate. (For those who are curious, the problem is that I have my own combobox in a DataGridView's control collection and somehow SOME characters I type don't produce the KeyPress and TextChanged ComboBox events. These letters include Q, $, %.... This code will reproduce the problem. Generate a Form App and replace the ctor with this code.     In this SO question, someone asked for calculating an angle from three points. I need to do the opposite thing. I want to draw a clock, and I have tiny tick images. An art dude made 60 of them, each with an individual and accurate shadow. So there are 60 distinct images at 10x10 points in size, already correctly rotated in the center of that square. So every 6 degrees one tick image has to be placed. I would just need to calculate the x/y coordinate based on a center point, an radius and an angle. So I have: an center point an radius an angle Is there an easy way to calculate the x/y coordinate with this? Maybe cocoa-touch already has a useful function or method for this?

  • BCB: how to get the (approximate) width of a character in a given TFont?

    It's a TMemo, not that that should make any difference. Googling suggests that I can use Canvas->TextWidth() but those are Delphi examples and BCB doesn't seem to offer this property. I really want something analogous to memo->Font->Height for width. I realize that not all fonts are fixed width, so a good estimate will do. All that I need is to take the width of a TMemo in pixels and make a reasonable guess at how many characters of the current font it will hold. Of course, if I really want to be lazy, I can just google for the average height/width ratio, since height is known. Remember, an approximation is good enough for me if it is tricky to get exact. http://www.plainlanguagenetwork.org/type/utbo211.htm says, " A width to height ratio of 3:5 (0.6) is recommended for most applications"
