Is there any light weight tools which can filter and output http headers/responses in human readable form? Something like wireshark. I have tried tcpdump; but it is hard to read.

Hi
I'm using X-Accel-Redirect (so implicitly nginx), Content-Type and Content-Disposition to download a file, everything works great.
What I need to accomplish is redirecting to a new location after the download starts.
I've tested with both Refresh and Location, it doesn't work. Is it possible with HTTP 1.1/nginx?
Hi
I am looking for a windows application which will receive SMS via a GSM modem. The application needs to forward the 'raw' PDU via HTTP Post to a page on our server. The app needs to deal receive a confirmation reciept from our server and deal with undelivered PDU strings.
I would be happy for someone to quote for building this straightforward application.
Thanks CKxion
Often, I find myself wanting to write a unit test for a portion of code that accesses HTTP resources as part of its normal function. Have you found any good ways to write these kinds of tests?
Hi!
Can you advice me an HTTP/HTTPS proxy server component for Delphi 2009 or 2010 (i.e. it must support Unicode). I know about Indy, but maybe there are alternatives?
Hi,
When executing a ajax call i received a http error code 12019. This call works most of the time, but in rare occasions i get this errorcall. I found that this error code is described as "The requested operation cannot be carried out because the handle supplied is not in the correct state." (@msdn). Can anybody tell me what this means?
Thanx,
Bas Hendriks
What is the correct way to log out of HTTP authentication protected folder?
There are workarounds that can achieve this, but they are potentially dangerous because they can be buggy or don't work in certain situations / browsers. That is why I am looking for correct and clean solution.
Okay, so what are the ramifications of getting a JS file via an HTTPS call while on a HTTP page.
I assume it would just be a little bit of extra overhead. Would there be any warnings about this call from any certain browser?
Don't ask why. It's just hypothetical.

Hi folks,
I've built a web application with Django, I'm using Memcached in order to cache data.
A few views cache the whole HttpResponse objects, therefore there might be a better alternative for returning the Memcached data other than going through Django.
What could be faster alternatives for returning Memcached data on HTTP Requests ?
I'm trying to make the operation as fast and lightweight as possible.
Help would be much appreciated! :)
What hidden features of HTTP do you think are worth mentioning?
By hidden features I mean features that already are part of the standard but widely rather unknown or unused.
Just one feature per answer please.
I need to setup some automated testing of HTTP requests, to check cookies are doing the right thing, with (manual) debugging when there is a problem.
So far I've been muddling along with Firebug, but it's quite a bit of effort using that, and I would prefer some form of scriptable tool, both to make it easier for me and to allow an automated regression test.
Any recommendations?
Is there a way to queue file uploads without resorting to Flash or Silverlight, just with cleverly used forms and JavaScript? Note that the upload should be executed asynchronously.
By "queuing" uploads I mean that if the user tries to upload multiple files, they should not be transferred simultaneously, but rather one at a time, in a single HTTP connection.
I am looking for a SMTP to HTTP Post service. I have tried smtp2web.com but although I can register and set up forwarding, emails bounce. Any ideas suggestions for an alternative service or current experience of using this one?

I'd like to develop an application to monitor HTTP traffic to/from my PC. (what websites are being visited by the PC user).
The problem is, that I couldn't get any articles how to start developing application like that.
What am I missing?
What is the best erlang library for processing http requests and responses from within an erlang application? I have taken a look at inets but as a standalone application, it seems more like a replacement for curl.
I would like to access external APIs from within the erlang application so would need to parse responses and be able to make subsequent requests with cookies generated from the response.
I downloaded apple's demo for using HTTP POST and GET (Their sample app has a tabbar with different parts) and the code is so confusing!
Could anybody give me some sample code or a link to some tutorials about it? :)
Thanks!
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to know if any of you had any problems using java default HttpURLConnection class. Some kind of bug that made you switch to apache commons.
Or is it just the (ugly) interface that class exposes that justifies the birth of 3rd party http lib?
Disclosure: I heard some arguments against java.net having some serious problems, but I'm finding hard to believe that a class that is part of the java core distribution still has issues after several releases of the JDK
What's the easiest way to create a simple HTTP server with Java? Are there any libraries in commons to facilitate this? I only need to respond to GET/POST, and I can't use an application server.
What's the easiest way to accomplish this?
