  • How to modify Toolbar Icon to show Text in FCKEditor

    Does anyone know how I can add text into the toolbar? I would like to add some text to one of the buttons just like how the button for "Source" has the small icon, but also has the word "Source" beside it to describe what that button does. Basically none of my test users knows that the little mountain icon is used insert an image. Because of this, I would like to either replace that icon with the words "upload image" or I'd like to keep that little mountain icon, and have the words "upload image" beside it, to help people understand that's the icon for images.

  • jQuery: datepicker - Calendar activated by the icon and the date field at the same time

    Hello, I've already looked around but couldn't find the exact solution/problem I'm having right now. All I want is to have the calendar appear either by clicking on the calendar icon AND from the text field in which the date appears when selecting a date. Right now, after trying different properties, I can only have the calendar appear by one or the other, but not both: the icon and the field. This is the code I'm using to activate it via the icon: $("#datepicker").datepicker({ showOn: 'button', buttonImage: 'images/icon-calendar.gif', buttonImageOnly: true, changeMonth: true, changeYear: true, showAnim: 'slideDown', duration: 'fast' }); Is there a way to have the calendar appear by clicking on the icon AND the field as well?   • problem with 512x512 app icon in iTunes Connect

    I'm uploading my app to App Store and I created it in iTunes Connect. I just uploaded my 512x512px icon and then I opened Version Summary page to verify my information... I've got a set of icon that just have gloss effect. In Version Summary page I see my 512x512px icon with automatic gloss added. Is there a way to prevent this? My large app icon mustn't have gloss... In my info.plist I added the line "Icon already includes gloss effects" and I checked the box near it... Can anyone help me?

  • How do I get the Apple Wireless Keyboard Working in 10.10?

    So I've gone and bought a Magic Mouse and Apple Wireless Non-Numeric Keyboard. The magic mouse worked out-of-the-box almost perfectly, except for the forward/back gesture which still isn't functioning, whereas the keyboard didn't. It has constant trouble with the bluetooth connection. Only the 7, 8 and 9 buttons and volume media keys correspond correctly with the output. Pressing every single key on keyboard has this output: 789/=456*123-0.+ When I use Blueman the keyboard can be setup and shows up in "Devices" but I get a warning when I click "Setup"; "Device added successfully, but failed to connect" (although removing the keyboard and setting it up as a new device doesn't incur this error). Using gnome-bluetooth I have encountered no error messages but it connects properly less often than Blueman and I can still only type the aforementioned output. What am I not doing? Where is this going wrong? EDIT: I have read this http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=224673 inside out several times to no avail. It seems these commands don't work for me with the apple peripherals sudo hidd --search hcitool scan Fortunately I have the luxury of a 1TB hard drive, near limitless patience and no job. I have installed a fresh Ubuntu 10.10 64bit (albeit smaller than mine) and after updating and restarting for the first time, I set up my devices in exactly the same way as I have learnt on my original install I succeeded once again with the mouse and, to my joy, with the keyboard also. Though I could not seem to find Alt+F2 and had to reconfigure that and several other keyboard shortcuts, the keyboard is working and in a spectacular fashion. Still, this leaves me with the issue of my original install. I returned to it with some new found knowledge but failed again. Perhaps I have a missing dependancy? I did uninstall bluetooth after the initial set up and reinstalled it recently for the pupose of these peripherals. Maybe it's because I'm running 64bit? This is still not solved, but easily avoided by not changing too much from the original install. Just hide stuff or turn it off, don't uninstall too much.

    How do I cache the images properly, I think asked this somewhere before, but it hasn't affected me until gameing site went out of beta. It's HTTP headers or something isn't Ok I used George's answer but frankly the performance is awful, asking the server for the image everytime (even when it doesn't download the image) creates a small delay of about 1/2 a second but because of the huge number of SE sites, the 1/2s add up. Please, please consider adding a hash of the image to the stackauth.com/sites

  • Facebook Game Rejected: "Your app icon must not overlap with content in your cover image"

    Sorry if this isnt the right stackexchange site to ask this, it was really hard to determine. My FB game just recently got rejected for 2 reasons. The first I fixed nicely and is irrelevant but the second I just can't see to figure out what they mean and I was hoping someone else got the same issue and did know what they meant. These are the errors: You can ignore the error under "Banners" The web preview of my game looks like this now: All I know is that the rejection has something to do with the cover image, not the icons or the screenshots.   • Windows 7 x64 RTM USB Port Has Power But Won't Recognize Mouse/Keyboard/Anything

    I have an odd error that doesn't seem to fit in with any of the other odd Windows 7 x64 USB errors that have been kicked up on Google. Here we go: Uninstalled Tortoise SVN and clicked restart computer. My machine had been up for around 28 days On reboot my mouse and keyboard failed to work anymore, couldn't log in. Tried every USB port I have on my Dell 390 and the ports on my Dell 19's, nothing worked. They had power but Windows would not respond when I manipulated the keyboard/mouse. Rebooted my computer and pressed F2 to get into bios, my keyboard is working fine in bios. Keyboard and mouse work fine on other computers when using USB. Found adapters for keyboard and mouse to convert from USB to PS/2 ports, works fine. I'm actually typing this question on the same keyboard, same computer, just using PS/2 ports for my mouse and keyboard. It appears to be a Windows 7 x64 issue. Other things I have tried: Multiple other mice and keyboards, iphone, all with no luck. Each one gets power, but Windows never tries to install drivers or sees that they are connected. Uninstall and reinstall all USB drivers. Drives uninstall and reinstall fine and report no errors in Control Panel. In Power Management I disallow Windows from turning off USB ports to save power Installed the latest nVidia drivers for my graphics card, no change. Anyplace else I can look/try? Thanks!

  • Enable re-attached mouse/keyboard via ssh?!

    I had Ubuntu 9.10 x64 Desktop installed on a nettop I have (that I normally run headless), and yesterday I decided to take the plunge and update to 10.04. So, I plugged in a screen and usb mouse/keyboard, booted up and set to work. It was 1am, and it was telling me it had 3hrs left to install all the new packages, so I unplugged the screen and usb mouse/keyboard, left the box running, and went to bed. This evening, I plugged it all back in again to check progress. It's asking if I want to remove obsolete packages. I do, but neither the mouse nor keyboard work! I can access the box via SSH like I normally do; is there any way I can re-enable the keyboard from there? I'm reluctant to restart the box (via ssh) mid-way through such a complicated upgrade.   • Ubuntu 12.04 - Tiny title bar and icon fonts

    As you can see in the screenshot, the fonts for the title bar (any window) and for the icons within the file browser (as well as in the navigation pane to the left) are very very small, I have tried to fix this by a number of ways including using MyUnity, but to no avail. Could someone please help me with this as it can render my PC unnavigatable unless I'm sitting right up against it, and even then I struggle. I am using Ubuntu 12.04. Screenshot

  • WIn API Basic Paint program

    Just trying to learn a bit of Win API. Im trying to make a basic drawing app, a bit like MS Paint. For the time being im trying to get one function to work which is, when you left click and drag the mouse around the screen a line is drawn behind the mouse.   • Bluetooth pairing works in 10.10 but not in 11.04

    My laptop, a Compaq Presario V2000, has a built-in Bluetooth module that has worked well since at least Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. I use it to pair with headphones and a mouse. These both worked great in Ubuntu 10.10 (and still do with a live CD) but I cannot pair to any Bluetooth device in Ubuntu 11.04, even from a live CD. I can see the Bluetooth module in lspci and when I try to set up a new device from the Bluetooth indicator my computer detects all Bluetooth devices around me but pairing always fails. At the moment I'm most concerned with getting my Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 paired.   • Icon zoom on gnome panel with mouseover?

    I'm actually quite surprised that I couldn't find any information regarding this question through simple google-ing; I would think that it was something of a no-brainer kind of question. I'm basically trying to figure out if there's any way to have the icons in the side panel/favorites bar magnify as you mouseover them, much like you'd see in any the popular launcher programs (i.e. rocket dock or apple's launcher)? I'm on a netbook with a rather limited amount of screen real estate to work with, so the icons depicting my "favorite applications" have been reduced to a permanent, unsatisfying handful of pixels. Again, it seems to me that this should be a fairly obvious feature to include in the options for the panel, so I'm hoping that there's an easy solution.   • Scroll shell output with mouse in tmux

    Mouse scrolling doesn't work in tmux the way it works when I run shell without tmux (in Gnome Terminal). It seems tmux sends mouse scroll events as if I pressed Up/Down keys. But I want it to scroll though the shell output history. Is there a way to make tmux work like this? Note: I know how to scroll with keyboard (thanks to another question here). Tried mouse scrolling in two versions of tmux: 0.8-5hardy1 (on Ubuntu Hardy) 1.3-1 (on Ubuntu Maverick)

  • My ubuntu with unity not loading after last reboot

    I have asus u36sd and after last reboot I can't start up my ubuntu 11.10. Usually I suspend my notebook by closing cover but today I reboot it and it not starting up. Booting flowing by normal till to login screen but if I move mouse cursor after that image immediately switch to console (without any error; only normal loading startup processes) and back to login screen. I can type my password and boot continuing loading but after few moment it again switch back to dark console and switch again to login screen. I can load recovery mode but if I try touch my cursor (by mouse or internal notebook touchpad) it again switch back to console and to login screen. But if I use only keyboard it work fine. Where I can see detailed log information about my problem?

  • Double-click instead of single-click in Ubuntu 12.04

    When I do a single click, my computer (with Ubuntu 12.04) acts like it was double click. I think it happens in ~50% of cases. It happens with all the program I use: browsers, file manager, terminal and so on. I'm not sure when exactly it started, maybe a week ago, and I don't remember if it started to happen after system-update or after the installation of some packages. What I tried: change mouse change mouse settings like Double-Click Timeout None of those helped me. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • UIM notification area icon in Unity, Oneiric?

    When I was using Maverick, it was possible to switch the input method from a UIM indicator applet. Now that I have upgraded to Oneiric, I can't seem to switch the input method even when I open uim-im-switcher-gtk. This is necessary for me because I need to be able to switch back and forth between English and Tibetan and the keyboard shortcuts don't seem to work until after I've changed the input method from the panel first. Is there some way to get a UIM indicator on the Unity panel? This is a major regression for me and makes it impossible to do certain kinds of work in Ubuntu.

  • restarted my computer and my wireless icon was missing and my sound no longer works

    I recently updated to 12.04 on my sony vaio VGN-N110G. I've had ubuntu on this laptop since 10.04 and haven't had any real problems. so i restarted my computer today and none of the unity desktop background showed up only the desktop with the files on it so i brought up the terminal and entered in unity -replace and restarted it and it came back up fine except that i noticed that my panel only had mail, volume, date/time, and power icons no wireless or bluetooth, i tried a couple of approaches to try and get it working again i tried nm-applet --sm-disable and it brought up a warning message, i'm not very skilled in code even though i've had ubuntu for four years but in the past versions it wasn't too big a problem

  • Right-click acts too fast - No Fix Yet, Any Workaround?

    When I click the right mouse button (anywhere, be it - desktop, browser, console, etc.), the right-click context menu pops up so quickly that the very *first* option in the menu gets clicked. This happens too often to take it easy. This issue has been brought up a couple of times on Ask Ubuntu, but with no fix whatsoever. This is a very low priority issue for the Ubuntu team, I believe? (How could they?!) Is there at least a workaround for the issue? Ubuntu is almost unusable for me as it is now. PS: I have a new mouse. So, please don't go about suggesting that I get a new one - - everything's working fine on Windows 7, so should be the case with ubuntu 11.10, which it is not.

  • XP VM not detecting USB keyboard or mouse from Windows 7 host

    I've been using a Windows XP Pro VM (32-bit, SP3) for months on my work PC (Windows 7 64-bit) with no problems, with a PS/2 keyboard and a standard optical USB mouse. Today I copied this VM onto my home PC, which is also Windows 7 64-bit but with a G15 USB keyboard and MX518 USB mouse. For some reason the VM does not accept input from the keyboard or mouse, which makes it almost impossible to use. (Unity works but is not an option). Both my home and work PC are running VMware player 3.1.0. My keyboard and mouse show up as USB devices in the bottom-right of the VMware Player window, and if I click them I have the standard option to "Connect (Disconnect from host)". I have selected this option for the keyboard, and then the VM happily accepts keyboard input, but of course my host PC no longer does. It seems like VMware is seeing my keyboard and mouse as USB devices and not input devices. I've tried sending the keyboard input to the guest and reinstalling VMware Tools, but that achieved nothing. I'm certain it's a problem with the VM, and not the XP install, as I also can't use F12 to enter the VMware BIOS when the VM is powering up.
