Table with values ID , Key, Value 1 , STATUS, TRUE 1, AGE GROUP, 10 1, TRAVEL, Y 2 , STATUS, FALSE 2, AGE GROUP, 20 2, TRAVEL, N I want these date to transform as below (Output) ID , STATUS, AGE GROUP, TRAVEL 1, TRUE , 10, Y 2, FALSE, 20, N I have read about crosstab/pivot - but not able to make a query which can give me the above output. The table structure cant be changed...! My bad. Is there any way in sql, to make my output look like above ?

    The following code creates a table without raising any errors: CREATE TABLE test( ID INTEGER NULL, CONSTRAINT PK_test PRIMARY KEY(ID) ) Note that I cannot insert a NULL, as expected: INSERT INTO test VALUES(1),(NULL) ERROR: null value in column "id" violates not-null constraint DETAIL: Failing row contains (null). ********** Error ********** ERROR: null value in column "id" violates not-null constraint SQL state: 23502 Detail: Failing row contains (null). Why can I create a table with a self-contradictory definition? ID column is explicitly declared as NULLable, and it is implicitly not nullable, as a part of the PRIMARY KEY. Does it make sense? Edit: would it not be better if this self-contradictory CREATE TABLE just failed right there?

  • Using Rails, how can I set my primary key to not be an integer-typed column?

    I'm using Rails migrations to manage a database schema, and I'm creating a simple table where I'd like to use a non-integer value as the primary key (in particular, a string). To abstract away from my problem, let's say there's a table employees where employees are identified by an alphanumeric string, e.g. "134SNW". I've tried creating the table in a migration like this: create_table :employees, {:primary_key => :emp_id} do |t| t.string :emp_id t.string :first_name t.string :last_name end What this gives me is what seems like it completely ignored the line t.string :emp_id and went ahead and made it an integer column. Is there some other way to have rails generate the PRIMARY_KEY constraint (I'm using PostgreSQL) for me, without having to write the SQL in an execute call? NOTE: I know it's not best to use string columns as primary keys, so please no answers just saying to add an integer primary key. I may add one anyway, but this question is still valid.

  • Refurbished System Windows License Key and OEM Media

    According to this question, it is legal to use a Windows 7 OEM license that is presently installed as a 32-bit install with a 64-bit version of Windows 7. With that in mind, I purchased several refurbished systems through TigerDirect. When I received the computers today, I found that they have a Windows 7 license key attached to them that says it is a "refurbished key." A flyer in the box also seemed to imply that this key would not work with regular OEM media. Has anyone tried using regular OEM media with a refurbished key? I had hoped to create a new 64-bit WIM image that I could use on these systems, but I don't want to try replacing the default install with this new 64-bit install only to find that the key won't validate. If it requires a special customized image, is it possible to convert another type of Windows 7 disc into the required sort much as one can convert a retail disc to an OEM one (and vise versa)?

    On Linux, the Compose key is a great way to enter many symbols. E.g. m-dash — by pressing Compose then --- ö by pressing Compose then :o Euro € by pressing Compose then C= (The Compose key function can be assigned to various keyboard keys, such as right/left Alt, right/left Windows key.) I really miss the Compose key when using Windows. I've looked but so far haven't found any way to get equivalent Compose key functionality on Windows. Does anyone know of how to do it?

    I bought a Gandi.net SSL certificate and I'm following this tutorial. I created the key file. then transformed it to CSR then added it to Gandi website and waited for the CRT. then removed the password from the key === result : [FINAL KEY] then merged the CRT and the FINAL KEY into one file == result : [FINAL PEM] then heroku ssl:add final_pem final_key --app app_name and... got Pem is invalid / Key doesn't match the Pem certificate. I tried 3 times and I really don't know what's going one. Can you help ?

    This is a question regarding the OpenSSH client on Linux, MacOSX and FreeBSD. Normally, I log into systems using my SSH key. Occasionally, I want my SSH client to ignore my SSH key and use a password instead. If I 'ssh hostname', my client prompts me for the Passphrase to my SSH key which is an annoyance. Instead, I want the client to simply ignore my SSH key, so that the server will ask me for my password instead. I tried the following, but I am still prompted for the passphrase to my SSH key. After this, I am prompted for my password. ssh -o PreferredAuthentications=password host.example.org I want to do this on the client side, without any modification of the remote host.

    Hello, world!, I have a VPS set up with multiple domain names pointing to it. Arbitrarily, I like to access it via SSH through the domain name I'm dealing with. So for example, if I'm doing something with example1.com, I'll log in with ssh [email protected], and if I'm working with example2.com, I'll log in with ssh [email protected]. They both point to the same user on the same machine. However, because SSH keeps track of the server's fingerprint, it tells me that there is an offending host key, and makes me confirm access. $ ssh [email protected] Warning: the ECDSA host key for 'example2.com' differs from the key for the IP address '123.123.123.123' Offending key for IP in /home/me/.ssh/known_hosts:33 Matching host key in /home/me/.ssh/known_hosts:38 Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?   • Remap Apple MacBook Eject key in Windows?

    I have a MacBook with Windows 7 on it as my daily driver. My MacBook has a nearly useless Eject key, but I wish it was a forward delete key. KeyRemap4Macboook works great in OS X. Is there any software that is equivalent in Windows? I have tried KeyTweaks and HotKeys and neither of them will recognize the Eject key. I looked it up and I think it is key 161. Is there any way to make the key into a more useful forward delete? Could I just go into the registry and do it that way?

Everything runs fine on it for days then I suddenly notice the enter/return key is no longer working e.g. I could be writing an email, press enter for a new line but it doesn’t ‘register’ – so no new line. I thought it might be some dirt under the key perhaps so I tried running the Windows onscreen keyboard but the Enter key on that doesn’t work either. A reboot always fixes the problem but it’s a pain. Any ideas a) how to fix it and b) out of interest, is there some other key combination that I can use as an alternative to using the Enter key when I need to?

  • sudo su - username while keeping ssh key forwarding

    If I have a server A into which I can login with my ssh key and I have the ability to "sudo su - otheruser", I lose key forwarding, because the env variables are removed and the socket is only readable by my original user. Is there a way I can bridge the key forwarding through the "sudo su - otheruser", so I can do stuff on a server B with my forwarded key (git clone and rsync in my case)? The only way I can think of is adding my key to authorized_keys of otheruser and "ssh otheruser@localhost", but that's cumbersome to do for every user and server combination I may have.

    I'm following this tuturial to setup key-based access to the SSH I created a user. I add copy the key to the client via ssh-copy-id <username>@<host> Becasuse ssh <username>@<host> still prompts for a password I run ssh-add on the local machine. The terminal doens't prompt for a password, I can login without using a password. But I cannot run su anymore. Every input for the password results in Authentication failure. I tried it again. But before coping the key, I added to the sudoer file. Copied key, ssh-add. But now I cannot login to my SSH shell att all? How can I setup a key-based SSH access with the possibiluty to use su or sudo?

He offered us his five predictions about the ways he believes E2.0 technologies will transform business in 2011. 1. Forward-thinking organizations will achieve an unprecedented level of organizational awareness. Enterprise 2.0 and Web 2.0 technologies have already transformed the ways customers, employees, partners, and suppliers communicate and stay informed. But this year we are anticipating that organizations will go to the next step and integrate social activities with business applications to deliver rich contextual "activity streams." Activity streams are a new way for enterprise users to get relevant information as quickly as it happens, by navigating to that information in context directly from their portal. We don't mean syndicating social activities limited to a single application. Instead, we believe back-office systems will be combined with social media tools to drive how users make informed business decisions in brand new ways. For example, an account manager might log into the company portal and automatically receive notification that colleagues are closing business around a certain product in his market segment. With a single click, he can reach out instantly to these colleagues via social media and learn from their successes to drive new business opportunities in his own area. 2. Online customer engagement will become a high priority for CMOs. This new field has been dubbed "Web experience management" or "online customer engagement" by firms and analyst organizations. As companies interface with customers more and more over the Web, Web experience management solutions will help deliver more targeted interactions to ensure increased customer loyalty while meeting sales and business objectives. 3. Real composite applications will be widely adopted. We expect organizations to move from the concept of a single "uber-portal" that encompasses all the necessary features to a more modular, component-based concept for composite applications. This approach is now possible as IT and power users are empowered to assemble new, purpose-built composite applications quickly from existing components. 4. Records management will drive ECM consolidation. We continue to see a significant shift in the approach to records management. Several years ago initiatives were focused on overlaying records management across a set of electronic repositories and physical storage locations. We believe federated records management will continue, but we also expect to see records management driving conversations around single-platform content management consolidation. 5. Organizations will demand ECM at extreme scale. We have already seen a trend within IT organizations to provide a common, highly scalable infrastructure to consolidate and support content and information needs. But as data sizes grow exponentially, ECM at an extreme scale is likely to spread at unprecedented speeds this year. This makes sense as regulations and transparency requirements rise.
