    Hello, I work since 2 days on WMD & Markdown and i don't find THE solution for stock data with security. I would like users can post html/xml (with WMD) on my site. For the moment, I stock data in Markdown format but If I disabled JavaScript the user can push easy XSS. If I strip_tags or html_entities all data i loose the user html/xml . How can I do ? In my opinion I must html_entities just the code between pre /pre, but how?! my data is in Markdown.   • Drawing a PDF Right-Side-Up in CGContext

    I'm overriding the drawRect: method in a custom UIView, and I'm doing some custom drawing. All was going well, until I needed to draw a PDF resource (a vector glyph, to be precise) into the context. First I retrieve the PDF from a file: NSURL *pdfURL = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:[[[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath] stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"CardKit.bundle/A.pdf"]]; CGPDFDocumentRef pdfDoc = CGPDFDocumentCreateWithURL((CFURLRef)pdfURL); CGPDFPageRef pdfPage = CGPDFDocumentGetPage(pdfDoc, 1); Then I create a box with the same dimensions as the loaded PDF: CGRect box = CGPDFPageGetBoxRect(pdfPage, kCGPDFArtBox); Then I save my graphics state, so that I don't screw anything up: CGContextSaveGState(context); And then I perform a scale+translate of the CTM, theoretically flipping the whole context: CGContextScaleCTM(context, 1.0, -1.0); CGContextTranslateCTM(context, 0.0, rect.size.height); I then scale the PDF so that it fits into the view properly: CGContextScaleCTM(context, rect.size.width/box.size.width, rect.size.height/box.size.height); And finally, I draw the PDF and restore the graphics state: CGContextDrawPDFPage(context, pdfPage); CGContextRestoreGState(context); The issue is that there is nothing visible drawn. All this code should theoretically draw the PDF glyph into the view, right? If I remove the scale+translate used to flip the context, it draws perfectly: it just draws upside-down. Any ideas?

  • Server Side of UpdatePanel don't understand PartialPostback

    This erros seems to happen randomly and in the whole system. Sometimes when we click in a button, or even try to login, a alert comes up with the "Message cannot be parsed" error. Funny thing is that when I turn on fiddler, the thing stars to function ok. Sniffing the connection via smsniff i was able to capture the traffic of the bugged and working postbacks. The contents were suposed to be rendered in a update panel. It appears that the "bugged" response is the whole page again, what would cause such a thing?   • Proof of library bug vs developer side application bug

    I have a problem with a specific java client library. I wont say here the problem or the name of the library because my question is a different one. Here is the situation: I have made a program that uses the library. The program is a class named 'WorkerThread' that extends Thread. To start it I have made a Main class that only contains a main() function that starts the thread and nothing else. The worker uses the library to perform comm with a server and get results. The problem appears when I want to run 2 WorkerThreads simultaneously. What I first did was to do this in the Main class: public class Main { public static void main(String args[]) { new WorkerThread().start(); // 1st thread. new WorkerThread().start(); // 2nd thread. } } When I run this, both threads produce irrational results and what is more , some results that should be received by 1st thread are received by the 2nd instead. If instead of the above, I just run 2 separate processes of one thread each, then everything works fine. Also: 1.There is no static class or method used inside WorkerThread that could cause the problem. My application consists of only the worker thread class and contains no static fields or methods 2.The library is supposed to be usable in a multithreaded environment. In my thread I just create a new instance of a library's class and then call methods on it. Nothing more. My question is this: Without knowing any details of my implementation, is the above situation and facts enough to prove that there is a bug in the library and not in my programm? Is it safe to assume that the library inside uses a static method or object that is indirectly shared by my 2 threads and this causes the problem? If no then in what hypothetical situation could the bug originate in the worker class code?

    How do you set the visibility of a (fileupload) control from ASP.net code (I need to hide a fileupload control in a webuser control from server site, otherwise hasFIle is always false). Also setting the "Visible" property to false does not work (as is confuses the AJAX panel so the fileupload forgets that it has a file). theFileUpload.Visible = false = does not work so I want to try to set the CSS style visibility to hidden or display to none. The main problem is I want to do it from the server side (I know how I could do it on client). Is there a safe way to overwrite theFileUpload.Attributes["styles"] in case I modify other CSS styles in there, also throwing a whole CSS class at it (by moidifying the CSSClass property) seems like overkill. thanks in advance Axel

    A lot of the blogsphere articles related to CQRS (command query repsonsibility) seperation seem to imply that all screens/viewmodels are flat. e.g. Name, Age, Location Of Birth etc.. and thus the suggestion that implementation wise we stick them into fast read source etc.. single table per view mySQL etc.. and pull them out with something like primitive SqlDataReader, kick that nasty nhibernate ORM etc.. However, whilst I agree that domain models dont mapped well to most screens, many of the screens that I work with are more dimensional, and Im sure this is pretty common in LOB apps. So my question is how are people handling screen where by for example it displays a summary of customer details and then a list of their orders with a [more detail] link etc.... I thought about keeping with the straight forward SQL query to the Query Database breaking off the outer join so can build a suitable ViewModel to View but it seems like overkill? Alternatively (this is starting to feel yuck) in CustomerSummaryView table have a text/big (whatever the type is in your DB) column called Orders, and the columns for the Order summary screen grid are seperated by , and rows by |. Even with XML datatype it still feeel dirty. Any thoughts on an optimal practice?

I've had a quick go (not live) with position fixed but in doing so it the leftside navigation is about 200px or so from the top of the window.     Hey, I have a simple question. I implemented custom soap extension and registered it into client application configuration file. It works fine. (I would like to implement progress bar functionality like http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa480520.aspx) But I don't like some thing - custom soap extension is invoked by every call of my web service. In order to fix this situation (call WS just by required methods) I implemented custom SoapExtensionAttribute like below: [AttributeUsage(AttributeTargets.Method)] public class CustomSoapExtensionAttribute : SoapExtensionAttribute { public override int Priority { get; set; } public CustomSoapExtensionAttribute() : this (1) { } public CustomSoapExtensionAttribute(int priority) { Priority = priority; } public override Type ExtensionType { get { return typeof(CustomSoapExtension); } } } I added this attribute to required methods of web service proxy classes (and removed registration into client configuration file). My soap extension doesn't invoke when required web methods are calling. Can someone help me to solve this problem or select any other solution? This is mainly done to improve performance so the server is not hit for every request which may be invalid. Even though this approach may be beneficial performance-wise, it violates DDD principles. What if the business rules are changed? This way we don't have a rich domain where all the business rules are captured. In case of a change, we should change the domain as well as the presentation layer. Has anyone come across this situation before? I'd like to know your thoughts on this. Cheers, Mosh

  • how to verify browser IP for server-side web service

    I have a web service that needs to be able to verify the end-user's IP that called the server-script that is requesting the web service. Simple layout: Person A goes to Webpage B. Webpage B calls Web Service C to get some info on Person A. Web Service C won't give Webpage B the requested information without confirmation that the request originated from Person A's IP and not someone who has stolen Person A's session. I'm thinking that for a browser-based solution, the original site (Webpage B) can open an iframe that goes to the Web Service's authentication page. A key of some kind is passed to the browser which will some how indicate both the user's IP and Web Page B's IP, so that the Web Service can confirm that no one has nabbed anything. I have two challenges, but I'll stick to the more immediate one first: I'm not sure if my browser-based plan really makes sense. If someone steals the session cookie, how is the Web Service going to know? Would this cookie be held be Web Page B and thus be harder to steal? Is it a sound assumption that a cookie or key held by the server only and not the browser is safe? Also, would the web service, based on the iframe initial connection, be expecting the server/user-ip combo? What I mean is, does the session key provided via the iframe get stored by the web service and the Web Site B shows it has a match? Or is the session key more generic, meaning the web service is passed the key by Website B and the Web Service verifies that this is a valid session key based on what a valid session key should look like?
