  • how to start a smartdevice application minimized in c#

    I made a smart device application in c# and I want to run it at startup (I know how to do that) but the problem is that I can't make my application to run minimized (hidden) on the first time. I've tried this.Hide() and this.Visible = false and also used ShowWindow API with SW_HIDE(6) but non of them worked. It seems it's impossible to use these methods on Form_Load() or in InitializeComponent() to start the application minimized or hidden. anyone can help me with this ?

    Would it be possible to integrate Python (and/or Perl) and Ruby with some degree of transparency? I've looked at http://www.goto.info.waseda.ac.jp/~fukusima/ruby/python/doc/ and http://code.google.com/p/ruby-perl/ , but they both seem rather outdated. Perhaps this is not an appropriate approach, but would it be possible to generate a Ruby interface for Python's C API?

    Briefly: I'm after the equivalent of .NET's String.Trim in C using the win32 and standard C api (compiling with MSVC2008 so I have access to all the C++ stuff if needed, but I am just trying to trim a char*). Given that there is strchr, strtok, and all manner of other string functions, surely there should be a trim function, or one that can be repurposed... Thanks

  • Deeplinking with SWFAddress and Facebook connect

    After prompting the user for the login and submitting it's details, my application appears in the facebook lightbox instead of the browser window. This is not the case when I remove the SWFAddress params (all the info after the hash in the URL bar). Is it possible to tell the API to ignore the info after the hash or is there a way i can determine the redirect URL myself? Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    i do all instruction for use prettyPhoto in https://github.com/hiq5/prettyphoto-rails. and i do this to show a single photo( not gallery ) =link_to image_tag(photo.photo_url(:thumb).to_s, :alt => photo.name ,:class => "img-polaroid"), photo.photo_url, :rel => 'prettyPhoto' but still redirect to photo url and show photo, and doesn't use jQuery to show it on the current page. i check it with chrome development tools, there isn't any error. i use haml to generate views (instead erb), and carrierwave to upload photos. by the way I use twitter bootstrap. any help is appreciated.

I can get rdebug to connect: ? rdebug -c Connected. but it never stops at the breakpoints. Any idea what could be going on?     I've noticed that Huffington Post does this: if you log out of there, it forces you to log out of Facebook as well, and if you log in on Facebook and go back to Huffington Post, it automatically logs you in there as well. Is this a straightforward use of the FB Connect API that I just haven't noticed, or is there some trick?

  • Asp.Net MVC - Plugins Directory, Community etc?

    Good evening everyone, I am currently starting to dive into asp.net mvc and I really like what I see so far.. BUT I am somewhat confused about 'drop-in' functionality (similiar to what rails and it's plugins and nowadays gems are), an active community to contact etc. For rails there's github with one massiv index of plugins/gems/code-examples regarding mostly rails (despite their goal being generic source-code hosting..), for blogs, mailing lists etc it's also pretty easy to find the places the other developers flock around, but... for asp.net mvc I am somewhat lost where to go/look. It all seems scattered across codeplex and private sites, google code hosting etc etc.. but is there one (or few places) where to turn to regarding asp.net mvc development, sample code etc?     I have been trying to create a complex form with many nested models, and make it dynamic. Now I found that making a nested model isn't difficult with accepts_nested_attributes_for, but making it nested and dynamic was seemingly impossible if there were multiple nested models. Could anyone shed some light on lines 13 and 16? 13 form_builder.object.class.reflect_on_association(method).klass.new and 16 form_builder.fields_for(method, options[:object], :child_index => "new_#{method}") do |f| From intuition, line 13 instantiates a new object, but why must it do so many method calls? I couldn't find any documentation for the :child_index option on line 16. When the form is created, a very large number is used as an index for new models, whereas existing models are indexed by their id. How does this work?
