• upload process times out for different time zones

  I have an inhouse(NY) app that cients can upload files to. Usually uploads go pretty quickly for most clients but this particularly cient in the UK always have problems with uploads. not sure if they get any errors but since we log all exceptions, we see this...Error: System.Web.HttpUnhandledException: Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown. ---> System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out at System.Web.Services.Protocols.WebClientProtocol.GetWebResponse(WebRequest request) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.HttpWebClientProtocol.GetWebResponse(WebRequest request) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) at ... This shouldn't even be an issue because since we noticed they have had this issue before so we bumped up these to maxRequestLength="2097151" executionTimeout="14400". Further investigating this error, i read that it could be a thread timeout since the default is 20minute. A worker process with process id of serving application pool was shutdown due to inactivity. Application Pool timeout configuration was set to 20 minutes. A new worker process will be started when needed. Problem is I am not entirely sure if that really is the case as all other cients mostly North American, have no issues but then their uploads don't seem to go beyond 80mb and the UK client have done a 700mb upload before that i know of. We have tested 750mb before and the whole process took about 15min for upload and processing. Any help on what the real issue here might be? Thanks.

• Win7 taskbar freezes on startup for about 1-2 mins

  Running Win7 64-bit for about 4 months now. Never had this problem, didn't install anything new recently. When I boot up I can't do anything in the taskbar, it's frozen for about 1-2 minutes then everything is normal. I can right click on my desktop and move my mouse around. This randomly just started happening a couple days ago after a reboot. I have a 3.2ghz quad, SSD, 4 gig ram, etc. and it usually starts up quickly. After some troubleshooting (including running antivirus and Anti-Malware), it doesn't appear to be software related, but appears to be services related. I can boot up in safe mode and safe mode with networking just fine. I can also boot up normally with all my regular software loading at startup, BUT with all my services turned off. Now the odd part. When I run msconfig to disable all the services at startup and go through ticking them on 5-10 at a time or so and booting up it seems to be somewhat random. Ticking everything on from "Application Experience" halfway down to about "Quality Windows Audio Video Experience" and I can boot without the 1-2 min. freeze. Then I start ticking the stuff below that from a couple of Remote Accesses to Smart Card and Task Scheduler, etc. But the weird part is sometimes it will freeze sometimes it won't. I can't narrow it down. Then if it freezes, I'll boot up in safe mode and turn the ones I just turned on back off and I'll reboot normally but it will freeze again. Which makes no sense because that configuration just worked without freezing just before. I got frustrated enough that I backed up and wiped my hard drive (formatted and everything) and reinstalled Win7 but when I booted up, the freeze happened again. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

• WCF configuration for WebHttpBinding(Restful) for supporting both HTTP and HTTPS

  We are using AJAX Cascading dropdown and AutoComplete functionality with Restful WebService Services providing data. With one endpoint(non-secured) eveything was working fine, until we tried same web page with https. Our Webappplication needs to support both. Our of very few articiles/blogs on this issue I found 2 which applies to my requirements. 1. http://blog.abstractlabs.net/2009/02/ajax-wcf-services-and-httphttps.html 2. _http://www.mydotnetworld.com/post/2008/10/18/Use-a-WCF-Service-with-HTTP-and-HTTPS-in-C.aspx I followed same pattern, added 2 endpoints, assuming WCF will pickup appropriate endpoint looking at HTTP or HTTPS protocol. Worked like a charm in my dev machine(XP-IIS5) and 1 Server 2003R2(IIS6), however did work in Production server 2003-IIS6. Website in IIS is exact same(including permission etc). The error it throws - Error 500(Could not find a base address that matches scheme https for the endpoint with binding WebHttpBinding. Registered base address schemes are [http]..) • Delphi SOAP Envelope and WCF

  Hi all, I am working on a system that provides a soap interface. One of the systems that are going to use the interface is coded in Delphi 7. The web service is developed with WCF, basic http binding, SOAP 1.1. If I use SOAP UI (JAVA), the service works properly. Gefunden wurde "Element "NS2:GetCustomerRequest" aus Namespace "http://services.xxx.de/xxx"". Zeile 1, Position 599. Means something like The Body was expected. But instead the Element "NS2:GetCustomerReques" was found. Now my questions is: Can I somehow change the way Delphi creates the envelope? Or are the ways to make WCF work with such message formats? Any help is greatly appreciated!

  Hi, I am struggling hard with getting WCF service running on IIS on our server. After deployment I end up with an error message: Security settings for this service require 'Anonymous' Authentication but it is not enabled for the IIS application that hosts this service.   I want to print a list of numbers, but I want to format each member of the list before it is printed. For example, theList=[1.343465432, 7.423334343, 6.967997797, 4.5522577] I want the following output printed given the above list as an input: [1.34, 7.42, 6.97, 4.55] For any one member of the list, I know I can format it by using, print "%.2f" % member Is there a command/function that can do this for the whole list.   I am trying to build a basic RIA where my Flex application client opens an XML socket, sends the xml message "people_list" to server, and prints out the response. I have ruby at the server side and I have successfully set up the security policy stuff. The ruby xml server, successfully accepts the connections from Flex, successfully detects when they are closed and can also send messages to client. But; there is a problem... It cannot receive messages from flex client. The messages sent from flex client are queued and sent as one package when the socket is closed. Therefore, the whole wait-for-request-then-reply thing is not working... This is also -kinda- mentioned in the XMLSocket.send() document, where it is stated that the messages are sent async so; they may be delivered at any time in future. But; I need them to be synced, flushed or whatever. • How do I use WMI with Delphi without drastically increasing the application's file size?

  I am using Delphi 2010, and when I created a console application that prints "Hello World", it takes 111 kb. If I want to query WMI with Delphi, I add WBEMScripting_TLB, ActiveX, and Variants units to my project. If I perform a simple WMI query, my executable size jumps to 810 kb. I Is there anyway to query WMI without such a large addition to the size of the file? Forgive my ignorance, but why do I not have this issue with C++?
