  • Visual annotator for large images

    I have a few hundred images of 30000 x 10000 pixels in size. Each image has lots of text (rendered as pixels) on it. I'd like to translate all text to another language. I speak both languages, and it's fine for me to translate each phrase manually. I need an image editor which can open these images quickly (faster than Inkscape, which needs about 60 seconds to open such an image), lets me zoom and rotate by 90 degrees, lets me erase (i.e. change the color of a selected rectangle to solid white), lets me add text, and lets me save the file as quickly as possible. I'd like to minimize the time I have to wait for the software to load, render and save images. Which is the best program for that on Windows? On Linux?

  • Asus laptop not retaining Aero theme when unplugged

    The problem i'm having occurs when i unplug my laptop, it disregards several elements of my theme. The taskbar becomes unlocked. My desktop background is turned white. The transparency on my windows goes away. I can fix these things by running the Aero trouble shooting utility, which mentions something about the color bit depth These are these specs for the computer: Asus Laptop / Intel® Pentium® Processor / 15.6" Display / 4GB Memory Model: X54H-BD3MA SKU: 4005394 I'm sure there are duplicates of this, just not sure whick one refers to me. Thank you. Also i think someone should add an "unplugged" tag.

    Hi this is probably something really simple but I cant see what! Any images I have in a masterpage aint showing in child pages, all i get is the box with the red cross in it. Dont think Ive done anything different from usual and its not something thats happened in other sites so im kinda scratchin my head with it. Any ideas appreciated! thanks DD

  • Internet explorer and floats: please explain

    Yesterday someone asked Width absorbing HTML elements. I presented two solutions: one table-based and one pure CSS. Now the pure CSS one works well in Firefox and Chrome but not in IE. Basically the floats are being bumped down to the next line. It is my understanding (and the behaviour of FF and Chrome) that this should not be the case because the left divs are block level elements that floats should basically ignore. Complete code example is below. Adding a DOCTYPE to force IE into standards compliant mode helps slightly but the problem remains. So my question is: am I mistaken about my understanding of floats or is this IE's problem? More importantly, how do I get this to work in IE?     So, for instance facebook's search bar has faint word that says "search", but when you click on the bar, it becomes blank and you may begin typing, when you click away the "search" goes back. Similarly, SO's ask a question title box has faint words that go away when you start typing. I'm not too sure what this effect is called, but I'm wondering if theres a jQuery plugin that helps to achieve this. This isn't particularly difficult to program, but I thought why reinvent the wheel if someone already made a plugin for it.

    We've noticed a compatibility issue with a Silverlight 3 app which runs fine with v3.0.40818, v3.0.50106 and v4.0.50401 but refuses to load in v3.0.40624. Instead it gives a message box saying a more recent version of Silverlight is required. Does anyone know what the changes were between 3.0.40624 and 3.0.40818 or why the app might not be compatible?

If I include the HTML to display an icon with the button text, it shows the HTML as text rather than rendering the code. I'm guessing I could write some jQuery to find the button and overwrite the HTML with what I want, but I'm hoping there's an easier more direct way.

  • css - 2 child containers not sitting alongside each other

    I have a parent container, that has child containers within it. 2 child containers take up 60% width and 40% width respectively. They have no margin, and they have padding, but use box-sizing so this is included in the width. But for some reason they don't sit side by side. If I change one of them to 39% width then it looks fine. What am I doing wrong? Example can be seen at http://jsfiddle.net/Rcaet/

  • VBA Access Import Specification strange error

    I am trying to import a text file into Access using a saved "Import Specification" in my access database using VBA. The import generates the Import Error table showing the errors in the last two fields. BUT if I use the same import specification manually to import the text file, the Import works perfect !!!!!
