  • Help decoupling Crystal Report from CrystalReportViewer

    - by John at CashCommons
I'm using Visual Studio 2005 with VB.NET. I have a number of Crystal Reports, each with their own associated dialog resource containing a CrystalReportViewer. The class definitions look like this: Imports System.Windows.Forms Imports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine Imports CrystalDecisions.Shared Public Class dlgForMyReport Private theReport As New myCrystalReport Public theItems As New List(Of MyItem) Private Sub OK_Button_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles OK_Button.Click Me.DialogResult = System.Windows.Forms.DialogResult.OK Me.Close() End Sub Private Sub Cancel_Button_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Cancel_Button.Click Me.DialogResult = System.Windows.Forms.DialogResult.Cancel Me.Close() End Sub Private Sub dlgForMyReport_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load theReport.SetDataSource(theItems) 'Do a bunch of stuff here to set data items in theReport Me.myCrystalReportViewer.ReportSource = theReport End Sub End Class I basically instantiate the dialog, set theItems to the list I want, and call ShowDialog. I now have a need to combine several of these reports into one report (possibly like this) but the code that loads up the fields in the report is in the dialog. How would I go about decoupling the report initialization from the dialog? Thanks!

  • how to show integer values in JComboBox?

    - by Edan
Hello, I would like to know how to set a JComboBox that contain integers values that I could save. Here is the definitions of values: public class Item { private String itemDesc; private int itemType; public static int ENTREE=0; public static int MAIN_MEAL=1; public static int DESSERT=2; public static int DRINK=3; private float price; int[] itemTypeArray = { ENTREE, MAIN_MEAL, DESSERT, DRINK }; Object[][] data = {{itemDesc, new Integer(itemType), new Float(price)}}; . . . } Now, I want the add a JComboBox that the user will choose 1 of the items (ENTREE, MAIN_MEAL...) and then I could set the number as an Integer. I know that JComboBox need to be something like that: JComboBox combo = new JComboBox(itemTypeArray.values()); JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( null, combo,"Please Enter Item Type", `JOptionPane.QUESTION_MESSAGE);` What am I doing wrong?

  • Database relationships using phpmyAdmin (composite keys)

    - by Cool Hand Luke UK
Hi, I hope this question is not me being dense. I am using phpmyAdmin to create a database. I have the following four tables. Don't worry about that fact place and price are optional they just are. Person (Mandatory) Item (Mandatory) Place (Optional) Price (Optional) Item is the main table. It will always have person linked. * I know you do joins in mysql for the tables. If I want to link the tables together I could use composite keys (using the ids from each table), however is this the most correct way to link the tables? It also means item will have 5 ids including its own. This all cause null values (apparently a big no no, which I can understand) because if place and price are optional and are not used on one entry to the items table I will have a null value there. Please help! Thanks in advance. I hope this makes sense.

  • Rails - handling global site settings

    - by egarcia
I'm developing a new rails application which is supposed to be installed several times in order to implement several sites. There are some things, like the "Site Title" or the "Default Number of Items per Page" that clearly belong to a "global settings" table / config file. I've made a list of the things I think I'll need: ActiveRecord model that is capable of: Storing different kinds of data. I suppose this would be accomplished encoding the values on a string on the db, probably with a "type" field. Indexing settings by name Validations based on a "type" attribute (i.e. don't accept invalid dates on "date" settings) Validations based on a allows_nil property. A controller that allows me to change settings via views. I'm pretty sure I could implement this myself, but I'm not willing to reinvent the wheel. I've done some searching, but I could only find rails-settings, which doesn't really serve me: I need a proper model & controller so I can use declarative-authorization, and it does not provide any controller or view facilities. Is there a gem or plugin out there that implements what I want, or any library I should look at? Thanks a lot.

  • How do I fetch a set of rows from data table

    - by cmrhema
Hi, I have a dataset that has two datatables. In the first datatable I have EmpNo,EmpName and EmpAddress In the second datatable I have Empno,EmpJoindate, EmpSalary. I want a result where I should show EmpName as the label and his/her details in the gridview I populate a datalist with the first table, and have EmpNo as the datakeys. Then I populate the gridview inside the datatable which has EmpNo,EmpJoinDate and EmpAddress. My code is some what as below Datalist1.DataSource = dt; Datalist1.DataBind(); for (int i = 0; i < Datalist1.Items.Count; i++) { int EmpNo = Convert.ToInt32(Datalist1.DataKeys[i]); GridView gv = (GridView)Datalist1.FindControl("gv"); gv.DataSource = dt2; gv.DataBind(); } Now I have a problem, I have to bind the Details of the corresponding Employee to the gridview. Whereas the above code will display all the details of all employees in the gridview. If we use IEnumerable we give a condition where(a=a.eno=EmpNo), and bind that list to the gridview. How do I do this in datatable. kindly do not give me suggestions of altering the stored procedure which results the values in two tables, because that cannot be altered. I have to find a solution within the existing objects I have. Regards Hema

  • PHP - "Fat Free Framework" Find Methods and Showing Results in Template

    - by user1672808
Just started trying the "Fat Free Framework" I'm building a site using a MySQL DB with 265 fields, and 5000+ rows in the DB; I can load() a specific record easily, no problems. When using find(), afind(), and even "select()", template will show blank lines or lines with "filler" text, with the correct number of rows for the query results, but no text/data from the DB itself; Same problem whether using objects or simply arrays from result (afind() and find()). I've copied/pasted the code verbatim from examples and from documentation, with only the DB specific items changed. Still, no luck. CODE IN PHP FILE (function from CLASS): static function home() { $featured=new Axon('boats'); $F3::set('boatlist',$featured->afind('D_CustomerID=173')); F3::set('content',TEMPLATE_DIR .'/home.html'); echo Template::serve(TEMPLATE_DIR .'/layout.html'); } TEMPLATE home.html: <div class="span8"> <h3> Featured Boats </h3> <F3:repeat group="{{@boatlist}}" value="{{@boat}}"> <div style="margin-left: 2em" class="thumbnails"> <p> <a href="boat/{{@boat['D_BoatNum']}}">{{trim(@boat['D_Description'])}}</a> by {{@boat['D_CustomerID']}} </p> <p> {{@boat['D_Price']}} </p> </div> </F3:repeat> </div> The number of rows this produces coincides with the correct number of rows in the DB. However, the actual data from each field does not show. Any ideas?

  • how to indicate a change in list elements' order using jquery?

    - by keisimone
i am using jquery sortable. right now i have a list of items that i can ALREADY use drag and drop. which is cool. i will use a submit button at the bottom of the list to submit the new order. the change in the list is not automatically submitted. All i need is somehow indicate that an element's position has changed. I googled quite a bit. no answer. original list: item1 item2 item3 item4 item5 submitbutton here. changed list: i moved item 2 below item3 for eg. item1 item3 item2 * item4 item5 submitbutton here. how do i use the sortable in jquery for me to display a sign on the item 2? i think should be the change event of sortable but i still do not know how to use it since i am a newbie in jquery. http://docs.jquery.com/UI/Sortable#event-change thank you.

  • iPhone: Using a NSMutableArry in the AppDelegate as a Global Variable

    - by aahrens
What i'm trying to accomplish is to have an NSMutableArray defined in the AppDelegate. I then have two UIViewControllers. One view is responsible for displaying the array from the AppDelegate. The other view is used to add items to the array. So the array starts out to be empty. View1 doesn't display anything because the array is empty. The User goes to View2 and adds an item to the array in AppDelegate. Then when the user goes back to View1 it now displays one item. Here is how I'm trying to accomplish this @interface CalcAppDelegate : NSObject <UIApplicationDelegate> { UIWindow *window; UITabBarController *tabBarController; NSMutableArray *globalClasses; } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *globalClasses; My other view In the viewDidload I set the array in my View to be the one in the AppDelegate. In an effort to retain values. allCourses = [[NSMutableArray alloc]init]; CalcAppDelegate *appDelegate = (CalcAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; allCourses = appDelegate.globalClasses; Then I would update my allCourses array by adding a new item. Then try to set the array in the AppDelegate to be equal to the modified one. CalcAppDelegate *appDel = (CalcAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; NSLog(@"Size before reset %d",[appDel.globalClasses count]); appDel.globalClasses = allCourses; NSLog(@"Size after reset %d",[appDel.globalClasses count]); What I'm seeing that's returned is 2 in the before, and 2 after. So it doesn't appear to be getting updated properly. Any suggestions?

  • First tab doesnt show with Jquery UI Tabs using Cufon

    - by BoulderDave
I'm using Cufon to render the font for my Jquery Tabs. A strange problem I'm finding is that with the first tab, the text isn't rendered. If I remove Cufon, the text is there, or if I remove jquery tabs (so that its just html list items) the text is there (properly rendered by cufon). There seems to be timing issue with the loading I think, where cufon renders the text, but then the jquery tabs css is applied, and perhaps they are 'breaking' each other. Anybody had this issue? $(document).ready(function() { Cufon.replace('.tab'); }); <ul class="tabnav"> <li><a href="bottoms.html" title="Bottoms"><div class="tab">Bottoms</div></a></li> <li><a href="tops.html" title="Tops"><div class="tab">Tops</div></a></li> <li><a href="skirts.html" title="Skirts"><div class="tab">Skirts</div></a></li> <li><a href="dresses.html" title="Dresses"><div class="tab">Dresses</div></a></li> <li><a href="shoes.html" title="Shoes"><div class="tab">Shoes</div></a></li> </ul>

  • Checking inherited attributes in an 'ancestry' based SQL table

    - by Brendon Muir
I'm using the ancestry gem to help organise my app's tree structure in the database. It basically writes a childs ancestor information to a special column called 'ancestry'. The ancestry column for a particular child might look like '1/34/87' where the parent of this child is 87, and then 87's parent is 34 and 34's is 1. It seems possible that we could select rows from this table each with a subquery that checks all the ancestors to see if a certain attribute it set. E.g. in my app you can hide an item and its children just by setting the parent element's visibility column to 0. I want to be able to find all the items where none of their ancestors are hidden. I tried converting the slashes to comma's with the REPLACE command but IN required a set of comma separated integers rather than one string with comma separated string numbers. It's funny, because I can do this query in two steps, e.g. retrieve the row, then take its ancestry column, split out the id's and make another query that checks that the id is IN that set of id's and that visibility isn't ever 0 and whala! But joining these into one query seems to be quite a task. Much searching has shown a few answers but none really do what I want. SELECT * FROM t1 WHERE id = 99; 99's ancestry column reads '1/34/87' SELECT * FROM t1 WHERE visibility = 0 AND id IN (1,34,87); kind of backwards, but if this returns no rows then the item is visible. Has anyone come across this before and come up with a solution. I don't really want to go the stored procedure route. It's for a rails app.

  • Initial text and paperclipped-URL for action in UIActivityViewController & UIActivityItemSource?

    - by Benjamin Kreeger
Finally been making it through Apple's (rather dismal) documentation on the new UIActivityViewController class and the UIActivityItemSource protocol, and I'm trying to send different data sets to different actions called from the activity view. To simplify things, I'm looking at two things. A Facebook posting action, which should say "Check this out!" and also attach a URL to the post (with that cute little paperclip). A Twitter posting action, which should say "Check this out, with #hashtag!" and also attach that same URL (with the same paperclip). Here's the code I've got implemented right now. - (id)activityViewController:(UIActivityViewController *)activityViewController itemForActivityType:(NSString *)activityType { if ([activityType isEqualToString:UIActivityTypePostToFacebook]) { return @"Check this out!"; } else if ([activityType isEqualToString:UIActivityTypePostToTwitter]) { return @"Check this out, with #hashtag!"; } return @""; } - (id)activityViewControllerPlaceholderItem:(UIActivityViewController *)activityViewController { return @""; } And then when I set up this activity view controller (it's in the same class), this is what I do. UIActivityViewController *activityView = [[UIActivityViewController alloc] initWithActivityItems:@[self] applicationActivities:nil]; [self presentViewController:activityView animated:YES completion:nil]; My dilemma is how to attach that NSURL object. It's relatively easy when calling the iOS 6 SL-class posting modals; you just call the individual methods to attach a URL or an image. How would I go about doing this here? I'll note that instead of returning NSString objects from -activityViewController:itemForActivityType, if I return just NSURL objects, they show up with that paperclip, with no body text in the post. If I return an array of those two items, nothing shows up at all.

  • cycle through four list elements, applying an "active" class.

    - by Derek Adair
    Hi, I would like to cycle through four li elements that all contain tags, setting the appropriate class to "active" and remove the "active" class. I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to achieve this via jQuery. HTML: <ul class="liveMenu"> <li id="leftScroll"></li> <li id="liveButton_1"><a class="buttons" href="#featured_1"></a></li> <li id="liveButton_2"><a class="buttons" href="#featured_2"></a></li> <li id="liveButton_3"><a class="buttons" href="#featured_3"></a></li> <li id="liveButton_4"><a class="buttons" href="#featured_4"></a></li> <li id="rightScroll"></li> </ul> jquery: var index = 0; $("#rightScroll").click(function(){ if(index != 3){ index++; } else { index = 0; } //this part is untested, it should work though $("a.active").removeClass("active"); //this is where I am getting hung up //I need something like... $.each("li.buttons", function(i){ if(i == index){ $(this).addClass("active"); } }); }); $("#leftScroll").click(function(){ if(index != 0){ index--; } else { index = 3; } $.each("li.items", function(i){ if(i == index){ $(this).addClass("active"); } }); }); any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

  • Drag/drop problem (draggable in position:relative parent)

    - by MackDaddy
Here's the scenario, I'm using prototype and scriptaculous, but I believe jquery would have the same issue. I have a list draggable images in a relatively positioned div. The problem is I can't drag the images out of the parent div... well... you can, they're just not visible. If you remove the position:relative on the parent div, it works just fine, I can drag items out of the div perfectly. However because of this little IE7 bug: http://snook.ca/archives/html%5Fand%5Fcss/position%5Frelative%5Foverflow%5Fie/ that position:relative is required. IS there another work around to this bug that does not require setting position? I've tried playing with z-index and everything I can think of to no avail. Here's the CSS for the box: #products{ width: 680px; height: 400px; border: 1px solid gray; /*background-color: #66FF00;*/ overflow-y: scroll; overflow-x: hidden; font-family:"Helvetica Neue","Helvetica"; font-size:12px; font-weight:bold; position: relative; } If you would like to see this bug in action, you can visit it here: http://twinmed-dev.com/template%5Fadd.php. Try searching for an item like "gloves" then adding it to the cart below. Thanks for any help.

  • How to choose light version of databse system

    - by adopilot
I am starting one POS (Point of sale) project. Targeting system is going to be written in C# .NET 2 WinForms and as main database server We are going to use MS-SQL Server. As we have a lot of POS devices in chain for one store I will love to have backend local data base system on each POS device. Scenario are following: When main server goes down!! POS application should continue working "off-line" with local database, until connection to main server come up again. Now I am in dilemma which local database is going to be most adoptable for me. Here is some notes for helping me point me in right direction: To be Light "My POS devices art usually old and suffering with performances" To be Free "I have a lot of devices and I do not wont additional cost beside main SQL serer" One day Ill love to try all that port on Mono and Linux OS. Here is what I've researched so far: Simple XML "Light but I am afraid of performance, My main table of items is average of 10K records" SQL-Expres "I am afraid that my POS devices is poor with hardware for SQLExpres, and also hard to install on each device and configure" Less known Advantage Database Server have free distribution of offline ADT system. DBF with extended Library,"Respect for good old DBFs but that era is behind Me with clipper and DBFs" MS Access Sqlite "Mostly like for now, but I am afraid how it is going to pair with MS SQL do they have same Data taypes". I know that in this SO is a lot of subjective data, but at least can someone recommended some others lite database system, or things that I shod most take attention before I choice database.

  • Non recursive way to position a genogram in 2D points for x axis. Descendant are below

    - by Nassign
I currently was tasked to make a genogram for a family consisting of siblings, parents with aunts and uncles with grandparents and greatgrandparents for only blood relatives. My current algorithm is using recursion. but I am wondering how to do it in non recursive way to make it more efficient. it is programmed in c# using graphics to draw on a bitmap. Current algorithm for calculating x position, the y position is by getting the generation number. public void StartCalculatePosition() { // Search the start node (The only node with targetFlg set to true) Person start = null; foreach (Person p in PersonDic.Values) { if (start == null) start = p; if (p.Targetflg) { start = p; break; } } CalcPositionRecurse(start); // Normalize the position (shift all values to positive value) // Get the minimum value (must be negative) // Then offset the position of all marriage and person with that to make it start from zero float minPosition = float.MaxValue; • Get the current array key in a multi dimensional array

    - by johlton
    Hi *, I have a session array *$_SESSION['cart']* with some items in it. The structure ist like this (via *print_r*): Array ( [2-1] => Array ( [color] => 7 [articlenumber] => WRG70 10 [quantity] => 1 [price] => 17.50 ) [3-8] => Array ( [color] => 2 [articlenumber] => QRG50 02 [quantity] => 1 [price] => 13.50 ) ) Looping over the values for display is fine ... foreach($_SESSION['cart'] as $item_array) { foreach($item_array as $item => $value) { echo $value . ' | '; } } ... since it results in something like this: 7 | WRG70 10 | 1 | 17.50 | 2 | QRG50 02 | 1 | 13.50 | But Now: How can I output the matching key (e.g. '2-1') as well? I tried some array functions like key() & current but couldn't get it to work (one of these days). Any quick hint on this? Thanks a lot and best from Berlin Fabian

The problem: each time the button is pressed, the all objects of the array get overridden with the currently selected text. I'd really appreciate help changing the behavior so that the selected text doesn't override all previous array items. <script type="text/javascript"> var selects = new Array(); selects.push("1"); function getSelText() { var i = 0; while (i<1) { var txt = [null]; var x = 0; if (window.getSelection) { txt[x] = window.getSelection(); } else if (document.getSelection) { txt[x] = document.getSelection(); } else if (document.selection) { txt[x] = document.selection.createRange().text; } else return; selects.push(txt); x++; i++; }; document.menu.selectedtext.value = selects; } </script> <form class="menu" name="menu"> <input type="button" value="highlight" class="highlightButton" onmousedown="getSelText()"/> <textarea name="selectedtext" rows="5" cols="20"></textarea> </form> <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.   • jQuery slideDown: Parent element doesn't expand?

    - by bobsoap
Hi, This issue occurs in our beloved Internet Explorer 7: I have a list of items, each with a hidden child div. When user clicks the "expand" button in any list item, the hidden div will expand downwards and push all content beneith it lower. This works just as it should in FF, Chrome, IE8 - but IE7 will not expand the parent element along with its children. This is noticeable because the top-most parent container has an absolutely positioned image at the very bottom (yea... rounded corners) - that doesn't get pushed down when the content expands. I'm guessing that's because of the absolute positioning... Just wondering whether I should attempt to code up some huge workaround in jQuery just for that (assuming I'm able to), or if this is a known issue of some sort. My HTML: <div id="container"> <ul> <li>Click here to expand <div class="hide"></div> </li> <li>Click here to expand <div class="hide"></div> </li> <li>Click here to expand <div class="hide"></div> </li> </ul> <div id="containerbottom"></div> </div> The CSS: #container { position:relative; } #container #containerbottom { position:absolute; bottom:0px; left:0px; } The jQuery is pretty much your everyday slide function: $('ul li').click(function() { $(this).children('.hide').slideDown(200); }); Any ideas?

  • Ninject problem binding to constant value in MVC3 with a RavenDB session

    - by Jim
I've seen a lot of different ways of configuring Ninject with ASP.NET MVC, but the implementation seems to change slightly with each release of the MVC framework. I'm trying to inject a RavenDB session into my repository. Here is what I have that's almost working. public class MvcApplication : NinjectHttpApplication { ... protected override void OnApplicationStarted() { base.OnApplicationStarted(); AreaRegistration.RegisterAllAreas(); RegisterGlobalFilters(GlobalFilters.Filters); RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); } protected override IKernel CreateKernel() { return new StandardKernel(new MyNinjectModule()); } public static IDocumentSession CurrentSession { get { return (IDocumentSession)HttpContext.Current.Items[RavenSessionKey]; } } ... } public class MyNinjectModule : NinjectModule { public override void Load() { Bind<IUserRepository>().To<UserRepository>(); Bind<IDocumentSession>().ToConstant(MvcApplication.CurrentSession); } } When it tries to resolve IDocumentSession, I get the following error. Error activating IDocumentSession using binding from IDocumentSession to constant value Provider returned null. Activation path: 3) Injection of dependency IDocumentSession into parameter documentSession of constructor of type UserRepository Any ideas on how to make the IDocumentSession resolve?

  • Windows Phone app: Binding data in a UserControl which is contained in a ListBox

    - by Alexandros Dafkos
I have an "AddressListBox" ListBox that contains "AddressDetails" UserControl items, as shown in the .xaml file extract below. The Addresses collection is defined as ObservableCollection< Address Addresses and Street, Number, PostCode, City are properties of the Address class. The binding fails, when I use the "{Binding property}" syntax shown below. The binding succeeds, when I use the "dummy" strings in the commented-out code. I have also tried "{Binding Path=property}" syntax without success. Can you suggest what syntax I should use for binding the data in the user controls? <ListBox x:Name="AddressListBox" DataContext="{StaticResource dataSettings}" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=Addresses, Mode=TwoWay}"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <!-- <usercontrols:AddressDetails AddressRoad="dummy" AddressNumber="dummy2" AddressPostCode="dummy3" AddressCity="dummy4"> </usercontrols:AddressDetails> --> <usercontrols:AddressDetails AddressRoad="{Binding Street}" AddressNumber="{Binding Number}" AddressPostCode="{Binding PostCode}" AddressCity="{Binding City}"> </usercontrols:AddressDetails> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox>

  • Testing In-App-Billing with not published App

    - by Janusz
I have an Android App that uses In-App-Billing to sell Account Managed Items. I tested the App with the static respons ids and everything seems to work. I now want to test the App with real product Ids. I created the App in the Google Play Store and uploaded a draft Version of the App with the correct Permissions. I know created an In-App-Billing item and published the item. At the moment the App is unpublished, the item is created and published and I have a test account that is registered in the Profile of the developer account and is the only account on the device that I use for testing. The App is signed with the same key as the uploaded draft. Edit:I'm testing with Android 4.1 && 4.03 at the moment If I try to buy the item the Google Play Store pops up but shows a dialog with the following method: The item you requested is not available for purchase. How can I test buying the item without publishing the App?

  • Multiple threads modifying a collection in Java??

    - by posdef
Hi, The project I am working on requires a whole bunch of queries towards a database. In principle there are two types of queries I am using: read from excel file, check for a couple of parameters and do a query for hits in the database. These hits are then registered as a series of custom classes. Any hit may (and most likely will) occur more than once so this part of the code checks and updates the occurrence in a custom list implementation that extends ArrayList. for each hit found, do a detail query and parse the output, so that the classes created in (I) get detailed info. I figured I would use multiple threads to optimize time-wise. However I can't really come up with a good way to solve the problem that occurs with the collection these items are stored in. To elaborate a little bit; throughout the execution objects are supposed to be modified by both (I) and (II). I deliberately didn't c/p any code, as it would be big chunks of code to make any sense.. I hope it make some sense with the description above. Thanks,

  • Codeigniter Pagination: Run the Query Twice?

    - by Frank
I'm using codeigniter and the pagination class. This is such a basic question, but I need to make sure I'm not missing something. In order to get the config items necessary to paginate results getting them from a MySQL database it's basically necessary to run the query twice is that right? In other words, you have to run the query to determine the total number of records before you can paginate. So I'm doing it like: Do this query to get number of results $this->db->where('something', $something); $query = $this->db->get('the_table_name'); $num_rows = $query->num_rows(); Then I'll have to do it again to get the results with the limit and offset. Something like: $this->db->where('something', $something); $this->db->limit($limit, $offset); $query = $this->db->get('the_table_name'); if($query->num_rows()){ foreach($query->result_array() as $row){ ## get the results here } } I just wonder if I'm actually doing this right in that the query always needs to be run twice? The queries I'm using are much more complex than what is shown above.
