  • Problem installing wordpress child themes.

    Hi, I've tried to install either the Fusion or Thematic child themes for my blog. My Wordpress directory is located at myblog/wordpress while my domain is just myblog (example). Everything works fine with both basic themes or the parent Fusion or Thematic themes. When I install a child theme for either framework, I can view the preview and select 'activate.' However, after that my entire site crashes. I can't even view the wordpress admin panel. I've had to restore my database from my hosting provider just to get my blog working. All that I'm able to see is my favicon icon and a blank page. I've tried to deactivate all plugins and this doesn't help either. I really want to use the Hybrid News child template. Any thoughts on what might be happening? thanks so much!

  • Some help needed with a SQL query

    Hello, I need some help with a MySQL query. I have two tables, one with offers and one with statuses. An offer can has one or more statuses. What I would like to do is get all the offers and their latest status. For each status there's a table field named 'added' which can be used for sorting. I know this can be easily done with two queries, but I need to make it with only one because I also have to apply some filters later in the project.     I have two related tables: Groups and Clients. Clients belongs to Groups so I have a foreign key "group_id" that references the group a client belongs to. I'm changing the Group id from an autoincrement to a UUID. So what I need is to generate a UUID for each Group and update the Clients table at once to reflect the changes and keep the records related. Is there a way to do this with multiple-table update on MySQL? Adding tables definitions for clarification.   • jquery image swap works in one html file but not another

    I have two header templates for my site. One for the blog section and one for everything else. The below code swaps an image in my nav menu, on hover. It works for one template but not the other. The html code is pretty much identical in both header templates.     I'm following a guide (http://www.jsparrowhawk.com/blog/?p=75) on how to use the As3IsoLib library. It seems his examples are a little erroneous at times. I'm at the part of creating a sprite, assigning it an image and then rendering.   • MySQL Full-text Search Workaround for innoDB tables

    I'm designing an internal web application that uses MySQL as its backend database. The integrity of the data is crucial, so I am using the innoDB engine for its foreign key constraint features. I want to do a full-text search of one type of records, and that is not supported natively with innoDB tables. I'm not willing to move to MyISAM tables due to their lack of foreign key support and due to the fact that their locking is per table, not per row. Would it be bad practice to create a mirrored table of the records I need to search using the MyISAM engine and use that for the full-text search? This way I'm just searching a copy of the data and if anything happens to that data it's not as big of a deal because it can always be re-created. Or is this an awkward way of doing this that should be avoided? Thanks.

  • RewriteCond simply doesn't work, doesn't check properly if file exists

    Hey everybody. I've been trying to solve this for hours now but came up with nothing. Inside .htaccess, whenever somebody requests an image from a folder of my website, I'm trying to check if a file with the same name exists in another folder; if it does, return that file; if it doesn't, return the file originally requested. It seems so easy but it simply doesn't work. The .htaccess code is as follows: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond /images/blog/watermark/$1 -f RewriteRule ^(.*) /images/blog/watermark/$1 The "RewriteCond" always returns negative, so the image requested is always loaded as is. If I change it to, like, RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f it always returns positive, so it gets the image from the folder I want - except when the image's not there, generating an error, which is exactly what I'm trying to prevent. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I understand this is a big ask, it would need to match all of these rows together in every combination possible, so it needs the best optimization. I have tried the below query, but it just hangs for ages: SELECT `datas`.*, `dictionary`.`word` FROM `datas`, `dictionary` WHERE `datas`.`data` LIKE CONCAT('%', `dictionary`.`word`, '%') AND LENGTH(`dictionary`.`word`) > 3 ORDER BY `length` ASC LIMIT 15 I have also tried something similar to the above with a left join, and on clause that specified the like statement.

The results are fine except when table B is completely empty, but then I do not get any records, even from table A. Later It wont work yet!   • MySQL returns fewer rows with GROUP BY statement

    I've got a MySQL database that stores image information. Right now it only has three rows stored in the database, and each row is associated with something like, for instance, a unique blog post via a key column. As of right now, one "blog post key" has one image, and one has two images in the database. When I run this query, MySQL returns all three rows. SELECT `id`, `key`, `url` FROM (`images`) WHERE `key` = 'TpaS4G5h' OR `key` = '78855e44' However, when i add the GROUP BY statement I only get two rows... one for each key. SELECT `id`, `key`, `url` FROM (`images`) WHERE `key` = 'TpaS4G5h' OR `key` = '78855e44' GROUP BY `key` I'm sure there is a simple solution, but I don't know what it is... so any help would be really appreciated. I am trying to write some jquery that will check the text in the title of the current full blog entry page and match it with the corresponding title in the sidebar navigation so that I can apply a class to style for an active state link ... but I'm not quite getting it!     I'm getting into CodeIgniter and trying to figure out the good architecture for my models. What kind of models would you create for the following simple example: list page of blog entries: shows part of the entry data, number of comments blog entry page: shows all the entry data, comment list (with part of the comment data) comment page: shows all the comment data I'm trying to get this right so that it's simple and effective. I don't want to load too much information (from the db) on the pages where I don't need them. E.g. should the same entry model handle both multiple entries as well as a single entry? And how should the comments be loaded? I only need the number of comments on the multiple entries (list) page but some of the comment data on the single entry page. How would you handle this?

    i have a mini blog app, and a 'timeline' . there i want to be displayed all the posts from all the friends of a user, plus the posts of that user himself. For that, i have to make some kind of a 'join' between the results of two queries (queries on the same table) , so that the final result will be the combination of the user - posesor of the account, and all his friends. My query looks like this: blog = New.objects.filter(created_by = following,created_by = request.user) By that ',' i wanted to make a 'join' -i found something like this on a doc- but this method is not correct- i'm getting an error.     I am trying to filter/forward emails from a gmail account to a tumblr blog. I have created the tumblr blog and set it up to receive emails via a tumblr email address as seen here: http://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/email_publishing#can The problem is that, as stated by the tumblr email set-up page: "What if I’m having trouble with email publishing? A few tips: Send posts directly to your mobile posting email address. You cannot email another email address and then forward the email from there." This appears to make filtering emails from a gmail account impossible. Anyone know of work around for this?

At the end of the test, the test-engine will evaluate the answers. If the student obtains more than 50% then he can unlock the next module. And his test score is printed using Crystal Reports and saved in teacher's database, against that student's record. Else, if his score is less than 50%, the test-engine will count the no. of attempts to clear the quiz & randomly generate another set of 20 questions from a file (from the teacher's database).
