• Centering in IE5/6/7/8, and FF

  I'm trying to centre the content of a div such that the display is correct in IE 5,6,7 and 8, as well as FF. <div id="YoutubeClip"> <h3>Subscribe on YouTube!</h3><br> <ul class="gallery clearfix"><a href="http://www.someyoutubevideo.com" rel="prettyPhoto" title="Some youtube title"><img alt="some youtube title" src="youtube clip image" border="0"></a></ul> Some youtube title </div> As expected, this displays the image and the text centered in FF. In IE5, the image is left justified. The text is also left justified, with only one word on a line. It appears like this. IE 6 has the same problem as above. IE 7 appears to have the same problem, but when I put a border around the div, the content overflows the border. The display appears correct in IE8 Any help into this would be great. I'm trying to learn CSS better and I haven't been able to figure out the intricacies of this issue yet.

• Ajax: strange behaviour while checking a textfield

  I have a registration form with checking the available name for username field through ajax. Inputing a username into username field and pushing the "Check!" button, the script sends value to php script. Then php script replaces the username field with the username field + style like this: <input type="text" name="login" value="'.$_GET["user"].'" style="width:205; height:22; border-width:1; border-color:red; border-style:solid; background-color:rgb(255,232,230);"> So when replacing the username field in the form with its equivalent from php script and then submitting a form, it is then get to script on the page that checks whether the username field is empty or not. And it returns an error that it is empty, though after checking through ajax the username field it has value. I don't understand why it gets to empty field checking script, having the same field name and having value?

• Jquery Returning values to original

  So my script works perfectly, but here is the issue, I have buttons (Sprite action here) that are 40px height, but the top 20 only shows perfectly. When you click the button ie img the bottom 20px show perfecto! but... Issue, i included in my script a way to return all others to there default (only one should be selected) now, how can I fix this issue that I seem unable to correct as I can select multiple of them ** USERS can switch ** The last part of the script that is the issue. • How do I toggle CSS with jQuery?

  I have the following code: $('#bc' + $.trim($this) + ' span.dashed-circle').css({ 'border' : '5px solid #000'}); That is triggered by a click.function(). I would like that to be a toggle - so when I click the element, it changes the border to what I have above...but when it is clicked again it disappears or rather sets the border to ' '. Thoughts? Edit: I should have been explicit...but I don't want to create a CSS class. The reason being is because when I do that, it messes up the formatting of the element being styled. I am sure that it is some small quirk somewhere that would fix it, but I am not interested in wading through the entire code base to fix little positioning issues with a new class. I would much rather just edit the css attribute directly - because it doesn't interfere with the layout. Edit2: Here is the jsfiddle of the code I am trying to edit. • Is it possible to embed a flash player in a table and retain the table properties

  I'd like to embed a music (flash) player in a table with clickable images but the embed code seems to throw the table properties off - it extends the width of the table. Is it possible to embed the player on the same row as the image whilst still retaining the table width? • How do I get rid of the space between <img> elements in a row in a html page?

My problem is that there are white spaces about 5px wide between the borders of neighbouring images and I have set the margin to be 0px but it does not work. So what is happening here?

• Getting a table cell to become a different color on mouseover

  Currently, when I create a table, and I mouseover a cell, that entire row is highlighted. I'm trying to make it so that it is only the immediate cell. • cannot eliminate space between 2 horizontal divs inside containing div

  Should be easy, right? Just set the outer containing div's padding to zero, and set the two side-by-side divs inside the outer div to have margin:0 but that's having no effect on the space between the 2 horizontal divs. What I need is the red-outlined left div to touch the green-outlined right-side div. Despite my effort using padding and margin, the space between the 2 divs will not go away. • Windows 7 Mobile ListBox uncustomizable?

No matter what I do, the background is black/gray, the selected items have a blue border, and there is padding between the items in the listbox (i'm using images). • filling colors on a map - PHP

  I am trying to determine how to fill colors onto a map - such as the "Risk" board game map. I've done this before with HTML tables, by pulling an HTML color code from a SQL table and then just using it to fill the cell the color I want it. But for a non-square map, I'm not sure where to look. I have created a very simple two color map - its white with black borders. My desired result is having the 'regions' on the map shaded with a color, based on data in a sql table (just like the "fill" button in Paint). This looks like what I need: http://php.net/manual/en/function.imagefilltoborder.php and now.. how to define the borders... At the moment I have tried nothing, because the question was: how do I have PHP fill parts of an image? I have tried making an image in Paint, and then scratching my head wondering how to fill parts of it. Having stumbled upon a link, let me focus this a bit more: It appears that with imagefilltoborder that I can put an image on my server, perhaps one that looks like a black and white version of the RISK map - black borders and white everything else. Some questions: Is it correct that the 'border' variable should use the color of my border (whatever value black is) so that the code can "see" where the border is? Is it correct that I'll just need to figure out X,Y coords to begin the fill? Does this work if I have 10 different spots to fill on the map? Can I use varying colors from code or pulled from SQL to assign different colors to those 10 spots, and use 10 different X,Y coords to get them all?

Currently, I am doing this by: $(".addChunk").live('click', (function(){create_chunk(this.parentNode.parentNode)})) $(".toggleNotes").live('click',function(){toggle_notes(this.parentNode.parentNode.firstElementChild.lastElementChild)}) Is there a better (i.e., more proper) way to do this than to string together parentNotes and firstElementChild's and etc.? I'm basically looking around the DOM tab in firebug.

• Problem Binding to a Brush Property in WPF

  Working in WPF, writing a custom user control. I am trying to change the background property of the Border element when I change the value of a property of the class. Right now I am working on simply binding it to a DP, though if there is a better way I am open to suggestions.   I'm coding a Jquery Mobile 1.2, Jquery 1.8.2, css, and HTML 5 based app that I need to allow the user to select multiple images and execute a command.   Hello everyone my menu bar can't fit into my <div> area at different browser. I have checked with Opera and Chrome it looks fine but with Explorer and Firefox my menu can't fit.
