  • problem burning DVD using IMAPI2 in Windows XP using c#.net..

    i have used IMAPI2 for buring CD/DVD in windows XP..but it is giving me unhandeled exception...it is written as:- System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast COM object of type 'IMAPI2.Interop.MsftFileSystemImageClass' to interface type 'IMAPI2.Interop.MsftFileSystemImage'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{7CFF842C-7E97-4807-8304-910DD8F7C051}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)) can anyone plz help me out to solve this pbm.. i have updated the XP storage 1.0 as written in the code project.. but still im not able to solve this error.. this project is working fine in Vista and Windows7 but unable to work with XP.. is there any solution to burn DVD in XP by using IMAPI or any other component..??? i have taken the sample code from http://www.codeproject.com/KB/miscctrl/imapi2.aspx

  • (Not So) Silly Objective-C inheritance problem when using property - GCC Bug?

    Update 2 - Many people are insisting I need to declare an iVar for the property. Some are saying not so, as I am using Modern Runtime (64 bit). I can confirm that I have been successfully using @property without iVars for months now. Therefore, I think the 'correct' answer is an explanation as to why on 64bit I suddenly have to explicitly declare the iVar when (and only when) i'm going to access it from a child class. The only one I've seen so far is a possible GCC bug (thanks Yuji). Not so simple after all... Update - I messed up one line of the original copy and paste - corrected. The @property call was missing (nonatomic, retain) but is a red herring - STILL NEED AN ANSWER! Thanks. I've been scratching my head with this for a couple of hours - I haven't used inheritance much. Here I have set up a simple Test B class that inherits from Test A, where an ivar is declared. But I get the compilation error that the variable is undeclared. This only happens when I add the property and synthesize declarations - works fine without them.   • Problem running python/matplotlib in background after ending ssh session.

    Hi there, I have to VPN and then ssh from home to my work server and want to run a python script in the background, then log out of the ssh session. My script makes several histogram plots using matplotlib, and as long as I keep the connection open everything is fine, but if I log out I keep getting an error message in the log file I created for the script. The way that I'm creating the figures is, loglog() hist(list,x) ylabel('y') xlabel('x') savefig('%s_hist.ps' %source.name) close() The script requires some initial input, so the way I'm running it in the background is python scriptToRun.py << start>& logfile.log& Is there a way around this, or do I just have to stay ssh'd into my machine?   • Trying to use VB to automate some queries. Running into what looks like a string problem

    Hi there I'm using MS Access 2003 and I'm trying to execute a few queries at once using VB. When I write out the query in SQL it works fine, but when I try to do it in VB it asks me to "Enter Parameter Value" for DEPA, then DND (which are the first few letters of a two strings I have). Moreover I don't even know if it's possible the way I want it! The #mainContent should always be centered horizontally in the browserwindow. It should be 1024px in width and a 100% of the windowheight. Now the difficult part. I need two divs, one on the left side, one on the right side of the #mainContent. Both should be 100% in height, but should ALWAYS have the rest of the browserwindow. If the browserwindow has only 1024px in width #navLeft and #navRight are invisible.   • problem writing xml to file with .net mvc - timeout?

    Hey, so having an issue with writing out to an xml file. Works fine for single requests via the browser, but when I use something like Charles to perform 5-10 repeated requests concurrently several of them will fail. The trace simply shows a 500 error with no content inside, basically I think they start timing out waiting for write access or something... This method is inside my repository class, have also attempted to have repository instance as a singleton but doesn't appear to make any difference.. Any help would be much appreciated.   • Really strange problem with jailbroken iPhone 4. Lags but fixes by running Cydia a second

    I have jailbreaked my iPhone 4 iOS 4.1 with both limera1n and greenpois0n and the outcome is the same. My phone is really slow opening apps. (including Phone.app an SMS.app) they take about 10-15seconds to load. BUT if I start Cydia for only one second everything goes back to normal. (Please note that I have to have 3G or WI-FI access to do this) Until I let my phone sit for about 15 minutes then it's the same again. Please note that if I don't exit the apps they seem to continue working but with a bit of lag. Cydia also seems to be the only app not affected by the delay. "Loding Data" appears as quick as normal. These issues did not start to appear until about 2 weeks after I jailbreaked my phone. I have tried running "speed test" while it's in its slow state. I start the app and the app loads for like 15 seconds and then the result shows everyhting is good. All green. Since Cydia seems for fix it temporarily i figured it's jailbreak-related and not hardware-related.

    I am building a trading portfolio management system that is responsible for production, optimization, and simulation of non-high frequency trading portfolios (dealing with 1min or 3min bars of data, not tick data). I plan on employing Amazon web services to take on the entire load of the application. I have four choices that I am considering as language. a) Java b) C++ c) C# d) Python Here is the scope of the extremes of the project scope. This isn't how it will be, maybe ever, but it's within the scope of the requirements: Weekly simulation of 10,000,000 trading systems. (Each trading system is expected to have its own data mining methods, including feature selection algorithms which are extremely computationally-expensive. Imagine 500-5000 features using wrappers. These are not run often by any means, but it's still a consideration) Real-time production of portfolio w/ 100,000 trading strategies Taking in 1 min or 3 min data from every stock/futures market around the globe (approx 100,000) Portfolio optimization of portfolios with up to 100,000 strategies. (rather intensive algorithm) Speed is a concern, but I believe that Java can handle the load. I just want to make sure that Java CAN handle the above requirements comfortably. I don't want to do the project in C++, but I will if it's required. The reason C# is on there is because I thought it was a good alternative to Java, even though I don't like Windows at all and would prefer Java if all things are the same. Python - I've read somethings on PyPy and pyscho that claim python can be optimized with JIT compiling to run at near C-like speeds.... That's pretty much the only reason it is on this list, besides that fact that Python is a great language and would probably be the most enjoyable language to code in, which is not a factor at all for this project, but a perk. To sum up: - real time production - weekly simulations of a large number of systems - weekly/monthly optimizations of portfolios - large numbers of connections to collect data from There is no dealing with millisecond or even second based trades. The only consideration is if Java can possibly deal with this kind of load when spread out of a necessary amount of EC2 servers. Thank you guys so much for your wisdom.

  • Have I found a security problem in an API or do I just not understand SSL?

    I'm working on building a set of Python bindings around an XML-based API provided by a vendor. The vendor requires that all transactions be conducted over SSL. Using a Linux box, I created a key file and a CSR for my application. Using their self-service web portal, I then generate a certificate using that CSR. Both the key file and the certificate are used when making the SSL request to the API. I'm now working on designing exception classes to make error messages more verbose (and, hopefully, more useful to developers using my bindings). Part of my testing has included altering the key file: transpose a couple characters here, replace 4 or 5 with random characters there, etc. To my surprise, altering the key file had no effect! As long as I didn't change the total length of it, the API didn't complain about a bad key file. The only way I was able to throw an error was by swapping in a completely different key from another application. At that point, the API complained about the Common Name not matching. Is this normal behavior or has the vendor not properly implemented SSL?

It only works if I declare dir before buf: [working code] char *dir; char *buf; ... dir = getcwd(buf, psize); When using another flavor of Unix, such as Mac OS X, I don't get any of these what seem to be very strict rules on how to write the code.
