• Model class is not found in zend framework project (quickstart) ,please help

  The things I did is zf create project demo1 in command prompt add the lines to application.ini appnamespace = "Application" resources.layout.layoutPath = APPLICATION_PATH "/layouts/scripts" add a layout with header and footer using partial() (They are perfectly worked) create Data.php in models directory and add this simple class <?php class Application_Model_Data{ }//Application for appnamespace then I tried to load this class(by creating instance)from index controller index action $data = new Application_Model_Data(); but when I test it even in this level it gives an error Fatal error: Class 'Application_Model_Data' not found in C:\Zend\...\IndexController.php Question Do I want to add a autoloader to load models in the application( I'm not used modules) if not what was I missed to add please help I'm stuck in the beginning,Thank you

• Show a modal right after signup?

  When a user signup at my page I want them to be redirected to the root_path(this I have figured out how to do in the user controller). But then I want a modal to show in front of this page(and this should only happen the first time the user see this root/home page(like a flash message). Here is my create method in the user controller: def create @user = User.new(params[:user]) if @user.save sign_in @user redirect_to root_path else render 'new' end end The modal is placed in app/views/layouts/_modal.html.erb. Does anybody know how to make this happen? (Jepp, I am a newbie :)

• What technology should I use for a complex report?

  I have a task to generate reports from a Visual Studio C# application. This is a replacement (caused by new requirements) for a program written using the built-in implementation of Crystal Reports. Although workable, it was far from ideal. The reports have conditional content (If type=1, print this, if type=2 print that.) Crystal does not adjust spacing dynamically and the various pieces were not the same length making for some unprofessional-looking spacing. I had thought of generating the reports in HTML, which would be feasible, but I'm concerned that you lose a degree of control, and I may be asked, e.g. to "move this up a bit" or similar which may be tricky. I'm not either a Crystal guru or an HTML guru. What other reporting technologies are available that would make it easy to drop in parts of different sizes, do table layouts, etc.?

• switching between one and two displays in visual studio

  Most of the time I work Visual Studio with two monitors. I setup my Visual Studio to sit nicely across both monitors with code on the one side and property windows etc. on the other. However, occasionally I need to remove into my work station from home where I only have one monitor. What ends up happening is I have to re-setup my entire workspace to be used on one monitor, and when I get back to my work station I have to undo this again to get to my optimal 2 monitor environment. Is there a way to save some set layouts in Visual Studio so I could quickly switch back and forward? Example: One Monitor Layout versus Two Monito Layout?

• Normalising book titles - Python

  Hi folks, I have a list of books titles: "The Hobbit: 70th Anniversary Edition" "The Hobbit" "The Hobbit (Illustrated/Collector Edition)[There and Back Again]" "The Hobbit: or, There and Back Again" "The Hobbit: Gift Pack" and so on... I thought that if I normalised the titles somehow, it would be easier to implement an automated way to know what book each edition is referring to. normalised = ''.join([char for char in title if char in (string.ascii_letters + string.digits)]) or normalised = '' for char in title: if char in ':/()|': break normalised += char return normalised But obviously they are not working as intended, as titles can contain special characters and editions can basically have very different title layouts. • Android: how do i custom arrange menu items?

  I would like to arrange the menu items in my app so that one item appears in its own line, and the other 3 items appear below it. I know that this is possible because i have seen apps do it. I tried writing a menu xml with linear layouts to arrange the items, but this doesnt work. I have also tried putting them in different groups, but I had no luck with that either. I know that this is possible: i have seen it done. Anyone have any ideas?

• What is the best way to write faster on Vim using a non-english keyboard?

  I usually use Vim, and its great for the ability to do faster some actions than other editors. However, since I live in Argentina I have a Latin American keyboard, that makes everything in Vim pretty slower (to write / to search, I must press Shift+7). Since I don't want to be changing Keyboard layouts all the time (and its pretty difficult to get used to pressing symbols as in an English keyboard), I was wondering if there was a vim plugin (of .vimrc file) that may be useful for international users. Just for the sake of it, here's how the Latin American keyboard is laid out: By the way, I would love to go and buy an English keyboard, but unfortunately I use a Laptop.

• Including full LaTeX documents within others.

  I'm currently finishing off my dissertation, and would like to be able to include some documents within my LaTeX document. The files I'd like to include are weekly reports done in LaTeX to my supervisor. Obviously all documents are page numbered seperately. I would like them to be included in the final document. I could concatenate all the final PDFs using GhostScript or some other tool, but I would like to have consistent numbering throughout the document. I have tried including the LaTeX from each document in the main document, but the preamble etc causes problems and the small title I have in each report takes a whole page... In summary, I'm looking for a way of including a number of 1 or 2 page self-complete LaTeX files in a large report, keeping their original layouts, but changing the page numbering.

'/modules/default')); The code above will load all models and forms automatically in modules/default, and now, I have a problem to load forms and models in /modules/admin, Any solutions to solve this problem? • Grails - showing page processing/render debug information in development mode

  I've been experimenting with Grails for the past two days and, so far, I'm really happy with it. Coming from Rails, the only thing I've really been missing here is the dev-mode debug information shown after the page has been served. I've tried the "debug" plugin but its not very useful as it only shows the total processing time. • A non-ugly way to persist dialog contents across orientation changes?

  So I have a managed AlertDialog with a number of EditTexts & separate portrait + landscape layouts. The user opens the dialog in portrait mode, enters some text and then all of a sudden decides to pop out the keyboard. Now, I need to remove the dialog and recreate it for the changed layout persisting the text entered. What I can think of is getting references to the EdiTexts in onPrepareDialog(..), then getting the actual text in onConfigurationChanged(..), then removing the dialog, then showing it again, then populating it. Rather ugly, huh? Are there any better options?

• Zend disableLayout() leaves html & body tags in output

  Hi all, could anyone take a look at this for me? Problem: trying to output a csv on demand using Zend Framework. I want to avoid creating files on the system so I'm trying to use the same solution posted here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1136264/export-csv-in-zend-framework However - I'm still getting html and body tags in the csv. I'm setting layouts in the ini file. I've tried putting the csv call earlier in the request cycle using preDispatch etc - but to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated SWK

• WPF Logical Tree - bottom up vs. top down

  Hello, I've read the MSDN article about the layouts pass, that states: When a node is added or removed from the logical tree, property invalidations are raised on the node's parent and all its children. As a result, a top-down construction pattern should always be followed to avoid the cost of unnecessary invalidations on nodes that have already been validated. Now lets assume I do this. Won't the users see the control tree populate itself and the layout change several times during the control creation process? I want the whole control tree to just appear completely full. Thanks!

• Analog of Java Form Layout in Qt

  Once I have programmed GUI with Java and have used Form Layouts. Form layout (if I am not mistaken that is from SWT library) made possible to give right, left, top and bottom adges of any GUI element (widget) with respect to other widgets in the same widget (parent widget) or with respect to the adges of parent widget. So it was possible to control the future of widgets that are inside of another one, when that "another widget" is being resized. In Qt I have find the QFormLayout which is similar to Java one, but seems I can't handle with widgets as flexible in terms of relative positioning, as it was with Java's Form Layout. So are there any other means to give a widget position with respect to the others (without overloading resizeEvent function) as that was in Java? Thanks.

  I just finished the "15 min Blog Post tutorial" included in the documentation for cakephp. I was asked for another tutorial to change the layout for first tutorial. However, I am fairly new to MVC programming/Cakephp and I have no real clue how to do so. Well, I know I need "default.ctp" placed in app/views/layouts/ and I presume I need to include to include my data? . . . I am really at a loss of what to do. I set up my default.ctp as I mentioned above, but when I go to localhost:9999/posts the layout is still the same. I guess I need to include a stylesheet (and if so, where?) I guess if someone can point me in the right direction to a beginner's guide to layout styling or how to use it I would greatly appreciate any help.

• Accessing Java Connector Architecture (JCA) from a Non-Managed environment

  Hi, We have been using a JCA to interface with a low-level network resource from within WebSphere, however we have a requirement to be able to access the same network resource externally from Tomcat (i.e. not in a managed environment). The network communication and protocol layouts is very verbose, so we would rather not copy/paste several thousand lines of code (and then have to maintain them separately). From reading the JCA spec, there is supposedly some support to execute the code in a non-managed environment (such as Tomcat). Unfortunately, I have no idea what the interfaces are supposed to do, or how to call them from outside a managed environment (the spec is pretty vague). Are there any implementation examples out there that show how to modify a JCA to be usable in a non-managed environment? Thanks!

• Problem with Firefox, javascript, and Canvas

  I'm having a Firefox-specific issue with a script I wrote to create 3d layouts. The correct behavior is that the script pulls the background-color from an element and then uses that color to draw on the canvas. When a user mouses over a link and the background-color changes to the :hover rule, the color being drawn changes on the canvas changes as well. When the user mouses out, the color should revert back to non-hover color. This works as expected in Webkit browsers and Opera, but Firefox chokes on it if mouseout is triggered and no mouseover event follows it. • PHP Framework Benefits / Downfalls

  I have been a PHP developer for about 10 years now and until about a month ago I have never used a framework. The framework I am now using due to an existing codebase is cakePHP 1.2 I can see certain benefits of the frameworks with the basic helpers like default layouts. I can definitely see the benefits of MVC keeping the logic separate etc. But the query building just seems to be bloated. Is this expected? Am I likely to be able to build better queries than the framework could build? I just feel I could get my apps running better without a framework. What are your thoughts?

• Possible to add hook as android fetches XML-strings?

  I'm on my first week with android and would appreciate any insight if it's possible to hook or override the default behaviour when an android application reads their values from the resource-files to the shown layouts. What I want is to over time be able to add new/updated strings OTA and store locally and then on launch of application load new values instead of the ones in the default /res. Ideally i guess, would be an override of setContentView. Files holding updates will be in same xml-format as those in /res. (Please, no advices in other ways to do this. • Why can't I set a layout for a page in a QStackedWidget in designer?

  Steps to reproduce in designer for Qt 4.8.0 I create a new dialog form in Qt Designer I add a QStackedWidget to the dialog I set the layout of the dialog to make the stacked layout size with the dialog I add a few controls to page one in the stacked widget I select the first page in the stacked widget in the right hand tree view of controls The icon next to that page (which is a QWidget) shows the page is missing a layout When I click one of the layout buttons above, it doesn't change the layout of the page QWidget, it changes the layout of the dialog even though I had explicitly selected the page. Is this a bug in designer? Am I missing something? I really don't want to add the layouts programatically as that prevents me from being able to layout the pages in designer in the same .ui file

Can this be done in the model in this way?
