• How to get "paster request" to use config host value instead of localhost?

  I'm trying to access my pylons application via cron job to send notifications to my users. The way I'm doing this is by running the application using something like: paster request myconfig.ini /maintenance/do In the actual controller I check for the "paste.command_request" to block public access. Everything works but the only problem is that within the notifications that I send to my users there is a link to their profile and the host is "localhost" which should instead be the domain name of the application. When the notifications are sent from within the served application (say, a user modifies their settings on the site) the notifications have the correct url. I am using mako to render my email tamplates and within the template I am using the "pylons.url" method with "qualified" set to "True". Am I missing something here? Thanks in advance.

  I am using Assembly.LoadFrom within a web service to load assemblies from a web site. but the problem is it is in the virutal directory and the server.mappath parses the url like \share\mydll.dll and loadform method failed. Is there anyway to reference dll from the remote location? I've tried passing the url (http:\localhost\downloadable\mydll.dll) and again it got "Could not load file or assembly 'http:\localhost\downloadable\mydll.dll' or one of its dependencies. HTTP download of assemblies has been disabled for this appdomain. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131048)"

  how to restrict the page to be browsed in the other browser with the same urls with out logging asp.net & c#.net. i followed the following steps for example: i am logging in to a page developed in asp.net & c#.net. i am viewing a page.Let it be admin page. i am copying the url of the admin page. i am opening another browser window and pasting the url. i was able to see the same admin page in the other browser. the question is how to restrict the opening of admin page in other browser,if they try to open admin page in another browser while user is currently viewing the admin page then it should be redirected to the login page? how could this be accomplished? is there any thing could be done with "login" control tool of the .net frame work?

• How do you link to an action that takes an array as a parameter (RedirectToAction and/or ActionLink)

  I have an action defined like so: public ActionResult Foo(int[] bar) { ... } Url's like this will work as expected: .../Controller/Foo?bar=1&bar=3&bar=5 I have another action that does some work and then redirects to the Foo action above for some computed values of bar. Is there a simple way of specifying the route values with RedirectToAction or ActionLink so that the url's get generated like the above example? • IE8 BHO tab problem

  I am developing an IE8 BHO in C#. One of the functions of the BHO is to maintain a list of website pairs visited by the user. I add the pair (url1, url2) to the list if the user visits url2 by clicking on a link present at url1. I will be using this info to show the ie history in a nice way as opposed to the default behaviour of showing a long list of visited websites (something along the lines of the Firefox addon Voyage ). In my BHO, I am currently using the BeforeNavigate2 event to find the URL the user is going to visit. This works fine as long as the page is opened in the same tab. But, how to find if the user opens the link in a new tab/new window? Is there a way (other than IPC) in which we can find the url from which the user came from? Thanks, simil

• How to add classes for styling to Drupal when using menu_block?

  I'm using the menu_block module in Drupal for my menus. This works very well, but I want my menu items styled as an image menu. This cannot be done nicely with the default settings - the menu items look something like this: <li class="leaf first menu-mlid-199"><a href="/this/is/some/nice/url" title="Homepage">Homepage</a></li> I'm guessing I could used the menu-mlid-199 class to get the styling I want, because it's a unique id of each menu item, but that seems rather ugly to me. Is there any other way to add reasonably named classes to my menu items, e.g. generate them from the page title or url alias? Even just a sequence would seem nicer - like menu-item-1 and so on.

• Inspect in memory hsqldb while debugging

  We're using hdsqldb in memory to run junit tests which operate against a database. The db is setup before running each test via a spring configuration. All works fine. Now when a tests fails it can be convinient to be able to inspect the values in the in memory database. Is this possible? If so how? Our url is: jdbc.url=jdbc:hsqldb:mem:testdb;sql.enforce_strict_size=true The database is destroyed after each tests. But when the debugger is running the database should also still be alive. I've tried connecting with the sqldb databaseManager. That works, but I don't see any tables or data. Any help is highly appreciated!

  Hello - I have been stuck on this all weekend and failed miserably! Please help me to claw back my sanity!! Your challenge For my first Silverlight application I thought it would be fun to use the World of Warcraft armoury to list the characters in my guild. This involves making an asyncronous from Silverlight (duh!) to the WoW armoury which is XML based. SIMPLE EH? Take a look at this link and open the source. You'll see what I mean: http://eu.wowarmory.com/guild-info.xml?r=Eonar&n=Gifted and Talented Below is code for getting the XML (the call to ShowGuildies will cope with the returned XML - I have tested this locally and I know it works). I have not managed to get the expected returned XML at all. Notes: If the browser is capable of transforming the XML it will do so, otherwise HTML will be provided. I think it examines the UserAgent I am a seasoned asp.net web developer C# so go easy if you start talking about native to Windows Forms / WPF I can't seem to set the UserAgent setting in .net 4.0 - doesn't seem to be a property off the HttpWebRequest object for some reason - i think it used to be available. Silverlight 4.0 (created as 3.0 originally before I updated my installation of Silverlight to 4.0) Created using C# 4.0 Please explain as if you talking to a web developer and not a proper programming lol!   I've modified my .htaccess file to have the following statement RewriteCond $1 !^index.php$ RewriteRule ^/?([^/]+)$ index.php?c=home&m=details&seo=$1 [L,NS] This allows me to use product URL's like this: http://domain.com/product_name However, when trying to access a file at the same level as index.php, it always calls the RewriteRule above and errors out. I need to be able to access files like below, but each URL currently attempts to load index.php. http://domain.com/about.htm http://domain.com/terms.htm http://domain.com/robots.txt etc Any suggestions on how I can modify my htaccess file to get this to work correctly?

• Rails route rewriting quesiton

  Hi guys, I think this is an easy question. I am using this useful Flash Document Reader called FlexPaper. I have it embeded in one of my Show pages. But when I click the a link on their tool bar to show the document in a new browser, it points to the following link ... http://0.0.0.0:3000/intels/FlexPaperViewer.swf?ZoomTime=0.5&FitPageOnLoad=false&PrintEnabled=false&SwfFile=%2FPaper.swf which doesn't work, but if I remove the "intels" from the path so the url looks like: http://0.0.0.0:3000/FlexPaperViewer.swf?ZoomTime=0.5&FitPageOnLoad=false&PrintEnabled=false&SwfFile=%2FPaper.swf It works fine. My question is what is the best way to handle this. Can you write a route that rewrites a url that starts with intels/FlexPaperViewer.swf and removes the intels prefix? What would that look like?   I have a basic Silverlight 4 project called "MySLApp" which has the associated MySLApp.Web project. (names changed for simplicity) It compiles down into these files (in the silverlight project): AppManifest.xaml MySLApp.dll MySLApp.xap MySLAppTestPage.html And the Web project builds into: Bin\MySLApp.Web.dll ClientBin\MySLApp.xap What I also have in my Web project is a .ASHX file that serves up a generated image, which my Silverlight application calls out to as the URL of an image: var uri = new Uri(@"http://localhost:1122/ImageServer.ashx", UriKind.Absolute); var bi = new BitmapImage(uri); TagImage.Source = bi; My big question boils down to this: How do I deploy my app to my IIS server? • Invoking browser on streaming media URLs

  I have a dirt simple little function that launches the blackberry browser on a streaming media file in order to launch the built in media player. Everything works fine but there is this annoying dialog every time from the browser asking me if I want to save or open the file. My answer is always "open" the file so is there a way I can make it default and not bring up the dialog each time? The code I'm using to launch the browser // Get the default sessionBrowserSession browserSession = Browser.getDefaultSession(); // now launch the URL browserSession.displayPage(url); This is on blackberry OS 5.0 Thanks!

In short, if the route definition is the first in the route table, then the parameter takes its default value. But the others below don't.

• Problem requesting a HTTPS with TCL

  Hi Everybody, I'm trying to do the following request using TCL (OpenACS) http::register https 443 tls::socket set url "https://encrypted.google.com" set token [http::geturl $url -timeout 30000] set status [http::status $token] set answer [http::data $token] http::cleanup $token http::unregister https The problem is that when I read the $status variable I get "eof" and the $answer variable becomes empty. I tried enabling tls V.1 http::register https 443 [list tls::socket -tls1 1] and it works only for the site https://www.galileo.edu, but not for https://encrypted.google.com. The site what I'm trying to connect is https://graph.facebook.com/me/feed?access_token=... but it doesn't work. I used curl to retrieve the contents of the pages in HTTPS and it works, I have installed OpenSSL, so I can't see the problem, there is another way to do HTTPS connections with TCL?. I can't see if this is a problem of coding (maybe I'm registered wrong the https protocol) or maybe It is a bad configuration of my server. Hope somebody helps!! Thanks!

• How to configure MySQL connection properties with Spring, Hibernate 3.3 and c3p0?

  I am currently in the process of upgrading an application from Hibernate 3.2 to Hibernate 3.3. I though I'd stick with the default connection pool (Hibernate changed its default from Commons DBCP to c3p0) as I don't have any good reason to choose a non-default pool. At least non but having used DBCP before. The upgrade went pretty much without any problems so far. The only thing I can't get to work is passing properties to the underlying MySQL JDBC4Connection. Up to now, I used DBCP's BasicDataSource.addConnectionProperty(String,String) to pass properties (useUnicode=true, characterEncodin=UTF-8, characterSetResults=UTF-8, zeroDateTimeBehavior=convertToNull). However, I can't find any way to do the same with c3p0 other than including them in the JDBC URL. (That's something I'd like to avoid as I wanna keep the URL configurable without forcing users to include those parameters.) So far, I've tried to use a ConnectionCustomizer without success. Any other suggestions?

• Saving a "project"-type document (containing sub-documents)

  I'm trying to create a "project"-like document, in that it contains subdocuments in a specified directory. I'd like a brand new save of a document to set up that directory with appropriate subdirectories. I'd like a "Save As" to copy all those subdirectories and any files within them to the new location. But I'd like a "Save" to only update certain data files and (of course) not overwrite all the subdocuments! What's the "safe" way to do this? I tried keeping track of the file's location in my document, and checking to see if it was the same or different than the save location, but it feels messy, and I'm worried that Apple is doing something behind the scenes that will make this direct URL-to-URL comparison fail in some circumstances. Is there a standard way to do something like this?
