• python-pam & pam_time module -- possible to check a user without password?

  I've looked at the example script of python-pam and linux pam pages, but it's a bit confusing, at least for a beginner in PAM (that I am): http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/libs/pam/Linux-PAM-html/Linux-PAM_ADG.html http://packages.ubuntu.com/python-pam Is it possible to check if a user has or does not have access to login, without entering password? I would like to create a script that root can use to check if a user is allowed or not to login to the system. If so, can someone post an example that checks if the user is allowed against pam_time? • "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ejb.EJBObject" when running JAR

  Hi, I'm getting a "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ejb.EJBObject" error when I'm running my application as a JAR file. When running it in Eclipse everything is working fine. The application properly access the main class and the main method. But when it tries to load the application context it cannot resolve a reference to an EJB bean. I then get the following error: Error creating bean with name 'bc' defined in class path resource [blabla.xml]: Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/ejb/EJBObject at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.BeanDefinitionValueResolver .resolveReference(BeanDefinitionValueResolver.java:275) ... Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.ejb.EJBObject I've included all runtime-scoped dependencies with Maven in the JAR file. Do you know any further information regarding this error?

  I'm working on an OSGi-based application that uses org.osgi.service.http.HttpService which does not support the use of Servlet Filters. Before I realised that I wouldn't be able to use Servlet Filters I was planning to apply a couple of existing Filters. These Filters set the appropriate HTTP headers to: prevent caching of responses control rendering in IE8 with the X-UA-Compatible header What are my options here? I don't want to use meta elements to control caching since that technique is unreliable. Using a meta element to set the X-UA-Compatible header is probably acceptable, but I'd still be interested in alternative approaches.

  I am trying to trying to export a client certificate for use with a web browser. The goal is to restrict access using the <Location directive to the admin area. I have seen numerous tutorials on using self signed CAs. How would you do this using a third party? 1) Do I need to include the CA in the client pfx if it is a trusted root CA? I have seen both examples. Without CA: openssl pkcs12 -export -inkey KEYFILENAME -in CERTFILEFILENAME -out XXX.pfx With CA: openssl pkcs12 -export -in my.crt- inkey my.key -certfile my.bundle -out my.pfx 2) Do I need to still include SSLCACertificateFile for trusted CA in the httpd.conf setup? I have implemented both of these suggested solutions: 1# Change SpinningWheelCSS 2# Change JQTouch CSS, JS files, and add JQTouch wrapper to body Neither worked for me. • Wrapping variable width text in emacs lisp

  I am hacking up a tagging application for emacs. I have got a tag cloud/weighted list successfully displaying on a buffer, but i am running into a snag. I need to be able to properly word-wrap the buffer, but I haven't a clue where to start. The font I am using is a variable width font. On top of that, each tag is going to be in a different size, depending on how many times it shows up on the buffer. Finally, the window that displays the tagcloud could be in a window that is 200 pixels wide, or the full screen width. I really have no idea where to start. • [Ruby] OpenSSL verify certificate from own CA

  Hello all and thanks for your time reading this. I need to verify certificates issued by my own CA, for which I have a certificate. How can I do the equivalent to openssl's openssl verify -CAfile in Ruby code? The RDoc for OpenSSL is not very helpful in this regard. I've tried: require 'openssl' ca = OpenSSL::X509::Certificate.new(File.read('ca-cert.pem')) lic = OpenSSL::X509::Certificate.new(File.read('cert.pem')) puts lic.verify( ca ) but I get: test.rb:7:in `verify': wrong argument (OpenSSL::X509::Certificate)! (Expected kind of OpenSSL::PKey::PKey) (TypeError) from test.rb:7 I can't even find "verify" in the OpenSSL Rdoc at http://www.ruby-doc.org/stdlib/libdoc/openssl/rdoc/index.html. • Netflix OData API iPhone: Accessing more than just the title

  Netflix just recently announced that they have a new OData API which gives developers access to more of their catalog and is exactly what I've been looking for. Also, on odata.org they have a sample iphone objective-c sdk that accesses the netflix odata api and displays a few movie titles in a tableview with a navigationcontroller. http://odataobjc.codeplex.com/ I'm just messing around right now and I would like to access more than just the catalog titles but I have no idea how to. Preferably, I would like to just push another view controller that will implement a page that can display the synopsis etc. Any suggestions on how to access the other data elements of a movie?   Is there any microsoft or even non-official documentation for SOS for Silverlight. Other than a few web posts I have seen zero documentation for it on MSDN. Even official documentation for the CLR version of SOS seems hard to find, this ancient article mentions a sos.htm file that is included in the windows SDK but it doesn't appear to be there any more. Any pointers to debugging Silveright with SOS?   I have been programming a little AHCI driver for two weeks. I have read this article and Intel's Serial ATA Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) 1.3. There is an example, which shows how to read sectors via DMA mode (osdev.org). I have done this operation (ATA_CMD_READ_DMA 0xC8) successfully, but when i tried to write sectors (ATA_CMD_WRITE_DMA 0xCA) to the device, the HBA set the error Offset 30h: PxSERR – Port x Serial ATA Error - Handshake Error (this is decoding from Intel AHCI specification). I don't understand why it happened. Please, help me. In addition, I have tried to issue the command IDENTIFY 0xEC, but not successfully...

In my controller's rss action, my last command is : render(text: getFeed("rss_2.0"), contentType:"application/rss+xml", encoding:"ISO-8859-1 ") However, when I navigate to my feed's URL, the header is : <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <rss xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" version="2.0"> ... In the current state, I am able to manually move the slider back and forth while download is progressing. How can I prevent the manual moving of progressbar, instead it works only based on progressbar.setProgress(progressbar.getProgress() + 1024); -- currently this works perfect, but I need to prevent the manual moving of progressbar during download. • TextMate can't find my RSpec gem in opt (from macports)

  I know I've had this problem before so I'm really frustrated. Why isn't it finding it? In Preferences Advanced Shell Variables my TM_RUBY is set to /opt/local/bin/ruby.   Can anyone please mention how to resume the sync command? I followed the following steps: $ repo init -u git://git.omapzoom.org/platform/omapmanifest.git -b eclair $ repo sync The sync took more than 6 hours and I had to terminate the sync myself due to shortgae of bandwidth. Is there any way I can resume the sync from the previous session? I can see that the following folders are created: bionic.git bootable build.git cts.git and many more.... I have access to free bandwidth only for 6 hours in a day, and I have to do the sync within this time. Any help is really appreciated.

• Error installing gst-python through Homebrew

  I'm trying to install gst-python and it errors with: brew install gst-python Warning: Your Xcode (4.2.1) is outdated Please install Xcode 4.5.2. ==> Downloading http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-python/gst-python-0.10. Already downloaded: /Library/Caches/Homebrew/gst-python-0.10.22.tar.bz2 ==> ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/Cellar/gst-python/0.10.22 configure: set WARNING_CFLAGS to -Wall -Wdeclaration-after-statement -Wpointer-arith configure: set ERROR_CFLAGS to checking for valgrind... no checking for libraries required to embed python... no configure: error: could not find Python lib This is all after I removed the default OSX python and re-installed it with Homebrew, I've edited /etc/paths and python is working well. I just can't install the package above (gst, pygtk is successfully installed). i was told that I need to install python-devel but I have no idea where from. I'm using OSX Lion 10.7.5 With Python 2.7.3

  In my Eclipse plugin I'd like to send a Java console output (loaded from some other system) to the Java Stack Trace Console. I pseudo-code it'd be something like: get the console output from the other system obtain a reference to a JavaStackTraceConsolePage instance send the text to the console page display the console i.e. switch from my plugin's view to the Console view Step 1 is easy as it is specific to my plugin. As for the rest I'm pretty much clueless - Google and stackoverflow.com don't come up with useful references or how-tos. Since the class JavaStackTraceConsolePage is part of an internal Eclipse API (org.eclipse.jdt.internal.debug.ui.console) I'm not even sure whether it's doable at all.

• Grails: Problem with nested associations in criteria builder

  I have a frustrating problem with the criteria builder. I have an application in which one user has one calendar, and a calendar has many entries. Seems straightforward enough, but when I try to get the calendar entries for a given user, I can't access the user property (MissingMethodException). Here's the code: def getEntries(User user) { def entries = Entries.createCriteria().list() { calendar { user { eq("user.id", user.id) } } } } I have even tried the following variation: def getEntries(User user) { def entries = Entries.createCriteria().list() { calendar { eq("user", user) } } } That did not raise an exception, but didn't work either. Here's the relevant parts of the domain classes: class Calendar { static belongsTo = [user: User] static hasMany = [entries: Entries] ... } class User { Calendar calendar ... } class Entry { static belongsTo = [calendar: Calendar] ... } When Googling I came across a similar problem noted in early 2008: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GRAILS-1412 But according to that link this issue should have been solved long ago. What am I doing wrong?

  Hey, I have a ruby file as follows: module Example class Myclass def t_st "Hello World!" end end end now if this was just a class I would be able to use the following java code: ScriptEngine jruby = new ScriptEngineManager().getEngineByName("jruby"); jruby.eval(new BufferedReader(new FileReader("example.rb"))); Object example = jruby.eval("myclass.new"); However, this class rests inside a module. Calling the same code as above produces the error: Exception in thread "main" org.jruby.embed.EvalFailedException: uninitialized constant myclass In addition, calling: Object example = jruby.eval("Example"); The module returns no error. So one would assume this follows the format for Ruby. Object example = jruby.eval("Example::myclass.new"); Again however, I get the same error as before. Can anyone help? As there is little documentation on JRuby? Thanks

  I downloaded the latest version of Boost and I'm trying to get the Boost.python tutorial up and running on Ubuntu 10.04: http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_43_0/libs/python/doc/tutorial/doc/html/python/hello.html I navigated to the correct directory, ran "bjam" and it compiled using default settings. I did not yet create a bjam config file. The compilation appears to have worked, but now I have no idea how to include the files in my python script. When I try to run the python hello world script, it gives me this error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "./hello.py", line 6, in <module> import hello_ext ImportError: libboost_python.so.1.43.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Anyone know what is going on?

• Install a vimball from the command line.

  As this post points out you can install Vimballs using the normal: vim somevimball.vba :so % :q But if you want to install a from the command line how do you do it? I ran a 'man vim' and it seems like the best "from source install" option was the '-S' option so I tried to install haskellmode with it: wget 'http://projects.haskell.org/haskellmode-vim/vimfiles/haskellmode-20090430.vba' vim -S haskellmode-20090430.vba and that failed to work. It gave me the following error: Error detected while processing function vimball#Vimball: line 10: (Vimball) The current file does not appear to be a Vimball! press ENTER or type command to continue It should be noted that using the first method I was able to successfully install the vimball. I have tried the second method on a few other vimballs and it has failed every time. Is there a way to install a vimball from the command line? It seems like a useful sort of task. Oh, and I am running the following version of vim: Version: 2:7.2.330-1ubuntu3 Thanks.
