  • Inline Zend Navigation links in view content saved to db

    I'm storing the page content in the database (both as markup and HTML code) and displaying this content in the view (let's say it's CMS or forum post). The this data have also some links to internal pages existing in sitemap (Zend_Navigation object). It's easy to insert the link in page body just by using <a> tag. But the contents of this inline links does not change when I update the sorce XML for Zend Navigation (url's, attributes, ACL permissions). How do you handle this case? Special markup for the link, converting the link using url view helper? Iterate Zend_Navigation object extracting specific link (one by one)?

    Hi guys. I think it's kinda easy one but still I'm new to android programming so please have patience. I want to know how can I get the number of records (rows) in a specific table in my db. I need this so I can create a loop to go through every record and add each one of it to the specific Array and display it later on.   • SQL server db and printing confusion.

    I have billing application based on C# WPF, Screenshot is here. as you can see there is a datagrid, programmatically binded. this datagrid contains lists of item going to be billed. So when user reaches "Print memo" part (in stack panel 2) i have to update listed items in stock table and insert entries in sales table and finally print the memo. I want to know is there any speedy way to so because as user gives print command I have to clear datagrid which holds product lists and start accepting new lists. if you could provide few code or link, will be really helpful.. thanks.........

    I have a TimeSheet table as: CREATE TABLE TimeSheet ( timeSheetID employeeID setDate timeIn outToLunch returnFromLunch timeOut ); Employee will set his/her time sheet daily, i want to ensure that he/she doesn't cheat. What should i do? Should i create a column that gets date/time of the system when insertion/update happens to the table and then compare the created date/time with the time employee's specified - If so in this case i will have to create date/time column for timeIn, outToLunch, returnFromLunch and timeOut. I don't know, what do you suggest? Note: i'm concerned about tracking these 4 columns timeIn, outToLunch, returnFromLunch and timeOut

  • When would isSearchable return false for an Oracle JDBC column?

    In what cases would a call to java.sql.ResultSetMetaData.isSearchable(int col) return false for an Oracle database? The documentation for the method doesn't really answer the question: "Indicates whether the designated column can be used in a where clause." I can think of only one case - when the column is the result of an aggregate function (in which case it would have to be part of a HAVING filter, not a WHERE filter). Are there any other cases?

  • Storing records in a dropdownlist from DB without using LINQ Data source

    I have a website for dance academy where Users can register and add/drop dance classes. In the web page to drop a particular dance, for a particular user, the dropdown displays her registered dances. Now I want to delete one of the dances from the list. So i'll remove the row from the table and also from the dropdownlist. The problem is that everytime the item with the lowest ID (index) is getting deleted, no matter which one the user selects. I think I am storing the DataTextField and DataValueField for the dropdown incorrectly. Can someone please help me out?     We have following type of "Unique ID" column for many tables in the database (Oracle). It is a string with following format <randomnumber>-<ascendingnumber>-<machinename> So we have some thing like this U1234-12345-NBBJD U1234-12346-NBBJD U1234-12347-NBBJD U1234-12348-NBBJD U1234-12349-NBBJD The UID value is unique, we have unique index on them. I've some 1:1 comparisons for sqlite, Firebird Embedded, Derby and HSQLDB (others I am missing?) but no across the board comparisons... Also, I'd be interested in the overall developer experience for any of these (for a Java app).

  • Large strings: Text files or SQL DB?

    I am coding a forum system using PHP. I am currently storing a threads ID, title, author, views and other attributes in an SQL database and then storing the thread body (the HTML and BBcode) in text files inside a folder named after the thread ID. In practise it's really simple to grab the database values then just grab the thread body from the text file, but I was wondering if this is the 'proper way'? I have personally no problems doing this but if it turns out it is massively inefficient and I should instead store both the thread body HTML and BBcode in the database instead then I will change. However, to me it seems wrong to store such a (very possibly) huge string of multi-line text along with lots of different characters in a database - I was taught that databases are more for short field 'values' rather than website content. I would just like a definitive answer to this because it's been bugging me for ages as to wherever I’ve been doing it properly. Does anyone know how popular forum systems store threads?

I used this syntax to call home page in another application but to no avail f?p=4000:4150:&APP_SESSION. Where 4000:4150 are the values for the application and the page I want to display.     We have a table called worktable which has some columns(key(primary key), ptime, aname, status, content) we have something called producer which puts in rows in this table and we have consumer which does an order-by on the key column and fetches the first row which has status as 'pending'. The consumer does some processing on this row: 1. updates status to "processing" 2. does some processing using content 3. deletes the row we are facing contention issues when we try to run multiple consumers(probably due to the order-by which does a full table scan)... using Advanced queues would be our next step but before we go there we want to check what is the max throughput we can achieve with multiple consumers and producer on the table. What are the optimizations we can do to get the best numbers possible? Can we do an in-memory processing where a consumer fetches 1000 rows at a time processes and deletes? will that improve? What are other possibilities? partitioning of table? parallelization? Index organized tables?...

  • LINQ to SQL DB Connections not closing

    I am using LINQ to SQL in an asp.net mvc application. I am calling stored procedures via ajax calls. The active connections for 2-3 users goes to 100 active connections. and then server timeouts happen. I then used IOC -autofac to resuse the same repository that has a datacontext. now tho i get an active connection on the SQL server per loggedin user plus one. I have never seen this before. Why wouldnt Lin2sql not drop a connection when not in use? would calling a stored procedure in an ajax call in a loggedin session creat an a new active connection? Could a Stored Procedure with loops and or a waitfor hold open a connection??
