• [Django] How do I filter the choices in a ModelForm that has a CharField with the choices attribute

  I understand I am able to filter queryset of Foreignkey or Many2ManyFields, however, how do I do that for a simple CharField that is a Select Widget (Select Tag). For example: PRODUCT_STATUS = ( ("unapproved", "Unapproved"), ("approved", "Listed"), #("Backorder","Backorder"), #("oos","Out of Stock"), #("preorder","Preorder"), ("userdisabled", "User Disabled"), ("disapproved", "Disapproved by admin"), ) and the Field: o_status = models.CharField(max_length=100, choices=PRODUCT_STATUS, verbose_name="Product Status", default="approved") Suppose I wish to limit it to just "approved" and "userdisabled" instead showing the full array (which is what I want to show in the admin), how do I do it? • What's the best way to return something like a collection of `std::auto_ptr`s in C++03?

  std::auto_ptr is not allowed to be stored in an STL container, such as std::vector. However, occasionally there are cases where I need to return a collection of polymorphic objects, and therefore I can't return a vector of objects (due to the slicing problem). I can use std::tr1::shared_ptr and stick those in the vector, but then I have to pay a high price of maintaining separate reference counts, and object that owns the actual memory (the container) no longer logically "owns" the objects because they can be copied out of it without regard to ownership. C++0x offers a perfect solution to this problem in the form of std::vector<std::unique_ptr<t>>, but I don't have access to C++0x. Some other notes: I don't have access to C++0x, but I do have TR1 available. I would like to avoid use of Boost (though it is available if there is no other option) I am aware of boost::ptr_container containers (i.e. boost::ptr_vector), but I would like to avoid this because it breaks the debugger (innards are stored in void *s which means it's difficult to view the object actually stored inside the container in the debugger)

• Deleting document attachments in CouchDb

  In CouchDb's documentation, the described method of deleting document attachments is to send a DELETE call to the attachment's url. However, I have noticed that if you edit the document and remove the attachment stub from the _attachment field, it will not be accessible anymore. If i remove foo.txt from the document below and save to CouchDb it will be gone the next time I access the document: { "_id":"attachment_doc", "_rev":1589456116, "_attachments": { "foo.txt": { "stub":true, "content_type":"text/plain", "length":29 } } } Is the attachment actually deleted on disk or is just the reference to it deleted?

  I'm trying to iterate a bunch of SELECT OPTION html drop-down fields and from the ones that are NOT empty, take the values and add a hidden field for a PAYPAL shopping cart. My problem is that for some reason, the variable "curitem" is not passed inside the each function and I can't add the hidden field like they should. All I get is "NaN" or "undefined". What PAYPAL expect is : item_name_1, item_name_2, etc. All numbers must iterate by +1. How can I do this? However it is linking to my other table fine and it's cascading fine.   I am trying to deserialize a field: "presenters":[{...},{...}] but some of the rows come back with only: "presenters":"" When the serializer gets to the row with that empty string I get: Error converting value "" to type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[DataPrototype.Model.Presenter]'. Am I right in thinking that I need a JsonConverter that will change the empty string into an empty List?

Inside the function, the current page "index" is retrieved from a hidden field and passed to the controller. Inside the controller, I reset the index if I'm on the last page of data. I would like to have a simple share button on the final activity so they can share the results (or even a simple text field) with apps that accept it (email, mms, twitter, etc..). I was originally using scriptaculous effect.move to do this, but I couldn't make the event only fire once, so if someone kept typing after the first keystroke, the effect would stop and start again from it's current position in the animation for each additional keystroke, which is stupid. I'm new to new to using jquery so please, take it easy if I'm not making very much sense.

• Sphinx search: failed to unpack mysqlcompress column

  I have compiled sphinx 0.9.9 for debian x64. When I try to index using unpack_mysqlcompress, I get this error: "WARNING: failed to unpack column 'page_text', error=-5" The 'page_text' field is around 5Kb, and unpack_mysqlcompress_maxsize is set to 64M, yet the zlib manual says error -5 indicates Z_BUF_ERROR. Also if mysql does the decompression using UNCOMPRESS(), it works fine. Any ideas why sphinx is generating this error?
