• How to determine errors in java

  I'm just a java beginner. Do you have any tips there on how to determine errors. I'm trying to connect to mysql derby database. I don't know how to determine the error, there is no red line, but there is a message box that shows up when I try to run the program. All I want to do is to display the first record in the database. When I use multi_subst as start rule both files (f1 and f2) are parsed correctly; When I use machine_subst as start rule file f1 parse correctly, while file f2 fails, producing the error: “Parsing failed stopped at: || newDebt := loanammount-paidammount || price := purchasePrice + overhead + bb” When I use predicate as start symbol, file f3 parse correctly, but file f4 yields the error: “ “Parsing failed stopped at: & yy : NAT” Can anyone help with the grammar, please? It appears there are problems with the grammar that I have so far been unable to spot.

  I call a method to get my pages [see GetPages(String xmlFullFilePath)]. The FromXElement method is supposed to deserialise the LitePropertyData elements to strongly type LitePropertyData objects. Instead it fails on the following line: return (T)xmlSerializer.Deserialize(memoryStream); and gives the following error: <LitePropertyData xmlns=''> was not expected. What am I doing wrong?   Hi I'm using JNI to access the exiv2 library (written in C++) in Java and I'm getting a weird runtime error in the JNI code. I've tried using various -Xms and -Xmx options, but that seems to have no affect. • IIS 7 doesn't do a 301 redirect

  Hi there! I have just migrated some sites to IIS7 from IIS6, and am experiencing problems with one of the sites. When a request comes in for the site (www.ourdomain.com/site1/) with a trailing slash everything is fine. But if the trailing slash is left out (www.ourdomain.com/site1), then the request fails. Apparently it doesn't do a 301 redirect on the slashl-less URL, resulting in ASP.NET throwing an exception. This is not happening with the other sites at the same domain.   I have a .net4 web application running in a 64 bits 2008 server. I can only get it to run when I set the app pool to Enable 32-bits application to true. • A way for a file to have its own MD5 inside? Or a string that is it's own MD5?

  Hi all, In considering several possible solutions to a recent task, I found myself considering how to get a php file that includes it's own MD5 hash. I ended up doing something else, but the question stayed with me. Something along the lines of: <?php echo("Hello, my MD5 is [MD5 OF THIS FILE HERE]"); ?> Whatever placeholder you have in the file, the second you take its MD5 and insert it, you've changed it, which changes it's MD5, etc. Edit: Perhaps I should rephrase my question: Does anyone know if it has been proven impossible, or if there has been any research on an algorithm that would result in a file containing it's own MD5 (or other hash)? I suppose if the MD5 was the only content in the file, then the problem can be restated as how to find a string that is it's own MD5. It may well be impossible for us to create a process that will result in such a thing, but I can't think of any reason the solution itself can't exist. The question is basically whether it really is impossible, simply improbable (on the order of monkeys randomly typing Shakespeare), or actually solvable by somebody smarter than myself.

• MVC2 EditorTemplate for DropDownList

  I've spent the majority of the past week knee deep in the new templating functionality baked into MVC2. I had a hard time trying to get a DropDownList template working. The biggest problem I've been working to solve is how to get the source data for the drop down list to the template. I saw a lot of examples where you can put the source data in the ViewData dictionary (ViewData["DropDownSourceValuesKey"]) then retrieve them in the template itself (var sourceValues = ViewData["DropDownSourceValuesKey"];) This works, but I did not like having a silly string as the lynch pin for making this work. Below is an approach I've come up with and wanted to get opinions on this approach: here are my design goals: The view model should contain the source data for the drop down list Limit Silly Strings Not use ViewData dictionary Controller is responsible for filling the property with the source data for the drop down list Here's my View Model: public class CustomerViewModel { [ScaffoldColumn(false)] public String CustomerCode{ get; set; } [UIHint("DropDownList")] [DropDownList(DropDownListTargetProperty = "CustomerCode"] [DisplayName("Customer Code")] public IEnumerable<SelectListItem> CustomerCodeList { get; set; } public String FirstName { get; set; } public String LastName { get; set; } public String PhoneNumber { get; set; } public String Address1 { get; set; } public String Address2 { get; set; } public String City { get; set; } public String State { get; set; } public String Zip { get; set; } } My View Model has a CustomerCode property which is a value that the user selects from a list of values. I have a CustomerCodeList property that is a list of possible CustomerCode values and is the source for a drop down list. I've created a DropDownList attribute with a DropDownListTargetProperty. DropDownListTargetProperty points to the property which will be populated based on the user selection from the generated drop down (in this case, the CustomerCode property). Notice that the CustomerCode property has [ScaffoldColumn(false)] which forces the generator to skip the field in the generated output. My DropDownList.ascx file will generate a dropdown list form element with the source data from the CustomerCodeList property. The generated dropdown list will use the value of the DropDownListTargetProperty from the DropDownList attribute as the Id and the Name attributes of the Select form element. So the generated code will look like this: <select id="CustomerCode" name="CustomerCode"> <option>... </select> This works out great because when the form is submitted, MVC will populate the target property with the selected value from the drop down list because the name of the generated dropdown list IS the target property. I kinda visualize it as the CustomerCodeList property is an extension of sorts of the CustomerCode property. I've coupled the source data to the property.
