• Using "null" in jQuery functions. Is this okay?

  My database consists of some entries which are NULL (so they don't affect max, min, etc..). When I pull all of the data from the database, I need to repopulate form fields with the values. Using .val(value) where value = NULL seems to work without any problems, but I'm not sure if this is a valid way to go about this. It doesn't say anything in the jQuery documentation (that I can find) about using NULL as parameters to functions.

  I was psyched about the possibility of using SQLite as a database solution during development so that I could focus on writing the code first and dynamically generating the db at runtime using NHibernate's ShemaExport functionality. However, I'm running into a few issues, not the least of which is that it seems that SQLite requires me to use Int64 for my primary keys (vs, say, Int32 or Guid). Is there any way around this?

Example: There is an input box, after submitted the stuff that was written in the input box will be saved to a text file. Later on the results need to be brought back as a variable. I want to be able to say how many users have submitted side=true arguments. I mean if 1 user had 10 arguments and another user had 2 arguments (both side=true) I'd want the count to be 2, not 12.

  Say I have a dataframe df with two or more columns, is there an easy way to use unique() or other R function to create a subset of unique combinations of two or more columns? I know I can use sqldf() and write an easy "SELECT DISTINCT var1, var2, ... varN" query, but I am looking for an R way of doing this. It occurred to me to try ftable coerced to a dataframe and use the field names, but I also get the cross tabulations of combinations that don't exist in the dataset: uniques <- as.data.frame(ftable(df$var1, df$var2))

I'm using zsh, but an answer that is shell independent would be great. But sometimes, especially with comments and concatenated string snippets (like inline SQL queries), the cleanup just messes things up, and destroys my formatting.
