  • How to assign a numbering scheme to TreeNodes based on position

    I have a TreeView control in a Windows Forms application that is displaying my own subclass of TreeNode. I need to display a number along with each node's text indicating its position in the tree, like 1 for the root, 1.1 for its first child, 1.2 for its second child, etc. I'm using C# with .NET 2.0 The best that I can come up with is, after the tree is built, go to each node, recursively find the parent and append the parent's sibling number to the front of the node's text until you reach the root.

  • Windows batch/script code to conditionally process based on date value in text file

    I am using Windows XP. The code can be used in a batch file or vbs script. I intend to use Windows scheduler to run the program. I need code to read a date from a text file (could be the only line in the text file or the date could be included in the filename, I control the process that generates the file) The code would then need to evaluate the text file date against the current date to confirm that the text file date is from the prior month. I'm starting to build a process to be able to run 1st-of-the-month jobs once the monthly data has been refreshed. I'm new to building this kind of process using batch/script files.     I have been reading about app engine but I still dont know what I can and cant do with it in a android application. Basically what I want to do is be able to create/manage a database in the cloud that the app can pull down and update the local database if needed. Creation and managing would be done outside of the app by me. I dont know much about all of this as I am just getting started with it but I already have an application made, I just want to add this feature to it. I have never written any sort of Web Service calls or anything either but I have used them to get data and such Can this be done? Any tutorials out there to help me out?

    I'm trying to find a way to synchronize multiple threads having the following conditions: * There are two types of threads: 1. A single "cyclic" thread executing an infinite loop to do cyclic calculations 2. I can't figure out a simple way of doing what I'm after, and almost everything that I've found after a lengthy search is related to producer/consumer synchronization which I can't apply here.

  • Windows service thread not updating database until complete

    I have a windows service with a FileSystemWatcher. When a new file is dropped in my folder a new thread is created, started, and I begin processing the file. Throughout this process I am making updates to the database (Linq to SQL) to keep track of the file's processing progress. Problem is none of my database updates are reflected throughout the process, just an update after everything has been completed. Any ideas? Note: when doing dev/testing my code was in an aspx page and worked great, but when I put it in a windows service I no longer get the progress updates. Thanks!

  • serving cached files based upon cookie?

    So I realized something today. In my application, you really can't get anywhere (except the front page) unless you're logged in. And you can't be logged in without a cookie. So my front page could be cached, except the problem is if you are logged in (have a cookie set) then it should just redirect into the application. Is there a way for nginx to look for a cookie and if it finds it then deliver a cached file? Just an idea...

    I've got an NSMutableArray filled with objects of type "GameObject". GameObject has a number of properties, one of which being "gameObjectType" . "gameObjectType" is of type GameObjectTypeEnum. I want to be able to filter this NSMutableArray so only GameObjects of a certain type are returned. I've got the following in place, but it's giving me a "BAD ACCESS" error: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"gameObjectType = %@", gameObjectType]; return [gameObjects filteredArrayUsingPredicate:predicate]; Is it possible to pass a "custom" type (ie, this enum I've defined) into the predicateWithFormat call?

  • Storing PDFs in MS Access Database using Forms

    I need to store PDF files in an Access database on a shared drive using a form. I figured out how to do this in tables (using the OLE Object field, then just drag-and-drop) but I would like to do this on a Form that has a Save button. Clicking the save button would store the file (not just a link) in the database. Any ideas on how to do this? EDIT: I am using Access 2003, and the DB will be stored on a share drive, so I'm not sure linking to the files will solve the problem.

  • Defining Views Based On Selection

    Well the title isn't very descriptive but I'm not exactly sure how to explain but here goes! I have a web application (can use either MVC or standard web forms) which a user signs in to. If the user has signed up for more than one product they will have the option to switch between them. For the sakes of this example lets say User1 signs in and has access to Product1, Product2 and Product3. Now, each product will be very different and offer different functionally. What I want is the main view to be focused around the product they have selected and not redirected to a sub domain. What I don't want to have to do is get them to go to www.mysite.com/product1 or www.mysite.com/product2 but simply www.mysite.com regardless of the product they have selected and have the site render the views etc for that product. Wow does any of that make any sense? I was thinking mabe the use of sessions or something and URL rewriting? Are there any sample apps out there that make use of the same kind of functionallity that I could take a look at? Thanks for any help I appreciate it!

    Hey All, I'm new to JSF and am trying to make a content controller. Basically whenever someone makes a request to www.myapp.com/external/** I'd like to forward to a controller that pulls external content into a page template and spits it out to the user. I was able to achive this pretty easily in Spring 3, but I'm a little confused on where to start with JSF. I feel like I'd need to create a custom servlet to handle /external/**? But what would the class of this servlet be? What would it consist of? Any help is appreciated!

  • Unable to use getInt() but able to use getString() for a sqlite database

    I am using a cursor to access a sqlite database I have in my app. I am having trouble using the .getInt() on my database. My database is pre-created, and I have a few cursors that perform queries to interface with the information. Several of the columns in one of the tables are set as INTEGER type. I realize that sqlite has no built in check to make sure columns are indeed INT. However, when retrieving the data, I can use the .getString() function without any issues, but calling .getInt() causes the app to crash. Below is the relevant code. If I am missing anything, please let me know, and I'll add it in. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.   • Call function based off of a string in Lisp

    I am passing in command line arguments to my Lisp program and they are formatted like this when they hit my main function: ("1 1 1" "dot" "2 2 2") I have a dot function and would like to call it directly from the argument, but this isn't possible because something like (funcall (second args)...) receives "dot" and not dot as the function name. I tried variations of this function: (defun remove-quotes (s) (setf (aref s 0) '"")) to no avail, before realizing that the quotes were not really a part of the string. Is there a simple way to do this, or should I just check each string and then call the appropriate function? Thanks!

  • Dynamic Views based on view models

    I have an asp.net mvc 2 app. I need to display the same page to each user. But each user has different rights to the data. IE some can see but not edit some data, some cannot edit nor see the data. Ideally data that cannot be seen nor edited is whitespace on the view. For security reasons I want my viewmodels to be sparse as possible. By that I mean if a field cannot be seen nor edited , that field should not be on the viewmodel. Obviously I can write view for each view model but that seems wasteful. So here is my idea/wishlist Can I decorate the viewmodel with attributes and hook into a pre render event of the html helpers and tell it to do &nbsp; instead??? Can I have the html helpers output &nbsp; for entries not found on the viewmodel?? or can I easily convert a view built into code then programaticlly build the markup and then put into the render engine to be processed and viewd as html on client side??

    Hi everyone, I need to retrieve data (vehicle details, in this case) from a MySQL table tabled and then loop through the results to generate separate lists for each category of vehicle. Is there a simple way to do this without having to have a SELECT statement for each type of vehicle?
