    Let say I have written a small program that reads file_A and file_B as input data of test_case_A and test_case_B, passes the input to component_X which needs to be test, then verifies result against predefined expectation. That component_X could be in the same process, or different process on another machine. I try to learn more about testing, but confused by various terms. Take above scenario as example, which of them is fixture/mock/harness/stub? Thanks.

  • iOs receivedData from NSURLConnection is nil

    I was wondering if anyone could point out why I'm not able to capture a web reply. My NSLog shows that my [NSMutableData receivedData] has a length of 0 the entire run of the connection. The script that I hit when I click my login button returns a string. My NSLog result is pasted below, and after that I've pasted both the .h and .m files that I have. (Also, the - are actually - "& g t ;" (without spaces)). However, on IE the div stays stuck on "Searching..." and the hidden input value stays blank. I've tried both .get and .post and neither work. I'm sure it's failing on the .get because if I try this, I don't even get the alert: $.get("/ajax/ldap_search.php", {cn: $("#username").val()}, function() { alert("Check"); }); Also, IE doesn't give me any script errors. Edit: Added "$(document).ready(function() {", the .blur was already in it in my code, but I forgot to include that in my post.   • When would isSearchable return false for an Oracle JDBC column?

    In what cases would a call to java.sql.ResultSetMetaData.isSearchable(int col) return false for an Oracle database? The documentation for the method doesn't really answer the question: "Indicates whether the designated column can be used in a where clause." I can think of only one case - when the column is the result of an aggregate function (in which case it would have to be part of a HAVING filter, not a WHERE filter). Are there any other cases?

  • Attribute vector emptying itself

    Hello, I have two classes, derived from a common class. The common class has a pure virtual function called execute(), which is implemented in both derived classes. In the inherited class I have an attribute which is a vector. In both execute() methods I overwrite this vector with a result. I access both classes from a vector of pointers to their objects. The problem is when I try to access the result vector form outside the objects. In one case I can get the elements (which are simply pointers), in the other I cannot, the vector is empty. Code: class E; class A{ protected: vector<E*> _result; public: virtual void execute()=0; vector<E*> get_result(); }; vector<E*> A::get_result() { return _result; } class B : public A { public: virtual void execute(); }; B::execute() { //... _result = tempVec; return; } class C : public A { public: virtual void execute(); }; C::execute() { //different stuff to B _result = tempvec; return; } main() { B* b = new B(); C* c = new C(); b->execute(); c->execute(); b->get_result();//returns full vector c->get_result(); //returns empty vector!! } I have no idea what is going on here... I have tried filling _result by hand from a temp vector in the offending class, doing the same with vector::assign(), nothing works. And the other object works perfectly. I must be missing something.... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The following Spotlight query, correctly returns all archive and ISO files on my system: kind:iso OR kind:archive However, Spotlight treats .bin files as archives too and returns .bin files in the results as well.     Right, so when I set up my mock using the testing plugin's mockFor method, I expect a method that returns null. If I do myControl.demand.theMethod {return null} in the debugger, the value that I set the 'theMethod' call result to is some closure in the debugger. If I do myControl.demand.theMethod {->return null} the value is null, as expected. I dont understand the difference....
