• FileNotFoundException when cropping a photo

  I'm trying to crop a photo to use in a Live Wallpaper but I'm getting a FileNotFoundException when the crop activity tries to save my new cropped image. • Where to include business logic in a domain driven architecture

  I'm trying to learn effective DDD practices as I go, but had a fundamental question I wanted to get some clarity on. I am using ASP.NET WebForms and I am creating a situation where a user places an order. Upon order submission, the code-behind retrieves the user, builds the order from the inputs on the form, calls the User.PlaceOrder() method to perform add the order object to the user's order collection, and calls the repository to save the record to the database. That is fairly simply and straightforward. Now I need to add logic to send an order confirmation email, and I'm not really sure the proper place to put this code or where to call it. In the olden days I would simply put that code in the code-behind and call it at the same time I was building the order, but I want to get a step closer to solid proper architecture so I wanted to get some information. • Rails - Paperclip, getting width and height of image in model

  Trying to get the width and height of the uploaded image while still in the model on the initial save. Any way to do this? Here's the snippet of code I've been testing with from my model. Of course it fails on "instance.photo_width". has_attached_file :photo, :styles => { :original => "634x471>", :thumb => Proc.new { |instance| ratio = instance.photo_width/instance.photo_height min_width = 142 min_height = 119 if ratio > 1 final_height = min_height final_width = final_height * ratio else final_width = min_width final_height = final_width * ratio end "#{final_width}x#{final_height}" } }, :storage => :s3, :s3_credentials => "#{RAILS_ROOT}/config/s3.yml", :path => ":attachment/:id/:style.:extension", :bucket => 'foo_bucket' So I'm basically trying to do this to get a custom thumbnail width and height based on the initial image dimensions.   Hello, I have a "database solution" project in VS2008 - it generates SQL for more than one DB vendor from some sort of templates. In order to save time, I also have a tool in VS2008 configured (a Python script), which can compile an individual stored procedure. Now, with the Python script I have the freedom of processing the output and have it take on whatever form I want. I am toying with an idea of having these errors and warnings somehow recognized and populating the click-able Error / Warning list. This is what a typical Oracle error looks like: LINE/COL ERROR -------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- 324/5 PL/SQL: Statement ignored 324/82 PLS-00363: expression 'VSOURCE_SYSTEM_ID' cannot be used as an assignment target Warning: Procedure created with compilation errors. This seems to contradict the Django documentation: Field.default The default value for the field. This can be a value or a callable object. If callable it will be called every time a new object is created. Am I doing something wrong? Update: Originally, I had this, but then I switched to the above version to debug: _applies_to = models.TextField(db_index=True, default=cPickle.dumps(set())) I'm not sure why that wouldn't work.

  Hello developers Is there any way you can store the UI state to disk when a WPF form has been minimised. I have a complex GUI with few Tab Controls and it consumes quite a bit of memory which is kept allocated when the application is not active. I was hoping one of you may have got this working along the lines (or similar) Application Active User does work, plays with UI - enters some information in the text boxes and moves around the tabs User minimises the form to work with other applications On Minimise, Save the current state to the disk and dispose the root tabcontrol On Activiate, build the root tabcontrol from the disk and add to the controls collection Before I divein to do this, I thought it will help me if I ask this question here. • Simplest way to create a wrapper class around some strings for a WPF DataGrid?

  I'm building a simple hex editor in C#, and I've decided to use each cell in a DataGrid to display a byte*. I know that DataGrid will take a list and display each object in the list as a row, and each of that object's properties as columns. I want to display rows of 16 bytes each, which will require a wrapper with 16 string properties. While doable, it's not the most elegant solution. Is there an easier way? I've already tried creating a wrapper around a public string array of size 16, but that doesn't seem to work. Thanks *The rational for this is that I can have spaces between each byte without having to strip them all out when I want to save my edited file. Also it seems like it'll be easier to label the rows and columns.

The server will run a very minimal version of Ubuntu server LTS (only LAMP and email server no GUI).   We use Visual Studio 2005 here, and in an attempt to improve the documentation of our source, we're looking for a Visual Studio add-in that will allow images to be viewed in line with source from within the IDE. For example, the use case I'd like to fit is the following: In the directory in which my source lives, I save my image file my_image.png. In the source file, I write a comment of the form /// @image my_image.png The add-in allows me to toggle between seeing the text /// @image my_image.png and viewing the actual image within the code editing window, inline with whatever source surrounds it. Does anyone know of an existing add-in for VS 2005? If not, does the VS add-in api allow for such functionality? Thanks!

• Rotate view of PDF on a WinForm

  I have to display a PDF inside a winform (c# on .net 2.0 framework). For now, I am using the ActiveX PDF control provided by Adobe. I have to disable the entire control so that a user can't print or save via right-click or hotkeys. Unfortunately, many of the documents need to be rotated (just viewed, not permanently saved that way). I'd like to allow them to rotate the view by pressing a button control. I've tried enabling the control then programmatically sending the hotkeys (ctrl shift +) using SendKeys and SendInput but the timing issues make this a non-viable solution. I've asked on the proper Adobe boards and they said it was not possible being that all of my clients will only have the reader version installed.

  I am trying to add an entity to the DB. Once I have added it, I want to detach it, so I can manipulate the object safely without making any changes to the DB. After calling context.SaveChanges() I do the following to detach the entity: // save context.Stories.Add(story); // attach tags. They already exists in the database foreach(var tag in story.Tags) context.Entry(tag).State = System.Data.EntityState.Unchanged; context.SaveChanges(); context.Entry(story).State = System.Data.EntityState.Detached; However, changing the entity state to DETACHED will remove all related entities associated with the my entity. Is there a way to stop this ? If I don't detach the entity, all my changes are sent to the DB next time I call context.SaveChanges() Thanks!!

• Removing an object in a child collection in MongoDB

  I've got a collection of content. Said collection has a collection of responses as such Content : [{ 'id' : '1234', 'Responses' : [{ 'id' : '12345' } etc. Now, I want to remove response 12345, but I don't want to remove all of the responses. I can't seem to find the command to do so. I'm getting the impression that the correct action is to grab the object, rebuild the Responses without the one I want removed, and then save the Content object as a whole. Provided there are many responses, this seems like a bad practice to have to load the entire object that way.

• How easy would it be to refactor a small JSP/Servlet/JDBC project to SpringMVC/Hibernate

  With reference to this post, I am considering starting a new web-based Java project. Since I don't know Spring/Hibernate I was concerned if it's a bad plan to start learning them while creating a new project, especially since it will slow down the early development. One idea I had was to write a prototype using tech I do know, namely JSP/Servlets/JDBC, since I can get this running much quicker with my current knowledge. I could then throw the whole thing away and start over with Spring, etc, but I'd like to consider how easy it would be to refactor a smallish project from JSP/Servlets/JDB to SpringMVC/Hibernate? My DB could of course be re-used but what about other code... would I expect to save most of it plugged into an MVC framework, or is the paradigm shift big enough this would cause more trouble than it avoids? Firefox prompt user user to save or open the file and if the user clicks open the correct application launches so I believe I have mimeType.rdf configured correctly I've gone into about:config and set browser.helperApps.neverAsk.openFile to application/x-optibase and browser.helpApps.alwaysAsk.force to false According to the minimal documentation out there this should enable the application to automatically open when the user downloads the file but it doesn't seem to work. However, it is not being unset when checkbox is unchecked (I'm guessing due to checkbox input not being 'post'-ed if unchecked. What is the best way to uncheck this? Should I add a default value of 0? Or unset/delete the attribute before save in the controller? Should I add get/set methods to the model?
