• Code Igniter - URL Rewrite

  Hey, i'm trying to get a project to work, but i am having trouble with the rewrite module. I'm running Wamp over Windows XP. I changed httpd.conf to change the root of localhost to: DocumentRoot "C:/wamp/www/project/docroot/" I have htaccess RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / my Apache has the rewrite module Activated. my base_url() in config.php is 'http://localhost/' in routes.php i have: $route['default_controller'] = "home"; $route['our-recipes'] = "recipes"; and more pairs when i point the browser to http://localhost/ i get the homepage of my site, but when i click on any internal link like to 'our-recipes' it loads but i get the same homepage, with the new url on the location bar. if i try to access 'http://localhost/recipes' i get the same result. this is my folder structure: Can anyone please solve this for me??

• Constructor type not found

  Hello, What I am doing: I am taking the Microsoft Enterprise Library 4.1 and attempting to expand upon it using a few derived classes. I have created a MyLogEntry, MyFormatter, and MyTraceListener which derive from their respective base classes when you remove the "My" from their names. What my problem is: Everything compiles fine. When I go to run a test using Logger.Write(logEntry) it errors right after it initializes MyTraceListener with an error message: "The current build operation (... EnterpriseLibrary.Logging.LogWriter, null]) failed: Constructor on type 'MyLogging.MyFormatter' not found. (Strategy type ConfiguredObjectStrategy, index 2) I figured it was something to do with the constructor so I tried removing it, add it, and adding a call to the base class LogFormatter. Nothing has worked. Does anyone have insight into this problem? Is it maybe a reference issue? Bad App.config configuration? Thank you in advance

• htaccess rewriterule with order in url

  I'm trying to put together a rewrite rule for an Apache server. It should take 'order/###' and change it to 'order.php?id=###'. For some reason it's rewriting as 'order.php/###'. If I change it to anything other than 'order' my rule works fine. Anyone know what's going on?   Hi guys, I have started to work on a site without url rewriting. Now, the request is to use friendly urls so i started to use Intelligencia.UrlRewriter. Let's take an example: I have a method: public static string getCategoriesIndexLink(string category) { string baseUrl = getBaseUrl() + (String)HttpContext.GetGlobalResourceObject("Paths", "categorii.index"); return baseUrl.AddQueryParam(CQueryStringParameters.CATEGORY, category); } which build this kind of urls "~/Site/Categorii.aspx?category=$1" Now i've added the following rule in web.config: <rewrite url="~/Site/Categorii/(.+)" to="~/Site/Categorii.aspx?category=$1" /> The question is HOW i can make the above method to build that kind of nice url? So no longer return "~/Site/Categorii.aspx?category=m1" but "~/Site/Categorii/m1" without beeing needed to modify its structure? I mean, i have about 30 methods like the one from the above; it would be extremely helpfull if i can be guided to use a regex at the output of the methods iso modifying the url construction... • AVD Failed to Load ~ Failed to Parse Properties ~ Mac OSX

  I'm going to say upfront, please forgive me. I'm a newbie to android development and fairly new to programming. Also on a Mac. You're going to have to talk...real...slow. I can't get an AVD to load. I've tried it from Eclipse and from the Android SDK Manager. Failed multiple times. Received the same error each time, "Failed to parse properties from Users/myname/.android/avd/nameIGaveEmulator/config.ini." I've the forum here and saw that others have had similar problems, but of the answers given, no one came back to say if they worked, and I don't see anyone with a similar problem on a Mac. If the path needs to be "changed" what exactly does that mean and how do I go about doing so?

• Consuming WCF REST service in multiple ways (.Net, plain XML)

  I have become quite frustrated of WCF as I just want to use this simple scenario: Provide a webservice using REST, with a UriTemplate like /method/{param1}/{param2}/ and a 3th parameter that is sent to the service as XML as POST data. Use just plain XML, no SOAP overhead. Be able to generate a proxy in Visual Studio so a .Net using client can easily use the service (don't care about SOAP overhead here). I can create 1. and 2. but no way I can use 3. I tried adding both webHttpBinding and basicHttpBinding endpoints in my services config; I fooled around with the <services/> tag, but I just can't get this working. What am I missing here?! N.B. I checked out this article: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/186631/rest-soap-endpoints-for-a-wcf-service but nothing what is described there seems to work here?!

• Correct (pretty) window redraw during the creation

  Does anyone know what is a correct way to redraw window during lengthy initialization operations? Say I have HWND with NULL brush, and it does some not so quick child window initialization (Window initialization is not so quick on Vista and 7, especially on netbooks, even with threaded app). With this config window stays black for half a second on slower laptops. But if I supply window color brush, it seems that there are some sort of child controls or something that draws black squares on top of it, which also seems ugly. Even though the controls are created without WS_VISIBLE initially. Oh, the window has the WS_EX_COMPOSITED style, which should do the double buffering to avoid flicker. But it still behaves ugly. Are there any other tricks I've forgotten, missed?

• Publish Website

  I've published my website many times. But didn't think about this though until I came across this issue. So I decided to publish my WAP project to a local folder on my C drive first. Then used FTP to upload it to my shared host on discountasp.net. I noticed during runtime that the stack trace was referencing that local folder still and erroring out. Anyone know what config settings are affected when publishing? Obviously something is still pointing to my local C drive and I've searched my entire solution and don't see why.

• More memory usage for IIS 6 asp.net 2.0 on webserver 2003

  Running a webserver 2003 SP2 (x86) with IIS 6 and asp.net 2. The box is running mostly dynamic asp pages connecting to a sql 2008 server. At any given time there is over 1 gig of memory available out of the 2 gig in the box. It seems like there would be a way for it to make better use of the free memory. It is using a default machine.config file and default http.sys. I would like to maximize incoming internet connections and database connections. Is there something I can do to make better use of the available memory?

  When you run the same web based application as a multi-tenant application for different clients is there a way during the PreapplicationStartMethod to gain some kind of context to the site that is being started? More specifically I'd like to get the host header information (the "bindingInformation" attribute value from the applicationHost.config); I have found ways to get this information at the time of a specific request long after the application has started. Is there a way to get the information during the application startup process? This is an MVC 3 application and IIS 7.5.

So, here is what I am using: $ perl -e 'require "scrpt.pl"; loadConfigFile(); GetVariable("My Variable")' This works exactly as expected, but I need to read the XML file every time I am getting a variable. Is there a way I could "preserve" $data across shell calls? The idea is that I read the XML file only once. If no, is there is a more simple way I could do this? • mysql_close(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource

  Here's what I'm trying to do: I've got a db.php file that does all the db manipulation. It has 2 static methods, connect and deconnect. In my other file i simply use db::connect() and db::deconnect(). The mysql_close($con) in the deconnect method just doesn't know who $con is. Since I don't want to instantiate my class static is the only way to go. Declaring 'private $con' in class db doesn't seem to have an effect. • Move Global.asax to iHttpModule when using ASP.NET MVC

  I have successfully created an iHttpModule to replace my Global.asax file in many Web Forms applications. But in looking at the Global.asax file in my MVC application, the methods are totally different. I'm wondering if it is still possible to create this same thing in an MVC app. I know it's not necessary and the Global.asax works just fine. I suppose I just want to have nothing but the web.config in the root directory of my application. Also, I am putting all of my classes in a separate class library project instead of a folder in my MVC application. Not sure if this makes a difference or not.

• Read from output file in installed WCF service

The text file is correctly located in the same folder with the dll, exe, and config file after the project is installed (C:\Program Files\KLTesting\KLTestApp). However when the program tries to read it, it looks under "C:\Windows\system32", what's the correct way to find & read it? • ASP.NET: How can I properly redirect requests with 404 errors?

  Hi, I'd like my ASP.NET MVC application to redirect failed requests to matching action methods of a certain controller. This works fine on my development machine running Windows 7, but not on my production machine running Windows 2008 R2. I set up my web.config as follows: <customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="/Error/ServerError/500"> <error statusCode="403" redirect="/Error/AccessDenied" /> <error statusCode="404" redirect="/Error/FileNotFound" /> </customErrors> This customErrors section works fine on both of my machines (production and development) for 500 Internal Server errors. It also works fine for 404 errors on my development machine. However, it does not properly redirect 404 errors on the production machine. Instead of /Error/FileNotFound, I get the standard 404 page that comes with IIS 7. What could be the problem here?

  Hi, I would like advice on the best way to restrict access to a weba pplication (using .net 2.0 and II6) based on the clients IP address. The two ways I am considering: 1) Through the server side code - check the client I.P against a list of IP addresses within the web.config. 2) Through IIS by creating a virtual directory and restricting the I.P addresses on this virtual directory. My question is if I go the virtual directory route there are a lot of users that access this website and I have read reverse domain lookups made during each client request can be very expensive on server resources. • Deploying backing bean with composite component in separate jar

  I have some difficulties deploying my web app on JBoss AS 6.1. My current Project is separated into the main web app (controller/managed beans & web frontend using JSF 2 facelets) and one jar with the composite components + backing beans. But when I try to access the page I got an error that the specified component type could not be instantiated. Copying the backing bean into the main web app solves the problem, but this isn't what I want. So is there anything to pay attention to? The backing bean looks like @FacesComponent(value = "elementBase") public class ElementBase extends UINamingContainer { ... } and the composite components interface <composite:interface componentType="elementBase"> ... some attributes </composite:interface> The structure of the jar is the following -- META-INF |-- resources | |-- components | |-- elementBase.xhtml -- com |-- example | |-- ElementBase.class I've also tried to add faces-config.xml within META-INF folder, with the component type, but the component type was still not found.

• phpMyAdmin - can't connect - invalid setings - ever since I added a root password - locked out

  I run XAMPP, a few days back i had set up a password for the root password through phpmyadmin I am not able to access phpMyAdmin ever since that moment I followed help on this link but everything seems fine there (in config.inc.php). I even tried unistalling xampp fully, restarting windows and then reinstalling xampp, but still pointing to localhost/phpmyadmin I get the following error MySQL said: Cannot connect: invalid settings. phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server. I Also tried to reset root password through mysqld.bat as given on mysql's website help but to no avail Please Help!

  We are using the core service in ASP.NET custom page in order to create pages and components and sevenral updates (checkout,save and chekin). we want those operations to work in transaction, we tried to implement it acording to some examples over the net. However we didn't succeded operating the rollback. It seems that the operation are immediately performed without waiting for the comit .   I am using Symfony 1.3.2 and I have a page that uses a partial from another module. I have two modules: 'foo' and 'foobar'. In module 'foo', I have an 'index' action, which uses a partial from the 'foobar' module. so foo/indexSuccess.php looks something like this: Some data here ? I want to cache 'part2' of my foo/indexSuccess.php page, because it is very expensive (slow). I want the cache to have a lifetime of about 10 minutes. In apps/frontend/modules/foo/config/cache.yml I need to know how to cache 'part2' of the page (i.e. the [very expensive] partial part of the page. can anyone tell me what entries are required in the cache.yml file?
