I am getting address of COM function by loading type library (TLB) and iterating over types using ITypeLib and ITypeInfo. After calling AddressOfMember function of ITypeInfo I am facing the following exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800288BD): Wrong module kind for the operation. • Create flow diagram programmatically

- by Julian Lettner
I want to visualize components and connections of a HVAC system with .NET/C#. The diagrams will just include a few different components and their connections. They do not have to comply to any formal standard and should look alike the diagrams attached. In addition the user should be able to select a single component/connection (so that I can display additional data). Which free drawing/charting library would you use and why? Thanks for your time.

• How does changing armv6/armv7 architecture to armv6 affect my iPad app? Will there be performance/st

- by Flocked
Hello, I need to change the the architectures of "Any iPhone OS Device" from "Optimized (armv6 armv7)" to "Standard (armv6)" for a library. I'm not exactly sure what effect will this have on the performance and stability of my iPad app. If I understand it right, the iPad has the armv7 architecture. I'm not so familiar with architectures, so I don't know what it means.

• Retrieving the an SQL Agent job's specific error

- by Tom Andrews
I am using msdb..sp_help_job to access whether a job succeeded or failed and can retrieve a general error. But, I want to access the specific error for the step that failed. I cannot seem to find it. It is not in this list of helpful stored procedures provided by MS http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187763%28v=SQL.100%29.aspx The account running the query is limited but does have the SQLUserAgent role and owns the Jobs that it is accessing.

• Python: unable to inherit from a C extension.

- by celil
I am trying to add a few extra methods to a matrix type from the pysparse library. Apart from that I want the new class to behave exactly like the original, so I chose to implement the changes using inheritance. However, when I try from pysparse import spmatrix class ll_mat(spmatrix.ll_mat): pass this results in the following error TypeError: Error when calling the metaclass bases cannot create 'builtin_function_or_method' instances What is this causing this error? Is there a way to use delegation so that my new class behaves exactly the same way as the original?

• launching mapview from main activity (button)

- by arc
Hi all. Going round in circles here i think. I have an activity called Locate; public class Locate extends Activity { public static String lat; public static String lon; public static String number; public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.locate); final Button buttonMaps = (Button) findViewById(R.id.ButtonMaps); buttonMaps.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { Toast.makeText(getBaseContext(), "Button Pressed", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); try { Intent i = new Intent(getBaseContext(), displayMap.class); i.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK); startActivity(i); } catch (ActivityNotFoundException e) { Toast.makeText(getBaseContext(), "Activity Not Found", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } }}); // Toast.makeText(getBaseContext(), "lat: " + lat + " long: " + lon + " from: " + testname, Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); } If I make the displayMap class into a normal Activity, and just have display a toast message confirming it has loaded - then it works fine. If i do this though; public class displayMap extends MapActivity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ public void onCreate() { setContentView(R.layout.displaymap); Toast.makeText(getBaseContext(), "Display Map", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } @Override protected boolean isRouteDisplayed() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return false; } } Then as soon as I click the Button, I get a force close. I have the correct 'uses-library' tag in my manifest; <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps" /> I don't get what it just force closes everytime i try and load it. If I make this my onClick handler then it will fire up a working googlemaps/default mapview public void onClick(View v) { Toast.makeText(getBaseContext(), "Button Pressed", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); Uri uri=Uri.parse("geo:"+Locate.lat+","+Locate.lon); StartActivity(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, uri)); } But that is not what I am trying to do, I want my own - so that I can add overlays etc to it. But it does prove that the permission are set correctly and that the lib is there. The logcat error when the app FCs is a Unexpected DEX error. Can anyone point in the right direction here?

• Why is my javascript function sometimes "not defined"?

- by harpo
Problem: I call my javascript function, and sometimes I get the error 'myFunction is not defined'. But it is defined. For example. I'll occasionally get 'copyArray is not defined' even in this example: function copyArray( pa ) { var la = []; for (var i=0; i < pa.length; i++) la.push( pa[i] ); return la; } Function.prototype.bind = function( po ) { var __method = this; var __args = []; // sometimes errors -- in practice I inline the function as a workaround __args = copyArray( arguments ); return function() { /* bind logic omitted for brevity */ } } As you can see, copyArray is defined right there, so this can't be about the order in which script files load. I've been getting this in situations that are harder to work around, where the calling function is located in another file that should be loaded after the called function. But this was the simplest case I could present, and appears to be the same problem. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, so I do suspect some kind of load-timing-related problem. But I have no idea what. @Hojou: That's part of the problem. The function in which I'm now getting this error is itself my addLoadEvent, which is basically a standard version of the common library function. @James: I understand that, and there is no syntax error in the function. When that is the case, the syntax error is reported as well. In this case, I am getting only the 'not defined' error. @David: The script in this case resides in an external file that is referenced using the normal method in the page's head section. @Douglas: Interesting idea, but if this were the case, how could we ever call a user-defined function with confidence? In any event, I tried this and it didn't work. @sk: This technique has been tested across browsers and is basically copied from the prototype library.

• Wanted: a very simple java RegExp API

- by itsadok
I'm tired of writing Pattern p = Pattern.compile(... Matcher m = p.matcher(str); if (m.find()) { ... Over and over again in my code. I was going to write a helper class to make it neater, but I then I wondered: is there a library that tries to provide a simpler facade for Regular Expressions in Java? I'm thinking something in the style of commons-lang and Guava.

• Adding simple marker clusterer to google map

- by take2
Hi, I'm having problems with adding marker clusterer functionality to my map. What I want is to use custom icon for my markers and every marker has its own info window which I want to be able to edit. I did accomplish that, but now I have problems adding marker clusterer library functionality. I read something about adding markers to array, but I'm not sure what would it exactly mean. Besides, all of the examples with array I have found, don't have info windows and searching through the code I didn't find appropriate way to add them. Here is my code (mostly from Geocodezip.com):

• How do I output a webpage that contains MathML to PDF?

- by samiz
My web application displays MathML embedded in HTML using the MathPlayer plugin. I need to output to PDF. I have PDF components (Dynamic PDF, ABCpdf), but they don't know how to parse the MathML, of course. Is there a library that can help me translate the MathML to an image or something that I can feed to the PDF components on the fly in the web application?
