• ClearTrace Supports SQL Server 2008 R2

  It was a long time coming and I hope worth the wait.  If you have SQL Server 2008 R2 installed on the same box as ClearTrace and you download the latest ClearTrace build (36) you’ll be able to read SQL Server 2008 R2 traces.  I also fixed a bug handling very, very large SQL statements.  I encountered an INSERT statement that was 12MB in size.  It was storing XML in a database.  ClearTrace uses regular expressions to clean up the SQL it finds.  Running two dozen regular expressions over this 12MB string caused the application to crash.  In this build I’m just skipping any statement over 1MB.  I’ll do something a little nicer in the next build. • Plotting a cumulative graph of python datetimes

  Say I have a list of datetimes, and we know each datetime to be the recorded time of an event happening. Is it possible in matplotlib to graph the frequency of this event occuring over time, showing this data in a cumulative graph (so that each point is greater or equal to all of the points that went before it), without preprocessing this list? (e.g. passing datetime objects directly to some wonderful matplotlib function) Or do I need to turn this list of datetimes into a list of dictionary items, such as: {"year": 1998, "month": 12, "date": 15, "events": 92} and then generate a graph from this list? Sorry if this seems like a silly question - I'm not all too familiar with matplotlib, and would like to save myself the effort of doing this the latter way if matplotlib can already deal with datetime objects itself.

• Syncing Files between workgroup server and Ubuntu workstation

  Recently I have decided that I can't make Windows 8 my primary OS on my laptop as it is just too cumbersome to deal with. I am made the switch to Ubuntu and so far so good. Using Windows I have been able to cache folders on my workgroup server using a feature called "Client Side Cache" that allows me to take a copy of my personal files offline while I am in the field, then later I when I return any changes get pushed up to the server and my local cache is refreshed. This feature is completely client driven although characteristics of it (who and what can be cached, and if caching is automatic) can be controlled via a policy assigned as part of a directory membership. Can anyone suggest a linux replacement for this feature? Is there a better way of handling this?

  I am trying to change a label's text by using server-side javascript (onclick) and C# within the page_load event. For example, I would like to write something like the following: Label1.Attributes.Add("onclick", "Label2.text='new caption'") Does anyone know the correct code for this? Also, what is this type of code referred to; is it just javascript or javascript in C# or is there a specific name? • Not responding to events?

  I currently have three Divs and only one of them is in focus at a given time. All of them line up in a film strip fashion. When I click a DIV not in focus, the current one moves to the left or right (depending on the direction) and the new one comes into focus. The divs can have content that has links. So my problem is that upon clicking on the divs not in focus, if I happen to click on a link, the event is captured. Is there anyway I can disable event detection for divs not in focus? What I am looking for is something like: if(div not in focus) disable all links if (div comes into focus) enable all links

• Displaying Nested Array Content with Time Delay in Flex

  I have a JSON array that look like this: (array here) I'm trying to use Flex to display each Project and its Milestone elements similar to a nested for-loop for 15 seconds per Milestone element before advancing to the next Project. • Removing unnecessary joomla CMS components

  Background I have been developing a web application. I have been using Joomla platform and CMS as the base from my application. My application relies heavily on the joomla platform, but uses very few features of the CMS (I have to login users etc so I use the _users component of the CMS). Question What is the best way to start removing some of the excess CMS that I don't need? For example when I being building my production site, I will want to avoid creating a load of joomla component database tables etc. I have read that an application can be build from the ground up using just the joomla platform, but i still want to include the _users component and would also like to avoid having to start coding all the session handling aspects. Any advice?

• How to record when user follows external links without slowing user down

  I want to track when user clicks external links for analytics purposes. The simplest solution is to replace all external links with links to special record-and-redirect controller, but that would slow the user unnecessarily. The second idea would be to override click event and within in $.post a message to record controller, then let the main event handler happen, which will usually be either click (open link in same tab) or middle click (open in new tab) - good either way, and the user won't have to wait for wait for my server to record it, it's fire-and-forget. (I don't care if users without Javascript don't get tracked) Is that a reasonable way to go? Or what else would be the best way to track all external link clicks?

• $.ajax working with Firefox, not IE

  Hello, I have a jQuery code to allow users to login using a lightbox (http://colorpowered.com/colorbox/) and immediately start downloading files, without being redirected or having the page reloaded. • Rendering of graphics different depending on position

  When drawing parallel vertical lines with a fixed distance between them (1.75 pixels) with a non-integer x-value-offset to both lines, the lines are drawn differently based on the offset. In the picture below are two pairs of very close together vertical lines. As you can see, they look very different. This is frustrating, especially when animating the sprite. WebBrowser control has many events such as Navigated, GotFocus etc. I need to handle an event when HTML is rendered inside the control. Just wondered is it possible. • How can I get the edit control in a cell of a DataGridView to validate itself?

  It appears that the only way to capture the keypress events within a cell of a DataGridView control, in order to validate user input as they type, is to us the DataGridView controls OnEditControlShowing event, hook up a method to the edit control's (e.Control) keypress event and do some validation. My problem is that I've built a heap of custom DataGridView column classes, with their own custom cell types. These cells have their own custom edit controls (things like DateTimePickers, and Numeric or Currency textboxes.) I want to do some numeric validation for those cells that have Numeric of Currency Textboxes as their edit controls but not all the other cell types. How can I determine, within the DataGridView's "OnEditControlShowing" override, whether or not a particular edit control needs some numeric validation? (In the meantime I've restorted to setting the Tag property of my custom edit controls to a known value and any Edit Controls I find in the OnEditControlShowing override, I hook to my validation routine - I don't like that much!)

  I am doing an app which has a feature to rotate and re size a view. i have implemented this feature but i do face an issue. My problem The View wil be resized when dragging its four corners, after resizing it i can rotate the view in both directions. Once the rotation is done, if i try again to resize the view by dragging its corner, the view's size gone to unpredictable value and its moving all around the screen.   Hi, I'm doing a gridview with an object datasource: List<MyObject> TheSource = a linq query At some point, I have MyGridview.DataSource = TheSource; MyGridview.Databind(); and an OnRowDataBound event handler that's tied to the databinding. In that event handler, how do you make column 2 contain 2 objects from TheSource. For instance, in the TheSource, there is a variable for FirstName and another one for LastName. Column 2 needs to contain both the first and last name in the same cell. Thanks.

  I have a movieclip called keyCButton that I want to add a keyboardEvent ("C" Key) to. This will play an animation from frames 2-30 with a sound. I have watched a few tutorials but still haven't gotten the correct information to make it work. • Re-sizing the form without scaling the GUI

  I am writing a turn based strategy game in C#. My GUI implementation consists of class that extends Form containing a class that extends Panel. When I render the GUI I draw to the paint method in the panel. I am trying to figure out what is the best way for handling form re-size events. I know I want a minimum window size, but I would prefer to not have a maximum or a set size. Ideally the GUI would reveal more/less of the map as the user changes the window size. I would like to avoid scaling the graphics if at all possible. What is the best way to handle re-size events?

  Hello. I use project webkit2png (slightly appended) to take screenshots in Linux. On the server running the latest version QtWebkit and Python 2.6 On some sites (eg 118114.cn) problem and the application hangs forever. Debug shows that the problem in this code snippet: while self.__loading:    if timeout 0 and time.time() = cancelAt:       raise RuntimeError("Request timed out on %s" % url)    while QApplication.hasPendingEvents():       QCoreApplication.processEvents() Full version of the source code is available here (lines 270-275) Somehow Loading-event hangs and hasPendingEvents can not be False. Most of the screenshots are created normally, but sometimes due to some URL drops my app: ( Does anyone know how to solve this problem and why the event hangs?

• Placeholder containing dynamic table is empty unless I create table twice

  I am dynamically creating a table that contains a textbox in each cell. The table is put in a placeholder control. Everything displays perfectly. The problem is when I go to retrieve the values entered in the cells. I have the code to generate the table in a separate method called CreateTable(). In order for my program to find a table in the placeholder when I go to save, I have to run CreateTable() in a postback event AND in the PageLoad event. If I call CreateTable() in only one of those places and I try to save, it says the placeholder is empty and, therefore, I cannot save the textbox contents. I've tried calling CreateTable() from InitLoad but that doesn't work because it needs to reference values from three static controls: 1 dropdown, 1 listbox, and 1 calendar control, which I don't believe have had their viewstate rendered yet. Anyone have any ideas? It would sure be nice not to have to double the number of database calls just to make this work.

  DatabaseError at /admin/delmarva/event/ no such column: delmarva_event.eventdate I created a class in my models.py file: from django.db import models from django.contrib.auth.models import User class Event(models.Model): eventname = models.CharField(max_length = 100) eventdate = models.DateField() eventtime = models.TimeField() address = models.CharField(max_length = 200) user = models.ForeignKey(User) def __unicode__(self): return self.eventname and now when i try to view my events in my admin or my main_page it gives me the error that there is no eventdate. I tried syncing the db again but nothing changed. Also, I hashtagged eventdate out to see if I get a different error and then it states that delmarva_event.eventtime does not exist as well. I It is weird because it does not have a problem with eventname. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
