    i have a web portal running which involves basic data entry. The issue being that this is highly sensitive data. And the credibility of the data entry personel is very low. Therefore i have implemented recording of IP when an entry is made. The Problem i am facing is if this if this person starts forwarding his IP from a proxy server then i am unable to track authenticity of the data. How do i detect if the IP forwarding is happening/ get the real ip address of the person.

  • Get websites title and description, save to utf8 table, php/mysql

    Hi guys, I've been trying today all day to figure this out and I have no idea. What I want: Get the title and meta description of any kind of website. Save this info to utf table in mysql. What the problem is? Different sites have different charsets which results in that some have chinese, some contain umlauts (german), then we have russian and so on.. I've tried preg_match which works for some while not for others, i've tried DOMdocument which is the same as preg_match. Is there any class available that will do this? Hope someone can help, thanks.

  • Fetch multiple rows from SQL in PHP foreach item in array

    I try to request an array of IDs, to return each row with that ID, and push each into an Array $finalArray But only the first result from the Query will output, and at the second foreach, it skips the while loop. I have this working in another script, so I don't understand where it's going wrong. So, why am I not getting the second row from info? I am essentially re-querying foreach $arrayItem right?

And i want to extract "DESIRED IMAGE LINK" inside the "" tag, currently i'm using this: $pattern = '<div class="cont">.*?src=["\']?([^"\']?.*?(png|jpg|jpeg|gif))["\']?/i'; if (preg_match($pattern, $content, $image)) ..... But it doesn't work, the error is: warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Unknown modifier '.' How can i fix it? Thanks

    Hello, So I have a very simple class that has a method called getThumbUrl() but when I try calling this method on an instance I get Notice: Undefined property: FlickrImage::$getFullUrl But it is clearly there. Here is the code of the function: public function getThumbUrl() { return "http://farm".$this->_farm.".static.flickr.com/".$this->_server."/".$this->_id."_".$this->_secret."_t.jpg"; } And here is where it fails: foreach($photos as $photo) { echo "<img src='$photo->getFullUrl()' />"; } Any ideas?   • MySql php: check if Row exists

    This is probably an easy thing to do but I'm an amateur and things just aren't working for me. I just want to check and see if a row exists where the $lectureName shows. If a row does exist with the $lectureName somewhere in it, I want the function to return "assigned" if not then it should return "available". Here's what I have. I'm fairly sure its a mess.   • PHP strtotime() setting date to default

    I have a script which is reading values from an excel sheet and inserting them into an sql table. My problem is when the script reads in some of the date fields it is setting them to a default value : 1970-01-01 01:00:00 I have noticed that this is happening when it comes across a date where the 'day' is greater than 12 : 13/05/2012 18:52:33 (dd-mm-yyyy hh-mm-ss) I thought this may be due to the script thinking that this is the month field (i.e american format) and it sees it as an invalid value, so I set the default timezone to my own hoping it may resolve the problem but it made no difference. date_default_timezone_set('Europe/Dublin'); Here is an example of what my code is doing: Excel field value : 01/05/2012 18:32:45 Script: $start_time = $data->val($x,5); echo $start_time = date("Y-m-d H:i:s", strtotime($start_time)); Output: 2012-01-05 18:32:45 This is the exact format I am looking for (except for the fact that the day and month fields are switched around i.e american date format) but it doesnt work for the type of dates I mentioned above.

  • Empty files generated from running `mysqldump` using PHP

    I keep getting empty files generated from running $command = 'mysqldump --opt -h localhost -u username -p \'password\' dbname > \'backup 2009-04-15 09-57-13.sql\''; command($command); Anyone know what might be causing this? My password has strange characters in it, but works fine with connecting to the db. I've ran exec($command, $return) and outputted the $return array and it is finding the command. I've also ran it with mysqldump > file.sql and the file contains Usage: mysqldump [OPTIONS] database [tables] OR mysqldump [OPTIONS] --databases [OPTIONS] DB1 [DB2 DB3...] OR mysqldump [OPTIONS] --all-databases [OPTIONS] For more options, use mysqldump --help So it would seem like the command is working.

    I'm really not sure how to explain this. It's so simple I can't fathom why it's not working. I have a loop. It puts a bunch of strings into an array. If I fill a single variable with any given string, it will output it perfectly. But filling an array with the strings will make it give me the dreaded: Array Array Array Array Array Array Array Array Note: my strings are not all 'Array'.   • PHP SDK Requires two logins...doesn't recognize first

    I am using the following code to authenticate whether users are logged in or not. While users can log in, they have to click the login button twice. Additionally, sometimes even after they click the log-in button twice, my "user info" part of the page (earlier in the page than the content) shows them as logged out while the actual page shows them as logged in. Here is the code.   • PHP - ftp_get only works once

    I'm connecting to an ftp server that I have no control over, and I'm pretty sure is using something old and outdated due to other issues I've run into. I'm simply using this code in a loop to get all the files in a directory. ftp_put($this->conn_id, $remote, $local, FTP_ASCII); The first time all goes well, but after that I get this error thrown for each file I try to get: "There is already an active transaction" I've tried both passive & active with no luck. It's the exact same code I use to connect to other FTP servers and get files with no problem. Any ideas? I suppose my last resort could be disconnecting and reconnecting for each file, but that seems like a huge waste.

A bit of background: just practicing making a web app, a form on page 1 takes in some values from the user, posts them to the next page which contains the code to connect to the DB and populate the relevant tables.
