    As the second part of the JCP.Next effort, JCP 2.9 launched 2 weeks ago on 13 November, and the first JCP EC ballots with the Merged EC have concluded.   JSR 339, JAX-RS 2.0: The Java API for RESTful Web Services, passed EC Public Review Ballot and was approved by the EC -- 22 yes votes, 2 abstain, 2 did not vote -- view results. JSR 349, Bean Validation 1.1, passed EC Public Review Ballot and was approved by the EC --17 yes votes, 2 abstain, 5 did not vote --  view results.

  • Where in a typical rendering pipeline does visibility and shading occur?

    I am taking a computer graphics course. The book and the lecture notes are vague on the on the order of flow between the different steps in the rendering process. For example, if we have specified a view in a scene, and then want to perform a projection transformation for that given view, then we have to go through a sequence of transformations. In the end we end up with a normalized "viewcube" ready to be mapped 2D after clipping. But why do we end up with a cube (ie 3D thing), when a projection results in projecting the 3D objects to 2D. (depth information is lost?) The other line of reasoning is that all information further needed is stored within the "cube" and that visibility detection and shading is performed with respect to this cube and then we perform rasterezation.

  • How to delete Analytics property from list in Webmaster Tools?

    When I look at the Google Analytics Property page in Webmaster Tools (where you associate a Google Analytics web property with a Webmaster Tools site), I see a list of a bunch of properties with weird names. They are test properties from when we were trying things out years ago. I can't view them or change their name in Analytics because they don't exist there. All their profiles were deleted years ago. Is there a way to remove these from the list in Webmaster Tools? Or, alternatively, a way to view them again in Analytics so I can give them a better name, at least. I know this doesn't matter in the big scheme of things, but I hate clutter.

  • Best way to develop a level from Top down image using 3dmax

    I have to create a game level from a top down view of an area. I used a plane converted to an editable poly to do the job. I used edges to create the top view of roads, walkways and parks so that i can extrude/edit them later. My problem is the curves in the road look blocky I tried appying mesh smooth modifier on the final model but that interfered with material mapping. Again i tried it on the plane without the extrusions and still the modifier does not work(The roads loose their shape). I know one way to solve the problem is to add more vertices on the curve and transform their location to create a more natural curve but i have a lot of curves so before doing it manually i need to know if there is a tool that refines the curves. Also i need to know if there is a better or proper way of doing the task.

    I'm trying to learn how to code in MVC ... Normally what i do most times is that I write all the codes first, then break out the functions.. Have the functions into a seperate file and include it at the top of the page when I need it. 1) This method seem to work for me, although that means i require more time to make out the functions. Is this normal for learners.? 2) When I'm doing MVC : Model - contains all the functions and it's included in the view View - This has to do with the display of the whole app What is the use of Controller?   • Analytics - Total events divided by number of unique pages?

    I am using Google Analytics events to track keywords on my articles - not necessarily the best system I know but there are too many for variables I can't easily change it right now - and I would like to be able to see how popular each keyword is by dividing the number of page views with a keyword by the number of unique pages. Is there a/what is the best way of doing this? EDIT FOR CLARITY I currently have a system set up where every time somebody loads an article an event is fired for each of the tags/keywords used, with the keyword being the label. I can currently view my view count for each of the keywords by looking at the total events for each label, however I would like to be able to see which keywords are the most popular by dividing the number of times the event has been fired by the the number of different pages it has been fired from.

    I'm developing a simple multi-player puzzle game in Java. Both players should be able to view the same game board on his own computer. Then, when one player makes an action in the game (ex. drags an object onto a coordinate space), the game's view should update automatically on the other computer's game screen. I'd like all this to happen over the internet, not requiring both computers to be on the same LAN connection. If I need to use SQL/PHP to accomplish this, I'm unsure how to design the database to accomplish something as simple as the following: Player A drags element onscreen Game sends coordinates of element to database/server Player B's computer detects a change to an item in the database Player B's computer grabs the coordinates of Player A's item Player B's machine draws onscreen elements at the received coordinates Could somebody point me in the right direction?

  • Android save Checkbox State in ListView with Cursor Adapter

    I cant find a way to save the checkbox state when using a Cursor adapter. Everything else works fine but if i click on a checkbox it is repeated when it is recycled. Ive seen examples using array adapters but because of my lack of experience im finding it hard to translate it into using a cursor adapter. Could someone give me an example of how to go about it.   • Android custom ListView unable to click on items

    So I have a custom ListView object. The list items have two textviews stacked on top of each other, plus a horizontal progress bar that I want to remain hidden until I actually do something. To the far right is a checkbox that I only want to display when the user needs to download updates to their database(s). When I disable the checkbox by setting the visibility to Visibility.GONE, I am able to click on the list items. When the checkbox is visible, I am unable to click on anything in the list except the checkboxes. I've done some searching but haven't found anything relevant to my current situation. I found this question but I'm using an overridden ArrayAdapter since I'm using ArrayLists to contain the list of databases internally. Do I just need to get the LinearLayout view and add an onClickListener like Tom did? I'm not sure.     I am working with Qt's QWebView, and have been finding lots of great uses for adding to the webkit window object.   • Single DispatcherServlet with Multiple Controllers

    I am trying to create some restful web services using Spring MVC 3.0. I currently have an issue that only 1 of my 2 controllers will work at any given time. As it turns out, whichever class comes first when sorted alphabetically will work properly. The error I get is: handleNoSuchRequestHandlingMethod No matching handler method found for servlet request: path '/polinq.xml', method 'GET', parameters map[[empty]] I had a very simliar message earlier also, except instead of the map being empty it was something like map[v--String(array)] Regardless of the message though, currently the LocationCovgController works and the PolicyInquiryController doesn't. If I change the change of the PolicyInquiryController to APolicyInquiryController, then it will start funcitoning properly and the LocationCovgController will stop working. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.   • Does anyone know how to appropriately deal with user timezones in rails 2.3?

    We're building a rails app that needs to display dates (and more importantly, calculate them) in multiple timezones. Can anyone point me towards how to work with user timezones in rails 2.3(.5 or .8) The most inclusive article I've seen detailing how user time zones are supposed to work is here: http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/howtos/time-zones... although it is unclear when this was written or for what version of rails. Specifically it states that: "Time.zone - The time zone that is actually used for display purposes. This may be set manually to override config.time_zone on a per-request basis." Keys terms being "display purposes" and "per-request basis". Locally on my machine, this is true. However on production, neither are true. Setting Time.zone persists past the end of the request (to all subsequent requests) and also affects the way AR saves to the DB (basically treating any date as if it were already in UTC even when its not), thus saving completely inappropriate values. We run Ruby Enterprise Edition on production with passenger. If this is my problem, do we need to switch to JRuby or something else?   • highlight navigation PHP

    I've launched a website a while back and successfully used Javascript + CSS to highlight the current page on the navigation. However, it is not working in Safari and it does not validate well, when using Javascript, so I decided to have PHP assign the CSS id to the HTML elements. So far, it works fine, compared to the other times where there was two of each link displayed, when it was attempted in PHP. My problem is that all links look normal and the CSS property is not applied. I have a feeling that it has to do with my PHP code, but I'm not certain.   • Can't seem to redirect from a ViewScoped constructor.

    I'm having trouble redirecting from a view scoped bean in the case that we don't have the required info for the page in question. The log entry in the @PostContruct is visible in the log right before a NPE relating to the view trying to render itself instead of following my redirect. Why is it ignoring the redirect?
