• Localize Currency for iPhone

  I would like my iPhone app to allow the input, display and storage of currency amounts using the appropriate symbol ($, €, £, ¥, etc) for the user. Would NSNumberFormatter do everything I need? What happens when a user switches their locale and these amounts (dollars, yen, etc.) are stored as NSDecimalNumbers. I assume, to be safe, it's necessary to somehow capture the locale at the time of entry and then the currency symbol and store them in my instance along with the NSDecimalNumber ivar so they can be unwrapped and displayed appropriately down the road should the user changed their locale since the time when the item was created? Sorry, I have little localization experience so hoping for a couple quick pointers before diving in. Lastly, any insight on how to you handle this kind of input given the limitations of the iPhone's keyboards?

• DirectSound affects system volume on WinXP

  Hello guys, I'm currently developing an audio engine that is used in voice network chat software. Everything is working fine - capture/playback/mixing channels. The problem is in using it under Windows XP. I've been getting user reports with information that their global system volume is set to zero after launching the application. I'm assuming that happens because of WaveOut/DSound conflict. How can I force DSound not to affect system volume? Playback device is initialized: DirectSoundCreate8(&GUID, &pAudio, NULL); and: pAudio-SetCooperativeLevel(parentWnd, DSSCL_PRIORITY); I'm currently not able to debug the application, cause I'm using Vista and everything is OK. • IIS URL Rewriting for all Inbound URLs?

  Hopefully a simple question although one I have found impossible to answer myself using the Googles! I have a website on IIS with the URL http://www.contoso.com/ which points to C:\www\public\ There has been a forced directory restructure so now all of the data (Default.aspx, Product.aspx, etc.) that originally resided in C:\www\public\ now resides in C:\www\public\en\ie\ - however, the IIS website document root is still C:\www\public\ So, essentially, I have a lot of inbound links to http://www.contoso.com/Product.aspx?id=1 (etc.) which are now returning 404 errors - the correct link is now http://www.contoso.com/en/ie/Product.aspx?id=1 Please consider that I can make no changes to the directory structure or the IIS document root... so must solve this issue using URL rewriting. Is it possible to capture all requests to contoso.com/* and rewrite them to contoso.com/en/ie/* ??

• Using Dynamics AX's Business Conectors to Generate Sales Orders

  So, just like the title says, I need to create an application that gets data from another Database, and shoves it through Dynamics AX's throat. This data comes from a portal, not Enterprise Portal, but a PHP one. It stores some data from the order in a separate database. So as said, I need to 'import' that to AX, creating the sales orders with the data I have from the other database. Also I'd like some references on Business Conector too, does it handle all those RECIDS and references that AX uses for me? Thanks in advance. EDIT: OK, I'm able to insert records in AX's database, theres just one problem. I can't generate the internal ID. Like, the 'AccountNum' field for the CustTable. Is there a way to capture it from business connector?

To get this value I am using below regex: regex => q/^process,(?:.*?),((?:\d+)\.(?:\d+))%,java$/, For the linux system I have below output: process,26190,user1,20,0,1236m,43m,6436,S,0.0,1.1,0:00.00,java, Here the CPU usage is at 10th column. What regex pattern should I use to get this value?

  I'd like to capture signatures of application users with a mini-tablet/little pos signature device. I welcome any first hand experiences of which ones were good and which ones to stay away from. Off the top of my head I can think of a few features I'd like to see: USB interface Not too expensive (I don't know 100-200 dollars?) Be easy to integrate with a managed .NET application Also I realize most people, myself included, think of digitally signing assemblies with code instead of a mini-tablet device, if there is a more accurate phrase for this pleas let me know. • J2me Blackberry Numeric Input

  Hello, I am developing a blackberry application using j2me and LWUIT (blackberry port). Everything works great except for the TextField in numeric mode. Basically when you have focus on the TextField you have to first go into "NUMERIC" mode (by pressing alt + aA) in order to input, which is not user friendly and a problem. The proposed solution is to use a TextArea instead that allows you to open a NATIVE type input box. The problem there is that the user needs to focus the field and then press the fire button which again is unfriendly. Does anyone know of any simple solutions? The few solutions i have in mind (but not sure how to do them): 1) Capture any keypress on the TextArea and go into NATIVE mode, instead of just the fire key. 2) Put the blackberry input mode into numeric using code for the whole form. • Server Side of UpdatePanel don't understand PartialPostback

  This erros seems to happen randomly and in the whole system. Sometimes when we click in a button, or even try to login, a alert comes up with the "Message cannot be parsed" error. Funny thing is that when I turn on fiddler, the thing stars to function ok. Sniffing the connection via smsniff i was able to capture the traffic of the bugged and working postbacks. The contents were suposed to be rendered in a update panel. It appears that the "bugged" response is the whole page again, what would cause such a thing? • SQL 2008 Database tuning advisor won't start

  For some reason I can't get DTA to connect to my development machine. It connects to a remote DB just fine but when I point it to my dev machine I get an error saying: Failed to initialize MSDB database for tuning (exit code: -1073741819). I'm pretty sure it's not a permissions issue since I've used profiler to capture what it's doing and all of the commands it's run so far look fine and are being run under my account which is associated with the sysadmin role, when I run them in sql management studio they go through fine. I'm pretty convinced that the problem is related to creating the objects in MSDB that are used by DTA but I tried creating these manually (I found scripts on the web) and it just seems to push the problem along the line slightly. I'm going out of my mind - have even tried reinstalling SQL but that's not fixed it. I'm using SQL 2008 with SP1 (10.0.2531) on windows server 2008 (patched up to date). SAVE ME!!!!!

  I have a plain text file something like this: Ford\tTaurus F-150 F-250 Toyota\tCamry Corsica In other words, a two-level hierarchy where the first child is on the same line as the parent, but subsequent children on lines following, distinguished from being a parent by a two-space prefix (\t above represents a literal tab in the text). I need to convert to this using RegEx: Ford\tTaurus Ford\tF-150 Ford\tF-250 Toyota\tCamry Toyota\tCorsica So, I need to capture the parent (text between \r\n and \t not starting with \s\s), and apply that in the middle of any \r\n\s\s found until the next parent. I have a feeling this can be done with some sort of nested groups, but I think I need more caffeine or something, can't seem to work out the pattern. (Using .NET with IgnoreWhitespace off and Multiline off)

  I can't seem to capture the scroll event on an iPad. None of these work, what I am doing wrong? window.onscroll=myFunction; document.onscroll=myFunction; window.attachEvent("scroll",myFunction,false); document.attachEvent("scroll",myFunction,false); They all work even on Safari 3 on Windows. Ironically, EVERY browser on the PC supports window.onload= if you don't mind clobbering existing events. But no go on iPad.

  Hi all, I am trying to make my web app compatible with international languages and I am stuck with trying to convert escaped characters in my Delphi .NET DLL. The front end code is passing the UTF-8 hex notation with an escape character e.g for ? I pass \uE3818A. In my DLL I capture this and constract the following string '$E3828A'. I need to convert this back to ? and send it to my database, I've been trying to use Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes and Encoding.UTF8.GetString but with no luck. Anyone could help me figure this out? • 100% width bg images not extending on horizontal scroll

  I'm noticing this issue. I made a quick screen capture to demonstrate: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/904456/2010-06-14_2323.swf Basically when you have a min-width set and the viewport goes under that constraint, a horizontal scroll bar appears. Pretty much what you would expect, but when you scroll over horizontally all elements that are suppose to extend across the entire width of the page and have background images/colors different from the body do not extend. If you resize the viewport it seems to catch up. Is this a known issue? You can see it on a lot of sites, http://gowalla.com for example. Any ideas?
