• Deploy GWT Application to Google App Engine using NetBeans

  Hello, I try to deploy a GWT application, to Google App Engine using NetBeans. I had successful run GWT sample http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/doc/latest/tutorial/create.html using Personal GlassFish v3 Prelude Domain, by 1) Copy generated source code from StockWatcher to C:\Projects\StockWatcherNetbeans\src\java\com\google\ 2) Modify C:\Projects\StockWatcherNetbeans\nbproject\gwt.properties gwt.module=com.google.gwt.stockwatcher.StockWatcher 3) Select Personal GlassFish v3 Prelude Domain, and run. All works fine! Now, I try to select Google App Engine server, and run. However, I get the error "There is no appengine web project opened!" I check... There is file called C:\Projects\StockWatcherNetbeans\war\WEB-INF\appengine-web.xml with content <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <appengine-web-app xmlns="http://appengine.google.com/ns/1.0" xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' xsi:schemaLocation='http://kenai.com/projects/nbappengine/downloads/download/schema/appengine-web.xsd appengine-web.xsd'> <application>StockWatcherNetbeans</application> <version>1</version> </appengine-web-app> I am using NetBeans 6.7.1 GWT4NB (GWT Plugin for NetBeans) 2.6.12 Google App Engine plugin for NetBeans from http://kenai.com/downloads/nbappengine/1.0_NetBeans671/updates.xml Anything I had missed out? Even when I right click to the project, the Deploy to Google App Engine options is disabled. And yes, please do not ask me why not use Eclipse.

• Getting unhandled exception when DataTemplate is created dynamically using Silverlight 3.0

  Requirement is to create a reusable multi-select combobox custom control. To accomplish this, I am creating the DataTemplate dynamically through code and set the combobox ItemTemplate. I am able to load the datatemplate dynamically and set the ItemTemplate, but getting unhandled exception (code: 7054) when combobox is selected. • .Net Entity Framework & POCO ... querying full table problem

  I'm attempting to implement a repository pattern with my poco objects auto generated from my edmx. In my repository class, I have: IObjectSet<E> _objectSet; private IObjectSet<E> objectSet { get { if (_objectSet == null) { _objectSet = this._context.CreateObjectSet<E>(); } return _objectSet; } } public IQueryable<E> GetQuery(Func<E, bool> where) { return objectSet.Where(where).AsQueryable<E>(); } public IList<E> SelectAll(Func<E, bool> where) { return GetQuery(where).ToList(); } Where E is the one of my POCO classes. When I trace the database and run this: IList<Contact> c = contactRepository.SelectAll(r => r.emailAddress == "myemail@email.com"); It shows up in the sql trace as a select for everything in my Contact table. Where am I going wrong here? Is there a better way to do this? Does an objectset not lazy load... so it omitted the where clause? • Is there a difference between starting an application from the OS or from adb

  I do have a curious error in my application. My app crashes (don't mind the crash, I roughly know why - classloader) when I start the application from the OS directly, then kill it from the background via any Task Killer (this is one of the few ways to reproduce the crash consistently - simulating the OS freeing memory and closing the application) and try to restart it again. The thing is, if I start the application via adb shell using the following command: adb shell am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.my.packagename/myLaunchActivity I cannot reproduce the crash. So is there any difference in how Android OS calls the application as opposed to the above call? • IIS URL Rewrite rule - Default document for subdirectories

  I would like create URL rewrite rule that will set default document for my virtual folders. eg. someting like this www.domain.com/en/ -> www.domain.com/en/index.aspx www.domain.com/hr/ -> www.domain.com/hr/index.aspx www.domain.com/de/ -> www.domain.com/de/index.aspx directories en, hr, de doesn't really exists on web server they are just markers for languange used in site used by home grown http module that will rewrite path with query params. Quick solution was define rule for every single lang, something like this : <rewrite> <rewriteMaps> <rewriteMap name="Langs"> <add key="/en" value="/en/index.aspx" /> <add key="/hr" value="/hr/index.aspx" /> <add key="/de" value="/de/index.aspx" /> </rewriteMap> </rewriteMaps> <rules> But I would really like solution that would not require changes in web.config and adding rewrite rule for every languange used on particular site. But... I'm not sure how to add these namespaces to my project properties in Flash Builder 4 so I can debug. • Is it possible to redirect non-HTML files with HTTP? And chaining redirects?

  Hello, I have been thinking about a neat way of load balancing and one thing that would be required is to be capable of loading an image on an HTML page from multiple locations without rewriting the URL(on each load) So what I need to be able to do is have one URL which is the "static" URL. Such as http://example.com/myimage.png The image is not actually contained in example.com though. So example.com does a either a 302 or 301 or 307 HTTP response to cause a redirect to 2.example.com. How do browsers handle this with images like in this situation? Also, how do browsers handle multiple redirections for instance if 2.example.com also didn't contain it and it went to 3.example.com ? (Note, I am asking this because I've never seen a 301 redirect on anything but an HTML page) Also, which status code would be best to use. 301 means "moved permanently" which this "move" isn't permanent so I don't want it cached. Should I use 307? Is that supported by search engines and modern browsers?

• How to add deploy.jar to classpath?

  I am facing the problem: I need to add ${java.home}/lib/deploy.jar JAR file to classpath in the runtime (dynamically from java). The solution with Thread#setContextClassLoader(ClassLoader) (mentioned here) does not work because of this bug (if somebody can explain what is really a problem – you are welcome). The solution with -Xbootclasspath/a:"%JAVA_HOME%/jre/lib/deploy.jar" does not work well for me, because I want to have "pure executable jar" as a deliverable: no wrapping scripts please (more over %JAVA_HOME% may not be defined in user's environment in Windows for example, plus I need to write a script per platform) The solution with merging deploy.jar file into my deliverable works only if I make a build on Windows platform. Unfortunately, when the deliverable is produced on build server running on Linux, I got Linux-dependant JAR, which does not execute on Windows – it fails with the trace below. I have read How the Java Launcher Finds Classes and Java programming dynamics: Java classes and class loading articles but I've got no extra ideas, how to correctly handle this situation. Any advices or solutions are very welcomed. • How do I start a service which is defined in a different package?

  I have two apps, one runs in namespace com.gtosoft.voyager and the other is com.gtosoft.dash. From com.gtosoft.dash I would like to start up the service which is defined in com.gtosoft.voyager... I think I need an intent, but what arg(s) would I pass to the intent before kicking it off with startService()? • How do you use FastInfoset with JAXWS?

  I've got code that looks like it should be correct based on what I can find, but the spewed output doesn't indicate that it's using FastInfoset. My understanding is the Accept should indicate it can accept Fastinfoset and the response would actually use it, meaning it's not text/xml as the response type. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I've scoured with Google and I'm having a hard time finding much detail on how to use FastInfoset at all. • mod_rewrite to redirect URL with query string

  I've searched all over stackoverflow, but none of the answers seem to be working for this situation. I have a lot of working mod_rewrite rules already in my httpd.conf file. I just recently found that Google had indexed one of my non-rewritten URLs with a query string in it: http://domain.com/?state=arizona I would like to use mod_rewrite to do a 301 redirect to this URL: http://domain.com/arizona The issue is that later on in my rewrite rules, that 2nd URL is being rewritten to pass query variables on to WordPress. It ends up getting rewritten to: http://domain.com/index.php?state=arizona Which is the proper functionality. Everything I have tried so far has either not worked at all or put me in an endless rewrite loop. This is what I have right now, which is getting stuck in a loop: RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} state=arizona [NC] RewriteRule .* http://domain.com/arizona [R=301,L] #older rewrite rule that passes query string based on URL: RewriteRule ^([A-Za-z-]+)$ index.php?state=$1 [L] which gives me an endless rewrite loop and takes me to this URL: http://domain.com/arizona?state=arizona I then tried this: RewriteRule .* http://domain.com/arizona? [R=301,L] which got rid of the query string in the URL, but still creates a loop.

• How to put JFrame into existing JPanel in Java Swing?

  I have an open-source java swing application like this: http://i47.tinypic.com/dff4f7.jpg You can see in the screenshot, there is a JPanel divided into two area, left and right area. The left area has many text links. When I click the SLA Criteria link, it will pop-up the SLA Criteria window. The pop-up window is JFrame object. Now, I'm trying to put the pop-up window into right area of the JPanel, so that means no pop-up window anymore, i.e. when I click the SLA Criteria link, its contents will be displayed at the right area of the JPanel. The existing content of the right area of JPanel will not be used anymore. The example illustration (note: it's made and edited using image editor, this is not the real screenshot of working application) is like this: http://i48.tinypic.com/5vrxaa.jpg So, I would like to know is there a way to put JFrame into JPanel? I'm thinking of using JInternalFrame, is it possible? Or is there another way? Shrapnel proposed- but when i assign values to $_GET in the actual file and not from a request the code doesnt work.   I want start programming for android.. What I have: -Windows 7 -Eclipse Classic 4.2 -Downloaded all there required files - http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/adding-packages.html -ADT Plugin I want install new ADT plugin.. at first I tried to download it from http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse, I add it, but if i selected it there is only "pending.." and nothing has load..(maybe internet connection?I have selected Native connection in preferences after pending it wrotes: Unable to connect to repository http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/content.xml org.eclipse.equinox.p2.core.ProvidesException ) Thats why I download ADT plugin. So if I select downloaded ADT plugin - content of it load - developer tools and ndk plugin so I select all and click next. It loads and writes this: "Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. • Is it possible to embed a flash player in a table and retain the table properties

  I'd like to embed a music (flash) player in a table with clickable images but the embed code seems to throw the table properties off - it extends the width of the table. Is it possible to embed the player on the same row as the image whilst still retaining the table width? • Capistrano + Git + DreamHost

  Hello, I'm trying to deploy my rails application by using Passenger and Capistrano on Dreamhost. I'm using Git as a version control and we bought an account from GitHub. I have installed all required gems, Passenger and Capistrano in my local machine and I have cloned the repository of my project from GitHub in my local machine as wel. According to Dreamhost support, they have Passenger, Ruby, Rails and etc on their server as well. I'm currently following this article http://github.com/guides/deploying-with-capistrano for my deployment. • Downloading a webpage in C# example

  I am trying to understand some example code on this web page: (http://www.csharp-station.com/HowTo/HttpWebFetch.aspx) that downloads a file from the internet. The piece of code quoted below goes through a loop getting chunks of data and saving them to a string until all the data has been downloaded. As I understand it, "count" contains the size of the downloaded chunk and the loop runs until count is 0 (an empty chunk of data is downloaded). My question is, isn't it possible that count could be 0 without the file being completely downloaded? Say if the network connection is interrupted, the stream may not have any data to read on a pass of the loop and count should be 0, ending the download prematurely. Or does ResStream.Read stop the program until it gets data?   I've got a button that has an onclick event in it, which was set on the back end from .NET. Beside it is a checkbox <button class="img_button" onclick="if(buttonLoader(this)){WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new WebForm_PostBackOptions('uxBtnRelease', '', true, '', 'somepage.aspx?oupid=5&fp=true', false, true))} return false;" type="button">Release</button> <input type="checkbox" checked="checked" id="myCheckbox"> When the checkbox is clicked, needs to change the value of the query string in the URL inside the onclick function of the button. • LINQ query to find if items in a list are contained in another list

  I have the following code: List<string> test1 = new List<string> { "@bob.com", "@tom.com" }; List<string> test2 = new List<string> { "joe@bob.com", "test@sam.com" }; I need to remove anyone in test2 that has @bob.com or @tom.com. What I have tried is this: bool bContained1 = test1.Contains(test2); bool bContained2 = test2.Contains(test1); bContained1 = false but bContained2 = true. I would prefer not to loop through each list but instead use a Linq query to retrieve the data. bContained1 is the same condition for the Linq query that I have created below: List<string> test3 = test1.Where(w => !test2.Contains(w)).ToList(); The query above works on an exact match but not partial matches. I have looked at other queries but I can find a close comparison to this with Linq. Any ideas or anywhere you can point me to would be a great help.
