  • What is tha CAUSE of Error 523 and Error 200 in Blackberry handhelds

    - by voipsecuritydigest.com
    I'm Blackberry developer, customers using my application experiencing Error 523 and Error 200. Remedies to those errors are in first case - remove application, my application. In second case totally reload OS! This is very bad, and customers blame me! But this is I don't do anything illegal to make blackberry crash. I just used a lot of memory, which is obvious because customer want that. Everywhere including Blackberry knowledge base people talking how to fix the problem, which may happened to everybody using application from well known brands, for example Yahoo! finances. But nobody explains what is the mechanism behind this, and if it is possible to avoid the problem. I would like to know what is that CAUSE of Error 523 and Error 200?

  • iPhone to Android Market

    - by BahaiResearch.com
    (I am coming from an iPhone experience) When we create an iPhone app, Apple gives us a http URL that we can put on web pages that when clicked will open iTunes and give the user a chance to buy on their desktop. As Android has no "iTunes" Windows/Mac application on the desktop, what do I link to on my Web pages/email marketing so that users can go and buy the Android apps we are writing? Ian

  • Android @Override usage

    - by BahaiResearch.com
    (Newbie to Java, old time C# guy.) I have noticed a lot of the use of @Override in Android example code. I thought that all Java methods were by default "Virutal"? What then does @Override do? Example: private class HelloWebViewClient extends WebViewClient { @Override public boolean shouldOverrideUrlLoading(WebView view, String url) { view.loadUrl(url); return true; } }

  • BlockingQueue decorator that logs removed objects

    - by scompt.com
    I have a BlockingQueue that's being used in a producer-consumer situation. I would like to decorate this queue so that every object that's taken from it is logged. I know what the straightforward implementation would look like: simply implement BlockingQueue and accept a BlockingQueue in the constructor to which all of the methods would delegate. Is there another way that I'm missing? A library perhaps? Something with a callback interface?

  • VB6 Game Development : Don't ask me why :-)

    - by CVS-2600Hertz-wordpress-com
    Hi All, I am developing a game in VB6 (plz don't ask me why :) ). The storyboard is ready and a rough implementation is underway. I am following a "pure-software-rendering" approach. (i.e. no DirectX, no openGL etc.) Amongst many others, the following "serious" problems exist: 2D alpha transparency reqd. to implement overlays. Parallax implementation to give depth-of-field illusion. Capturing mouse-scroll events globally (as in FPS-es; mapping them to changing weapon). Async sound play with absolute "zero-lag". Any ideas anyone. Please suggest any well documented library/ocx or sample-code. Plz do provide solutions with max performance and with as little overhead as possible. Also, anyone who has developed any games, and would be open to sharing her/his code would be highly appreciated. (any well-acknowledged VB games whose source-code i can study??) Thank You

  • What is the best platform/language for a 3D game in a web browser?

    - by CodeJustin.com
    I have enjoyed making 2D games in various langues (actionscript 3.0, java, python, others) but now I'm ready to move into 3D and to really get me amped up while learning 3D development I'm going to attempt to make a 3D multiplayer game (I already have server written in python). I'm looking for a platform that will run a 3D game well in the browser on low end computers with low end internet. What first came to mind was try Java or use flash/silver light with a 3D framework but I wanted to ask the good people of stackoverflow since performance is a big part of my needs and also good documentation is a plus since I'm just starting 3D development. (the programming language does not matter)

  • How to copy one Stream to a byte array with the smallest C# code?

    - by estourodepilha.com
    Until now I am counting 12 LoCs. Could you make it smaller? using (Stream fileStream = File.OpenRead(fileName)) { using (BinaryReader binaryReader = new BinaryReader(fileStream)) { using (MemoryStream memoryStream = new MemoryStream()) { byte[] buffer = new byte[256]; int count; int totalBytes = 0; while ((count = binaryReader.Read(buffer, 0, 256)) > 0) { memoryStream.Write(buffer, 0, count); totalBytes += count; } memoryStream.Position = 0; byte[] transparentPng = new byte[totalBytes]; memoryStream.Read(transparentPng, 0, totalBytes); } } }

  • Regular expression to match non-negative integers in PHP?

    - by kavoir.com
    I seem to get it to work with the following regexp by preg_match(): @^(?:[1-9][0-9]*)|0$@ Yet it's weird that it matches '-0', considering there are no '-' allowed at all in the regexp. Why? What's more weird is that if you switch the parts divided by |: @^0|(?:[1-9][0-9]*)$@ It matches all negative integers such as '-2' and '-10', etc. What am I missing here? Any better regexp for non-negative integer?

  • iPhone Gestures Adding 2 at once

    - by BahaiResearch.com
    Objective C answers are fine too. Currently I am using this code to add 2 gestures (left / right) to my WebView. Works fine. Can I combine this into less code though to indicate that both gestures go to the same action? //LEFT UISwipeGestureRecognizer sgr = new UISwipeGestureRecognizer (); sgr.AddTarget (this, MainViewController.MySelector); sgr.Direction = UISwipeGestureRecognizerDirection.Left; sgr.Delegate = new SwipeRecognizerDelegate (); this.View.AddGestureRecognizer (sgr); //RIGHT UISwipeGestureRecognizer sgrRight = new UISwipeGestureRecognizer (); sgrRight.AddTarget (this, MainViewController.MySelector); sgrRight.Direction = UISwipeGestureRecognizerDirection.Right; sgrRight.Delegate = new SwipeRecognizerDelegate (); this.View.AddGestureRecognizer (sgrRight);

  • From iPhone to Android Question

    - by BahaiResearch.com
    (I'm coming from an iPhone dev world. ) In Android do we need to worry what OS version we compile against? In the iPhone world I would usually target a release that's at least 6 months old to limit the number of issues with installing on iPhones with old OSs. What strategy should I use when choosing what to compile against on the Android?

  • Understanding configuration for parallel calling in web app (IIS + MS SQL)

    - by mmcteam.com.ua
    We have an ASP.NET MVC application + IIS 7.5 + SQL Server 2008 R2. We have to load a lot of aggregate counters on the each page. We decided to use ajax and call with javascript for each counter or groups of counters and return them as JSON result. We solve the problem that user doesn't wait for page loading, page loads fast. User waits for counters loading while seeing other page content. But we thought that if we make calls from javascript - our queries will be make async, but we notice, that it is not. All our javascipt calls runs immediately, but action that they invoke are in queue. If we use Async Controller ability - all counters calculating simultaneously, but user has to wait for the longest counter calculating before page loads. The question: We want to understand what is happens if we use ajax and call two or more actions simultaneously. And how can we configuring this. (also in each action we make some queries to sql server)

  • How to access constant defined in child class?

    - by kavoir.com
    I saw this example from php.net: <?php class MyClass { const MY_CONST = "yonder"; public function __construct() { $c = get_class( $this ); echo $c::MY_CONST; } } class ChildClass extends MyClass { const MY_CONST = "bar"; } $x = new ChildClass(); // prints 'bar' $y = new MyClass(); // prints 'yonder' ?> But $c::MY_CONST is only recognized in version 5.3.0 or later. The class I'm writing may be distributed a lot. Basically, I have defined a constant in ChildClass and one of the functions in MyClass (father class) needs to use the constant. Any idea?
