  • Shortcut for moving between Vim windows

    Let's say I have single Vim tab displaying 9 buffers (equally separated, like a table 3x3). Currently, to get from the top left window to the bottom right one, I have to press 3, Ctrl+W, J, and then 3, Ctrl+W, L. This is cumbersome and I would like to just be able to press Ctrl+9 to go to the 9th window and Ctrl+3 to go to the 3rd window, etc. Is there any easy way I can map something like this in Vim?

There is no difference in the first response from server whether it is single or multiline, it always ends with CRLF (considering the usual case) so how do I do I know if I should call recv() once more?

For example, if I want to create a 400 GBytes Database, is there a rule to help me decide how many mdf files I should create ? or should I just go ahead and create a single gigantic 400Gbytes mdf file?     The following does not work: var js_str= '<?php echo $str_from_server; ?>'; The problem is that, $str_from_server can contain any characters. If it contains single quotes or line breaks or others, the above code will break. And I do not have access to the server-side code. What's the easiest way to "escape" the contents of $str_from_server into a javascript string, and then it can be restored later?

I'm using str_replace like this: str_replace("’", '\u1234', $string); It looks like I cannot figure out what character the quote really is. Even when I copy paste it directly from PHPMyAdmin it still doesn't work. Do I have to escape it somehow?

My understanding of a variable preceded with an at sign is that it is an instance variable, like this in PHP: PHP version class Person { public $name; public function setName($name) { $this->name = $name; } public function getName() { return $this->name; } } Ruby equivalent class Person def set_name(name) @name = name end def get_name() @name end end What does the double at sign @@ mean, and how does it differ from a single at sign?

    I know add() adds the specified (signed) amount of time to the given time field, based on the calendar's rules. And roll() adds the specified (signed) single unit of time on the given time field without changing larger fields. I can't think of an everyday usage of roll() I would do everything by add(). Can you help me out with examples when do we use roll() and when add()?

  • What's the best way to have functions share an array in Objective-C?

    I understand that in Objective-C you declare an array in the header file and interact with it in a class. So far I'm adding things and fetching them fine within a single function. I'm new to the language however and can't figure out how to share that array across other functions. I'd like to initialize array data in my viewDidLoad and access it from various functions later on.     I am considering upgrading my work computer to use windows 8 as the new file transferring feature seems very useful. Unfortunately after installing windows 8 on my home pc to test it out, the files are being transferred in separate dialogs as opposed to this image provided by microsoft. As I am transferring files constantly a single transfer dialog would make things much less confusing. Does anyone know what settings to change to make file transfers appear in the same window?
