    Hi, I first time tried to subClassed an NSDate to give it 2 methods that I need. Compiles fine, but in runtime I try to access it I get an error. Lets say I just want the current date which is unmodified in the subClass: [myNSDate date]; I get the error -[NSDate initWithTimeIntervalSinceReferenceDate:]: method only defined for abstract class. Define -[myNSDate initWithTimeIntervalSinceReferenceDate:]! what is different?

    Hi, When login through root on HP-tru Unix server, I am trying to access a directory, it is saying "Permission Denied".. Also, an sh file is also not able to execute through same root access..     I have a string like so: option_alpha="value" option_beta="some other value" option_gamma="X" ...etc. I'm using this to parse them into name & value pairs: preg_match_all("/([a-z0-9_]+)\s*=\s*[\"\'](.+?)[\"\']/is", $var_string, $matches) Which works fine, unless it encounters an empty attribute value: option_alpha="value" option_beta="" option_gamma="X" What have I done wrong in my regex?

  • What is an efficient way to find a non-colliding rectangle nearest to a location

    For a 2D game I am working on, I am using y axis sorting in a simple rectangle-based collision detection. This is working fine, and now I want to find the nearest empty rectangle at a given location with a given size, efficiently. How can I do this? Is there an algorithm? I could think of a simple brute force grid test (with each grid the size of the empty space we're looking for) but obviously this is slow and not even a complete test.

  • Livevalidation clientside validation - can you control the position of the validation messages?

    I'm using LiveValidaion for my clientside validation http://livevalidation.com/ and DataAnnotations for my validation rules. This all works fine except that the clientside error messages are only ever displayed to the right of the element being validated. Is it possible to move this validation message below the element being validated? Or even better, group all messages in a div at the top/bottom of the page? I dont see anything in their docs or examples

  • Emacs 23: Selection not highlighted

    I installed Ubuntu 10.04, and with it came Emacs 23. If I want to select text in Emacs, that works perfectly fine except the fact that the region is not highlighted. However, this only happens, if I try to make a region using the keyboard. If I select something with the mouse, it is highlighted as usual. Does anybody know, why the region is not highlighted and how to fix that?

    Anyone know of a command-line CSV viewer for Linux/OS X? I'm thinking of something like less but that spaces out the columns in a more readable way. (I'd be fine with opening it with OpenOffice Calc or Excel, but that's way too overpowered for just looking at the data like I need to.) Having horizontal and vertical scrolling would be great.

It needs to meet the following requirements: Must start with a letter or number, and can contain only letters and numbers. All letters in a container name must be lowercase. Must be from 3 through 63 characters long (although the shorter the better) The result does not need to be reversible, just repeatable - so a 1-way hash would be fine.

  • Issue with UIImage files not being found on phone

    Note: Using Monotouch. I have a directory called Images where I have all my PNG files. In my code I have the following _imgMinusDark = UIImage.FromFile("images/MinusDark.png"); On the simulator it runs fine, on the phone it's null. I have the Images folder content (all the PNGs) in my MonoDevelop marked as Content in terms of Build Action. What am I missing? thanks

    I want to query against a geospatial index in mongo-db (designed after this tutorial http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/Geospatial+Indexing). So when I execute this from the shell everything works fine: db.sellingpoints.find(( { location : { $near: [48.190120, 16.270895], $maxDistance: 7 / 111.2 } } ); but the same query from my nodejs application (using mongoskin or mongoose), won't return any results until i set the distance-value to a very high number (5690) db.collection('sellingpoints') .find({ location: { $near: [lat,lng], $maxDistance: distance / 111.2} }) .limit(limit) .toArray(callback); Has someone any idea how to fix that?

A temporary table in some other database is not an option. I've been trying to use a DAO RecordSet, but while I can read the RecordSet just fine I cannot set it as the report's RecordSet and I cannot use its Name as the RecordSource Property as both approaches lead to an error.     If you go to the "Variable Grid System" generator and have: column width = 20 number of columns = 12 and gutter width = 60 ...the system provides a content width of 900 and a full width of 960. http://www.spry-soft.com/grids/ Now, this is all fine and dandy in Firefox, Chrome, and even IE6, but when you load those settings in IE8, you end up with the actual full width as 1000px, not 960px. Has this issue been encountered before?

    My Question: How to overcome an IllegalAccessException to access the value of a an object's field using reflection. Expansion: I'm trying to learn about reflection to make some of my projects more generic. I'm running into an IllegalAccessException when trying to call field.getValue(object) to get the value of that field in that object. I can get the name and type just fine. If I change the declaration from private to public then this works fine. But in an effort to follow the "rules" of encapsulation I don't want to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
